"Yes, usually only Spirit awakening stage cultivators have it. As for why you have one... ask that treasure you’re carrying. That is a so-called ’Divine-grade treasure’ that many hopes to obtain in their life but never get one," she said, her tone almost accusatory.
"Now, can you release ?" she asked.
Tian Lei scratched his head with an awkward smile. "I don’t even know how I got this treasure," he admitted.
"What!?" the woman yelled, utterly exasperated. "How is this even possible!?"
"I don’t know," Tian Lei said with a shrug. "It just... appeared."
The woman’s head tilted slightly, her golden eyes narrowing as if processing the absurdity of the situation. This brat... has a treasure that could make sacred lands wage wars, and he acts like it’s nothing? What kind of luck does he have?
Taking a deep breath, she cald herself. "Fine. Co closer, put your hand on the orb, and try to connect with it. Maybe then you’ll figure out how to release ," she said.
Tian Lei nodded, curiosity burning in his heart. He wanted to know if this orb truly had anything to do with his reincarnation. anwhile, outside the Sea of Consciousness, Yuyan watched him warily. She frowned as she saw no changes in his aura. "Did he really manage to fight off that soul?" she wondered, continuing to guard him.
Inside, Tian Lei approached the orb and placed his hand on it. Suddenly, a searing pain coursed through his entire body. He dropped to his knees, clutching his head as a torrent of information flooded into his mind. What felt like hours of agonizing tornt ended abruptly, and he gasped for breath.
"Did you learn anything?" the woman asked, her chains clinking as she leaned forward slightly.
Tian Lei glared at her, his face pale. "You could’ve warned about that!" he snapped.
"How would I know what would happen? I’ve been imprisoned here by your Artifact anyway, rember?" she retorted, rolling her eyes.
Tian Lei sighed, shaking his head as he stood up. "Fine. I figured so things out," he admitted.
"What did you learn?" she asked, curious.
Tian Lei hesitated for a mont but decided to share. "This is called the Infinite Fortune Core. It grants a special Soul called Infinite Fortune Soul Emperor , which makes immune to any soul-based attacks, regardless of the attacker’s cultivation level."
The woman’s eyes widened in astonishnt. "Really?" she asked, her voice tinged with disbelief.
"Yes," Tian Lei affird. "And it also provided a cultivation technique."
The woman nodded thoughtfully. "That’s quite the treasure. Perhaps it’s a legacy treasure that deed you suitable," she said before adding, "Now, can you release ?"
"Not until you tell your whole story," Tian Lei replied, folding his arms. His firm tone made it clear he wasn’t going to budge. He snapped his fingers creating two chairs for them to sit on.
The woman sighed, her chains rattling, she adjusted as she sit on a chair. "You can already control soul force," she remarked, impressed.
"It’s an ability from my new soul," Tian Lei explained, watching her closely.
The way she moved, despite being bound, her wrists, ankles, and even her neck chained. Tian Lei couldn’t help but notice her elegant deanor despite her predicant.
"Let’s start with my na," she said, her voice steady. "I am Murong Yue. I was the Saintess of a sacred land called White Celestial Fairies—a sect that only recruit won. Being the Saintess ant I was among the most talented and powerful cultivators of my Sect."
Tian Lei nodded. He knew the title of Saintess or Saints were reserved for exceptional talents, and the hope of sects and their position in Sect is second only to the Sect Master. "Then how did you end up like this?" he asked.
Murong Yue sighed heavily. "It all started during a secret realm exploration. This realm was famous for various Treasures found there, having existed for over a million years."
Tian Lei’s eyebrows shot up. "A million years? How old are you?" he blurted out, then imdiately raised his hands in apology. "Don’t mind , continue."
Murong Yue shot him a glare but resud her story. "During the exploration, one of my follower betrayed . She tampered with my pill supply on orders from the Saint of Tyrant Land, who coveted . The pill was laced with an aphrodisiac. Helplessly I fell into their trap. To escape his plans, I tore open a void and jumped through it and ended up in this cave, which I thought was a legacy cave. However, it was a trap. A prisoner had laid a reverse heaven formation here. The mont I entered, I replaced him as the one bound in chains. Under the effects of the aphrodisiac, I ended up dying, but my soul survived. I rged with the formation after a long study, changed it so it won’t trap another one, then fell into a deep sleep, waiting for soone to co and help ."
Tian Lei listened intently. he didn’t doubted her story as she was bound by those Golden Chains. The golden chains binding her were so powerful that even the strongest cultivators wouldn’t be able to lie while under their influence.
After a mont of thought, Tian Lei nodded. "Alright, I believe you," he said, snapping his fingers. The golden chains binding Murong Yue shattered into radiant lights, dispersing into the air and freeing her.
"Thank you," she said softly, her voice filled with gratitude. "I’ll need to rest now. Once I recover so of my soul force, I’ll wake up and help you, In my current state, I can’t be of much help to you."
Tian Lei watched her closely and then extended his hand, releasing a golden ray toward her. Murong Yue’s expression shifted as she felt her soul strengthen significantly, as though she had just stepped out of her body rather than having been bound and surviving as a soul for millions of years.
"This... What is this?" she murmured, stunned.
Tian Lei shrugged nonchalantly. "I told you, I can already manipulate soul force. Healing your soul wasn’t that difficult," he said. Internally, however, he smirked. Especially with my current special soul.
