Colleen looked at him, arms crossed. "You found her pitiful?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.

Alex nodded. "Yeah. That’s why I’m helping her."

She studied him for a mont, unsure what to say next. Then she softened. "Stay here. And don’t even think about sneaking a peek." With that, she moved past him and gently shut the door behind her.

Alex muttered with a roll of his eyes, "What does she think I am?"

He heard the faint click of the lock, then settled back, waiting patiently.

After half an hour, Colleen returned. Alex’s breath caught as he saw her—her new dress flowing gracefully, accentuating every curve, the soft fabric shimring in the dim light. He was caught off guard by her beauty, his eyes lingering longer than he intended.

Colleen smiled as she caught Alex staring at her, his eyes tracing the curves of her new dress. She smirked slightly and asked, "So, where are we going?"

Alex returned her smile and shrugged. "Your choice."

She raised an eyebrow. "Are you sure?"

"Yeah," he replied confidently. "Since it’s our first date, I’ll let you pick the location."

"Shouldn’t it be the guy choosing the best spot to impress his date?" she teased back.

Alex shook his head. "I’m not like most guys. Besides, I can tell you’re a bit uneasy around . So, let’s say I’m making you comfortable—by letting you choose where we go."

Colleen nodded slowly, then added, "I’m a bit anxious after everything... especially after that thing showed up."

Alex smiled slightly. "That was Cypher. He’s more like a pet—familiar like in gas and movies."

She tilted her head. "Like a demon? A spirit? So kind of summoned contract?"

Alex nodded. "One of those, for sure."

She looked at him curiously. "Can I ask... what are you?"

Alex glanced at her and answered, "Sure."

"So, what are you?" she pressed.

He thought for a mont. "If I have to be clear... I’m a forced traveler in this world." He shrugged. "And I don’t know how I ended up here, but in this ssed-up world, I’m going to live the best way possible."

"That was poetic," she said with a small smile.

They stepped out of the dojo together.

"You’re not going to take on a date riding your bike, right?" Colleen asked, glancing at the motorcycle parked nearby.

Alex grinned and pulled out his keys. As he pressed the remote, a car’s unlocking sound echoed from the other side of the wall. Colleen looked over, surprised.

"You brought a car too?" she asked.

"Nah, I borrowed it," he replied casually.

Back at the Black Lotus hideout, Alex had taken the car keys from the pale man—knowing he couldn’t exactly ask her to go on a date riding a bike.

Alex held the door open for her as they stepped outside. Parked just beyond the gate was a black beauty—a BMW M8, sleek and gleaming under the streetlights.

Colleen raised her eyebrows as she looked at it. "I thought you were broke, given your vibe... but you do have so great taste in cars."

Alex walked over and gently tapped the hood of the beast. "Thanks, I guess," he replied, not bothering to ntion that the car used to belong to the pale guy from the Black Lotus—whose na he hadn’t even cared to ask.

Alex opened the door for her, and Colleen slid into the passenger seat. He closed it gently before walking around and getting into the driver’s seat.

As he started the engine, he glanced at her. "Do you mind if I make a quick stop before we head to your location?"

She looked over at him. "What now? Changing your mind?"

He chuckled. "Nope. But I definitely can’t go out like this." He gestured at his hoodie and jeans.

She smirked. "So what, you’re stopping by a clothing store or sothing?"

"Exactly," he said with a grin as the car smoothly pulled out onto the street.

Alex drove through the quiet streets, the hum of the engine smooth and steady. A few minutes later, he pulled up in front of a small, upscale clothing store tucked between two buildings.

"Won’t take long," he said, flashing Colleen a quick grin before stepping out.

True to his word, within a minute, he erged again—now wearing a sharp black suit with a subtle red trim that matched perfectly with the elegant red dress Colleen was wearing.

She blinked, impressed. "You clean up fast."

Alex smirked as he slid back into the driver’s seat. "Had to make sure I matched my date."

Colleen raised an eyebrow, trying to hide the small smile tugging at her lips. "Well... you don’t look half bad."

Alex shot her a sideways glance, smirking. "I’ll take that as a win."

The car rolled back onto the road, city lights glinting across the windshield as they drove through the soft glow of the evening. For a while, neither of them spoke—just the low sound of the engine and the occasional hum of tires over pavent.

Eventually, Colleen broke the silence. "So... why all this effort? You don’t seem like the type to dress up for anyone."

Alex shrugged lightly. "I never do anything half-heartedly."

That caught her off guard. She turned to look at him, but he kept his eyes on the road, calm and composed.

"So, my queen—where to?" he asked, his tone playful, leaving the decision to her.

"Honestly? I don’t know either," she admitted with a small laugh. "I’ve never really dated anyone before."

"That can’t be right," Alex said, glancing at her.

She shot him a look, narrowing her eyes slightly. "Why?"

He chuckled. "No. I just think it’s impossible no one ever tried. You’re... kind of unforgettable."

Colleen blinked at that, clearly caught off guard. She cleared her throat and looked out the window. "I’ve never t anyone who could actually date ."

"Yeah? So what was your ’type’ then?" Alex asked.

She paused before answering, "Soone stronger than , I guess."
