UK:GSW Chapter 377: Uchiha Itachi Captured — Next Target, Uchiha Obito

Kotoamatsukami.

The so-called strongest genjutsu in the setting.

Of course, before this was introduced, Tsukuyomi was also called the strongest genjutsu.

Then later, another "strongest genjutsu" appeared.

In short, the "strongest" label got tossed around so much, much like how Amaterasu was originally described as the strongest physical attack—it felt like these settings were made up on the spot.

Still, considering how in that island nation you could hear chuuni titles like "Empire's Destructive Dragon" or "Empire's Absolute Savage Tiger" spoken with complete seriousness on national television, one could understand why "strongest" was sothing to be taken lightly.

That being said, the effect of Kotoamatsukami itself was still truly astounding. Stripping away the cheap "strongest" descriptor, its ability to alter soone's thoughts—changing them fundantally at the ntal level—was terrifying. It could make soone change their behavior entirely without even realizing it.

In the original story, there weren't many demonstrations of it—because the few real applications would have been too overpowered, so Kishimoto himself basically banned it from frequent use.

In fact, you could say Boruto introduced an upgraded version—one that altered the recognition of the entire ninja world. While it didn't change thoughts directly, the essence was the sa—completely swapping the perceived identities of two people, rewriting everyone's fundantal understanding that they had always been each other.

Boruto had very strong objections to that move… before putting on the "pain face."

Now, Itachi using Kotoamatsukami on his little brother showed just how extre his ntality was. It carried that "Little brother, I love you—but my love has nothing to do with you" insanity.

At this mont, Itachi activated Kotoamatsukami, intending to implant into Sasuke the will to protect the Hidden Leaf. Even if Itachi died here, he wanted Sasuke to walk the "right" path—rather than, as he imagined, joining so outside Uchiha branch to attack the Leaf.

Kotoamatsukami's power surged forth, Mangekyo chakra flooding into Sasuke's mind, seeking to rewrite his thoughts.

But in that instant, Sasuke's other Mangekyo activated on its own.

A deep, gravelly voice seed to echo:

"I am Batman."

The classic Batman line—utterly at odds with the Naruto setting—appeared here, because that was the na Sasuke had given this other Mangekyo ability.

Its effect was simple: absolute will. No matter the influence, nothing could control or sway his mind. It embodied Batman's unshakable resolve.

Whenever an outside force tried to alter his thoughts or will, it would trigger automatically, the iconic line sounding as his mind returned to normal.

This ability was passive—active at all tis while the Mangekyo was open—instantly countering any ntal control-type techniques.

It was the manifestation of Sasuke's will forged during his Batman days, crystallized the mont he awakened the Mangekyo—vowing never again to be deceived or have his will twisted.

Normally, this power was a bit niche—Mangekyo Sharingan users already had extrely high ntal resistance.

But here, it was perfect—countering Kotoamatsukami at the exact mont it was used.

The two ocular powers were both just Mangekyo abilities; no inherent "tier" difference existed—just direct conflict.

The result: Kotoamatsukami failed completely.

Itachi, unaware of this, thought he had succeeded. He relaxed slightly, already preparing to resolve Sasuke's "hidden dangers" before accepting death.

But then Sasuke's face twisted in rage—his purple Susanoo flaring instantly into its second form, grabbing for Itachi.

Shocked, Itachi instinctively tried to summon his own Susanoo—only for searing pain from his Tsukuyomi eye to break the technique.

A familiar voice echoed—a figure from the Tsukuyomi realm now appearing in Itachi's vision:

"Oh, right. Forgot to tell you—I left power in you that sealed both your Tsukuyomi and your Susanoo. No need to thank . This is just my job."

Itachi: "..."

Even with his self-control, he nearly cursed aloud.

But no chance—Sasuke's Susanoo seized him.

"You dare use genjutsu to control ? To make a guard dog for the Leaf? You're unforgivable, Itachi!!!"

Itachi's pupils shook—his mind went blank. Why didn't it work? Kotoamatsukami should have succeeded—how could Sasuke have noticed? Why was the mind alteration completely gone?

Unless…

Pinned in Susanoo's grip, he stared into Sasuke's eyes:

"Sasuke… your Mangekyo…?"

Sasuke's expression was feral.

"That's right. Didn't expect this, did you? My other Mangekyo gives absolute self-control—no one can change my mind."

Itachi's mouth opened… but no words ca. Despair filled his face.

It made sense—Mangekyo abilities were all unique. If Kotoamatsukami could exist, so could a power designed to nullify it.

Perhaps, Itachi thought bitterly, Sasuke had awakened this ability precisely because he learned his life was manipulated—and swore never to let Itachi decide it again.

That boorang from the past had struck him harder than ever.

He lost all ability to resist. Sasuke slamd him into the ground—repeatedly—until the "Number One Show-off in the Ninja World" slipped into a deep, genuine sleep. No acting.

Compared to the original events, Itachi was far worse off now.

After knocking him out, Sasuke's eyes throbbed in pain—overuse of ocular power.

In the original, Sasuke would have had no choice but to rest. Here, he casually pulled out a "system cola" and downed it in gulps.

The refreshing rush washed away the pain, cooling his eyes, restoring clarity. His fatigue faded; his vision sharpened—ocular and ntal energy replenished.

He burped contentedly.

"As expected of Uncle Kei's cola—the effect is incredible."

Looking again at the unconscious Itachi, Sasuke's gaze was pure disgust—none of the conflicted feelings of the original.

He was truly angry.

A fight was one thing—but to try and overwrite his mind with a will to protect the Leaf, turning him into a dog for Konoha?

Such ntal tampering was evil—sothing even Gotham's most depraved criminals would hesitate to do.

As Batman, he might have spared Itachi. Now? Not a chance.

"In the na of love, you take over my life—and when I stray, you try extre control. Laughable, Itachi. Your love is cheap."

"And the funniest part—you wanted to protect the Leaf. That's the biggest joke of all."

"You don't deserve to be my brother. A brother like you—I, Uchiha Sasuke, can't afford to have."

Without hesitation, he summoned a sealing scroll, unsealed a heavy black steel "coffin," and tossed Itachi inside.

Cold vapor filled the interior—special freezing to keep him unconscious indefinitely. His wounds and illness would not worsen—everything frozen in stasis.

Sasuke resealed the coffin in the scroll, then used Reverse Summoning to send it away—to where it belonged.

Now… other matters needed handling.

Narrowing his Three Tomoe Sharingan, he murmured:

"Naruto… can you capture the man who killed your parents? The masked man, Uchiha Obito?"

Far from the brothers' battlefield, the new Team 7 faced the masked, corrupted Obito—already engaged for so ti.

In Tobi's disguise, he acted the fool, throwing out Fire Style, Earth Style, and various tricks to stall Naruto, Sai, and Sakura. His evasions and subterranean escapes left Sai and Sakura frustrated—every attack dodged, taunted at every turn.

Naruto, anwhile, looked equally harried—but the cold gleam deep in his eyes betrayed the act.

He was waiting for the right mont.

Obito, for his part, was stalling—waiting for the brothers' battle to end so he could swoop in for the spoils.

Though Black Zetsu wasn't present, White Zetsu loyal to him were watching the area, ready to report. Confident in their loyalty, Obito assud the fight was still going—no news ant no conclusion.

In truth, Kei's loyal White Zetsu had already taken them out.

Unaware, Obito thought Itachi must still be "testing" Sasuke—holding back, avoiding lethal moves. He believed there was no rush.

And so, in his composure, the unexpected happened.

Naruto's deanor shifted—no longer frantic, but steady and serious.

Before Obito's eyes, Naruto activated a barrier technique with built-in space-locking—one requiring carefully placed support tools.

He had already planted them during their earlier exchanges.

Now, the barrier snapped shut—sealing Naruto and Obito in a rectangular space no larger than a basketball court.
