UK:GSW Chapter 360 – Sasuke: To Be Uncle Kei's Dog Is an Honor for the Uchiha
"What? Sasuke is missing? Snake Team is also completely gone? What the hell is going on? Black Zetsu! Weren't the White Zetsu always watching them?"
Sowhere within the Land of Fire in the Shinobi World, Uchiha Obito—currently in his masked man "Tobi" guise and claiming to be Uchiha Madara—was shaken to the core, his pupils trembling. He then glared deathly at the Black Zetsu before him and let out a low, furious growl.
Possessing a White Zetsu and appearing in his half-black, half-white form, Black Zetsu couldn't help but break into a cold sweat as he replied, "I don't know what happened either. The White Zetsu are confused as well—Sasuke and the others just suddenly vanished. They have no idea what exactly happened…"
While saying this, Black Zetsu was actually feeling rather guilty. He believed this really was his failure—though technically, it was the White Zetsu's mistake. However, since White Zetsu were nothing more than extensions of his own will and completely under his control, any mistakes they made were ultimately his responsibility. A tool's errors should be borne by the one wielding the tool, and in this case, that was him.
Obito in his blackened state felt the sa way. This pitiful man, who had spent more than half his life wearing a mask pretending to be soone else, glared at Black Zetsu with unrestrained fury boiling up inside him.
After all, this was rely a tailing mission—sothing trivial for White Zetsu—yet sothing went wrong. How could he possibly tolerate that?
Most importantly, Sasuke was a key part of his later plans. With Uchiha Itachi gravely ill, wavering in loyalty, and clearly not far from death, Obito was counting on Sasuke to awaken the Mangekyo Sharingan by killing Itachi. Then, by revealing the truth of the Uchiha Clan Massacre, he would draw Sasuke to his side as a replacent tool for Itachi.
Obito firmly believed his plan would succeed. The Uchiha were an extre clan, and Mangekyo awakeners were the most extre among them. He was certain that a Mangekyo-wielding Sasuke would follow his script and beco a highly useful tool.
In a way, Obito's thinking wasn't wrong—he just failed to predict that Sasuke was a very unusual Uchiha, the clan's king of ntal resilience. Nor could he imagine how much a certain Naruto could influence Sasuke. Although Sasuke initially followed his script, after eting Naruto and having their intense emotional clash, his mindset completely changed, and he chose to follow his own path.
During this ti, Obito even transplanted Itachi's Mangekyo into Sasuke, granting him the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan—only to create a formidable enemy for himself, essentially raising a "big boss" to stand against him.
Of course, Obito didn't know any of this yet. Before Snake Team's disappearance, he still believed everything was proceeding under his control: all he had to do was guide Sasuke to Itachi, have the brothers fulfill their destined duel, and then bring Sasuke under his command. He never expected such a sudden disruption.
Furious, Obito imdiately demanded the details.
Black Zetsu then explained how Snake Team had stumbled upon a strange pink turtle. While unusual, it didn't seem to possess any special power, so the White Zetsu hadn't paid it much attention. But last night, the turtle suddenly released a burst of energy accompanied by a flash of light, after which both Snake Team and the turtle vanished.
This, of course, was the version White Zetsu told Black Zetsu—but the original source of the story ca from Uchiha Kei.
As for that pink turtle itself, it was directly modeled after the Boruto-era treasure of the Otsutsuki Clan: "Kāma," whose effect was to transport people through ti and space—a real, existing artifact.
Obviously, Uchiha Kei had deliberately leaked this information to divert Black Zetsu and Obito's attention toward this item, sending them on an investigation.
While it was unlikely they would find anything substantial, if they did uncover Otsutsuki-related matters—especially things from the Boruto tiline—it would be amusing indeed and would save Uchiha Kei considerable effort.
Yes, Uchiha Kei was using these two to do reconnaissance for him.
And as for the possibility of them hiding their findings later…
Well, is it possible that by then, the two of them would already be surrounded entirely by his own White Zetsu?
In such situations, neither of the two would have any thought of secrecy, aning Kei would know everything imdiately.
This was a win-win—Kei winning twice over. Like Emperor Qin Shi Huang touching an electric wire, the victory was "electrifying."
Thus began the investigation into the strange turtle. To both Obito and Black Zetsu, Sasuke was important. For Obito, Sasuke was the perfect replacent for the terminally ill Itachi.
For Black Zetsu, Sasuke was the reincarnation of Indra's chakra, with imnse latent potential. If Sasuke could be manipulated as Obito planned, it would be a huge boon to Black Zetsu's sche to revive his mother.
In fact, Obito had another contingency: if the Eye of the Moon Plan with Madara failed, he could target Sasuke directly, luring him into joining the Eye of the Moon Plan to serve as yet another tool for reviving his mother.
So Obito also felt like he was "winning big" by aiming to capture Sasuke—and naturally, he would spare no effort to uncover the cause of his disappearance.
Black Zetsu, more than Obito, had his own thoughts about the turtle's strange, unreasonable power—wondering if it might be an Otsutsuki treasure.
As Kaguya Otsutsuki's will incarnate, Black Zetsu knew many things even the Sage of Six Paths and his brother did not. For example, when Kaguya first descended upon the Shinobi World, she was not alone—another Otsutsuki ca with her. In fact, Kaguya herself was originally ant to be that Otsutsuki's food, but ultimately she killed him instead.
The Otsutsuki Clan were cosmic marauders with countless mysterious items. The Sage's treasured tools were rely crude imitations of Otsutsuki artifacts.
Even so, such imitations were already rare treasures in the Shinobi World—let alone the real Otsutsuki relics.
If the turtle truly was a relic from that ancient era, it would be a matter of great interest. Where would it take Snake Team? Could they return?
In any case, they had to investigate thoroughly—at least to confirm whether it was indeed a relic from ancient tis and not sothing newly appearing in the Shinobi World. If it was new, then it ant sothing terrifying: that another Otsutsuki from beyond the world, one Kaguya had long feared, had arrived.
Of course, Black Zetsu deed this unlikely. His inherited mories told him that the Otsutsuki were suprely arrogant—upon arriving, they would imdiately begin seizing chakra and wreaking havoc. Since the White Zetsu network had reported nothing, their arrival seed improbable.
In short, the search for Sasuke had to be done, and the situation had to be clarified. Black Zetsu was more invested than Obito.
If the Black Zetsu of the main world knew his counterpart's mindset, he would be utterly baffled: "What? Another Otsutsuki ca with Mother? And she was their food? What nonsense are you talking about? Mother may be a 'god' from beyond the Shinobi World, but she was a princess—how could she be soone's servant or food?"
Yes—the settings of the Shippuden world and the Boruto world differed drastically.
anwhile, in the main world, Snake Team was preparing to return to World No. 2.
Yet they all felt reluctant to leave—even the normally aloof Uchiha Sasuke.
The main world was simply wonderful, each person finding their own physical and emotional fulfillnt here.
Suigetsu Hozuki and Jugo, now fully-fledged internet addicts, wished they could spend all 24 hours gaming. The thought of returning to a world without the internet was torture—they'd suffer withdrawal symptoms.
Karin Uzumaki wasn't addicted to gaming, but the care and guidance from her "mother" and the senior mbers of the Uzumaki Clan were things she had never experienced before. She cherished them deeply, despite the hard training, since she had never been one to fear hardship. Being constantly wrapped in warm chakra was sothing she never wanted to give up.
As for Sasuke, he had been utterly absorbed in study under Uchiha Kei's arrangents. In his spare ti, he wandered the Hidden Leaf Village, seeing the energetic, fully integrated Uchiha being admired and respected by all—filling him with both satisfaction and envy.
Although he had not gone to et this world's parents or baby brother due to personal pride and conflicted feelings, Kei's care and concern were real. Sasuke respected him deeply, addressing him as "Uncle Kei."
In fact, Sasuke had even considered addressing him like Kei's Uchiha guards did—"Lord Kei"—for this Uchiha sage truly deserved such a title. But Kei, saying he was friends with Fugaku and Mikoto, insisted all of Fugaku's children call him "uncle" instead.
Titles like "Uchiha Great Sage" ca from the guards themselves, who spoke of Kei's contributions to the Uchiha and the Hidden Leaf with near-religious devotion. They also told Sasuke of Kei's close ties with Tsunade, soon to beco the Fifth Hokage.
Learning this, Sasuke was stunned, then filled with deep admiration—even awe. To him, such feats were legendary, especially winning over soone like Tsunade.
Through Kei's connections, Sasuke also learned that the First and Second Hokage had been revived as heroic spirits, secretly serving both the Leaf and Kei himself—centing Sasuke's reverence for him.
Sasuke, who rarely admired anyone anymore, truly admired Uchiha Kei.
To him, Kei was like a god forging legends.
Thus, even though he didn't want to leave, when Kei gave the order, Sasuke accepted without hesitation—determined to return to World No. 2 and capture Uchiha Itachi.
In short—obedient and loyal.
Yes—loyalty.
Sasuke had even thought: if only their world had soone like Uchiha Kei, he would gladly give up his status as the clan leader's son and support Kei as Uchiha Clan Head. He believed Kei could make the Uchiha great again—even after the disastrous post-Nine-Tails era.
If Kei knew Sasuke's thoughts, he would wave his hands and say, "No, no, you overestimate . In the Uchiha's situation at that ti, making them great again would be extrely difficult. Even launching a genjutsu-based ga would be almost impossible compared to the main world—resistance would be overwhelming."
Yes—that was Kei's view of that point in ti: not impossible, but incredibly dangerous, possibly fatal. Root's actions against the Uchiha then were completely unscrupulous.
And before the genjutsu ga launch, Kei's own strength was weak—he couldn't even defend himself. With Minato already sacrificed, there was no sense of security.
Not to ntion the two classic traitors in the Uchiha—who knew if they'd be persuaded by the Hokage faction to betray him?
So things, even with the sa people and place, change entirely depending on the ti.
And so, under these circumstances, Snake Team arrived in the Land of Roran, where they t Orochimaru again.
But a murderous atmosphere quickly arose, signaling that this trip wasn't just about sending them back to World No. 2.
Sasuke frowned, watching Orochimaru, Sasori, and the cross-dressed "Senko" (Senju Tobirama) warily. "What's the aning of this? What are you trying to do?"
At his words, the rest of Snake Team tensed as well.
In response, Orochimaru—wearing a white coat, exuding scholarly elegance, and adjusting the glasses that enhanced this refined image—said, "No need to be nervous, Sasuke. We're rely acting on Kei-kun's request, to remove the hidden danger within you before you leave."
"In fact, Kei-kun gave us this task so ti ago. We've been researching it ever since, and now we have a definitive solution."
Hearing this, Sasuke was stunned, then relaxed considerably.
Not because he trusted Orochimaru—but because Orochimaru said it was Uchiha Kei's request.
After a mont's thought, Sasuke knew exactly what the "hidden danger" was. His hand went to the right side of his neck, where the Three Tomoe Heaven Curse Mark was clearly visible, sealed by a fūinjutsu.
This was sothing left by World No. 2's Orochimaru. Although that Orochimaru had failed to take Sasuke's body and had his consciousness erased and power absorbed by Sasuke's Sharingan, the Curse Mark still contained fragnts of his soul. Given a suitable host, those fragnts could revive him.
In the original story, this soul fragnt revived during Sasuke's battle with Itachi, attempting to take over his body—only to be sealed away by Itachi's Susanoo.
Thus, it was a genuine threat: in monts of extre weakness, it could strike, attempting to seize Sasuke's body.
