UK:GSW Chapter 357 – Danzo: World-Shaking Wisdom, Initiate

In the Number Two Ninja World, the atmosphere in the Hidden Leaf Village hadn't been very good lately.

The main problem lay with the higher-ups.

As for the general populace, the mood was actually quite lively because of the recent opening of the arcade. The Hidden Leaf Arcade was booming with business, attracting even the attention of spies from other villages who had infiltrated the Leaf. These spies went directly to experience it themselves, then reported their findings back.

It could be predicted that once the news reached the other villages, they would respond just as the main world did—sending people to negotiate and attempting to introduce the genjutsu gas to their own villages.

Of course, if the opportunity arose, those forces wouldn't hesitate to try to seize the technology for making genjutsu gas outright.

But that was a matter for the future.

For now, the biggest problem facing the Hidden Leaf was the division among the higher-ups caused by the arcade.

Ever since the arcade opened, the Hidden Leaf leadership had been in constant argunts over the arcade and genjutsu gas. The faction led by the Elders was extrely dissatisfied that the Hokage's faction had gone ahead without consulting them—especially after seeing how popular the arcade was and the benefits of the genjutsu gas.

Koharu Utatane and Homura Mitokado went to the Hokage's office every day to quarrel with Fifth Hokage Tsunade. Tsunade, for her part, was completely unapologetic and confronted the two Elders head-on.

The Elders wanted to take over the arcade business entirely, using the justification that "it must be under the control of the Leaf, otherwise it will endanger the village's security." They insisted the Leaf's leadership must hold all rights to the business and the genjutsu ga technology. The profit distribution could be discussed later, but control must not rest in the hands of Kakashi Hatake.

Yes—officially speaking, all of this was controlled by Kakashi, with other investors simply holding shares and receiving dividends, but without any real power—at least in na.

This deeply displeased the two Elders. How could such an important matter be left in the hands of an unreliable guy like Kakashi?

Moreover, doing sothing this significant while completely bypassing them, the advisory Elders, was obviously a move to marginalize them.

Could they tolerate this? Absolutely not. So they had to oppose it fiercely.

Tsunade's position was simple: all of this was Kakashi's technology, and the equipnt was supplied by Kakashi. Why should it be handed over to the village leadership? Besides, Kakashi was an elite Jonin of the Hidden Leaf, an outstanding mber of the village. What was wrong with letting him handle it?

Tsunade made it clear she fully supported him, and as Tsunade's staunch ally, Jiraiya also gave his full support.

The Ino–Shika–Cho trio, who had invested, also sided with them.

This infuriated the advisory Elders, who could do nothing but keep arguing endlessly.

In truth, under normal circumstances, using the thod Uchiha Kei had once employed—pulling most of the village into the profits—would have been better.

But the Number Two Leaf was not the sa as the main world's Leaf. In the main world, Uchiha Kei had used the Uchiha na to rally the clans, with the Uchiha Clan as the strongest backing. The Number Two Leaf did not have that.

Furthermore, the Number Two Leaf's arcade goods ca from the main world; they had no production capacity of their own. They could only act as a distributor, aning part of the profits already went to the main world's Leaf. Of what remained, how much could really be shared?

This arrangent was actually part of a plan aid at the Leaf's corrupt leadership—bait to draw out those who needed to be dealt with, so they could be removed like rotten flesh, leaving the Number Two Leaf unburdened for the future.

The main person responsible for this plan—and the one who designed it—was Kakashi Hatake.

The future Sixth Hokage, having undergone a transformation, was now putting his intellect to use against the Number Two Leaf's shady elents, showing both strong execution and unwavering resolve.

When the two Elders, having been rebuffed by Tsunade, tried to bypass her and confront Kakashi directly, they were t with a soft but firm wall. Kakashi's attitude was: "You two Elders have great prestige and insight, but Lady Tsunade is the Hokage."

This infuriated the Elders to the point of spitting blood, reminding them of the old days when the Third Hokage was alive, and their old friend Danzo Shimura would play the "You obstruct my Hokage" ga as part of the Leaf's political theater.

But the tis were different now. While Tsunade still gave the Elders face, she often acted on her own and completely ignored their words—very unlike the Third Hokage's era.

This left the Elders deeply dissatisfied. It wasn't that they couldn't accept losing power and retiring from the stage, but this storm-like push made them feel they were being forcibly suppressed and discarded.

Thus, they chose to resist in this matter, determined to step down on their own terms, not be forced out.

Tsunade was unhappy with this, but she said nothing extra. This was Kakashi's plan; she had entrusted the matter to him, and her role was simply to support him.

In truth, Kakashi wasn't even targeting the Elders specifically—they were just incidental. According to the plan, if the Elders went to extres, they would be eliminated as threats to the village and the ninja world. If they chose to step down voluntarily, returning what wasn't theirs, they could enjoy a decent retirent.

For Kakashi, there was no respect left for such people—only disgust, as if looking at a pile of rotten at.

After all, in the Warhamr 40K world, corruption and rot were everywhere, and the Emperor's Angels would purge such filth without rcy—quickly, efficiently, and to the extre.

As soone who had returned from the Warhamr 40K world, Kakashi had that absolute will.

If it weren't for his current lack of strength—and Tsunade's certain disapproval—he would have preferred a quick, efficient purge of the Leaf to solve everything once and for all.

But for now, this didn't match his current operating strategy.

The real target of the plan was Number Two Danzo Shimura.

Although he knew Danzo was trash, sotis you had to wait for such trash to make the first move before countering.

What's more, Uchiha Kei had given Kakashi plenty of intel, letting him know that Number Two Danzo's strength was not to be underestimated—he had many hidden trump cards and was far from a cripple in truth.

To prevent him from escaping, Kakashi needed to ensure that once he struck, he would finish him completely, leaving no one with any grounds to object.

This wasn't as simple as just going to kill him.

In fact, Sai—who had already pledged loyalty to the main world's Leaf but was still undercover in Root—had been quietly gathering evidence of Number Two Danzo and Root harming the village, passing it to Kakashi.

Everything was going smoothly. Danzo had committed plenty of cris, but to say his level as a villain and scher was high would be laughable.

His most "brilliant" move after briefly becoming the 5.5th Hokage was using Shisui's Mangekyo to control Mifune into supporting him as Allied Shinobi Forces Commander—hardly a masterstroke, more like the antics of soone who had only ever played in a low-tier political environnt.

The truth was, the Third Hokage had given him far too much freedom, letting him believe that conspiracy and political maneuvering were at such a crude level. If he wanted real skill, he'd have to go study in a few Naruto fanfictions.

One could say that Danzo was the perfect example of "world-shaking wisdom"—whether wise or not, at least it "shook the world."

This ti, however, Number Two Danzo was facing Kakashi Hatake, returned from Warhamr 40K, and the situation was entirely different.

Through Kakashi's deliberate maneuvering, the Elders' anger reached a peak, and Number Two Danzo thought his chance had co. He went to the Elders to win them over, promising that if they helped him take power from Tsunade, he would give them control of the arcade. He also claid that Kakashi had once worked under him and would never dare defy his orders.

But despite the tempting offer, the Elders refused and sternly rebuked Danzo, telling him not to covet the Hokage's seat and to focus on leading Root instead of chasing fantasies.

Their stance left no room for negotiation—they would never support Danzo.

This stunned him. How could they not support him even now? Didn't they realize that continuing on this path would an losing all their power and being forced into retirent?

Danzo bluntly told them this, speaking in a severe tone about the loss of their influence.

The Elders admitted they understood and showed both deep unwillingness and anger.

But when Danzo tried to push further, they still shook their heads, making it clear they would never support him.

This made Danzo furious, and after a heated quarrel, they parted on bad terms. Danzo returned to Root in a dark, seething rage, vowing to deal with the two stubborn old fools once he took power.

The Elders, however, dismissed him with contempt.

From Danzo's perspective, the Elders were idiots. From the Elders' perspective, refusing to cooperate with him might cost them their current power, but if he beca Hokage, it would be far worse—their clans could be destroyed, and the whole Leaf would be plunged into darkness.

They knew well that Danzo, who had once wiped out the Uchiha Clan under the pretext of preventing a coup, would have no qualms about labeling them as "traitors" and eliminating them if they opposed him.

The massacre of the Uchiha Clan—leaving only Sasuke Uchiha alive thanks to Itachi's secret deal with Danzo—had left a deep, chilling impression.

Even with their own dislike of the Uchiha Clan, influenced by Tobirama Senju, the Elders could not accept such an act. At most, they'd remove the dangerous hawks within the clan while keeping a portion alive for control. After all, the Uchiha were a founding clan of the Leaf.

If a founding clan could be wiped out entirely, how could any other clan feel safe? No one wanted to beco "the next Uchiha."

This was why Danzo was so despised and opposed even by his old allies.

Unfortunately, Danzo lacked even this basic political understanding. He only thought his old friends were being stupid—standing with Tsunade instead of joining him—and was driven into impotent fury.

Back in Root, after venting his anger, he began to think about his next move.

And this "world-shaking genius" decided—he would go directly after Kakashi Hatake!

Since Kakashi had created the genjutsu gas, capturing him would an seizing everything.

Though such a move would enrage the Hokage's faction and bring huge risks if discovered, the potential gains made it, in his mind, worth it.
