Finding the public location of Fredric Black was not as difficult as Fenrir had expected.

As an ’S’ class ranker, Fredric was soone constantly under watch—whether for protection or out of fear.

His movents, scheduled appearances, and even the buildings he frequented were all docunted, either by fanatics or those too cautious to cross him unknowingly.

Fenrir followed that trail with ease.

The mont he reached the towering glass-fronted business building that bore the na "Black Corporation," he knew he was in the right place.

It was sleek, modern, and fortified—an edifice of power and money.

He stepped through the automatic doors into a spotless lobby, the cool hum of air-conditioning and the scent of luxury instantly hitting him.

Before he could get far, however, a pair of uniford security guards stepped in front of him.

"Excuse , sir. Do you have an appointnt?"

One of them asked with polite firmness.

"I’m here to et Fredric Black. I’m his brother."

Fenrir replied evenly.

The two guards exchanged a skeptical glance.

"We’ll need to see your ID. Or any docuntation proving your identity."

The second one said.

"I don’t have any."

Fenrir admitted, expression flat.

The people at the front desk gave him a flat look, and it was clear that they did not believe a word he had said.

Within seconds, they were escorting him out of the building.

Feeling agitated and slightly humiliated from being thrown out, Fenrir decided he’d had enough of following the rules.

If his brother didn’t want to acknowledge him the proper way, then there was no point in showing up politely at the front desk.

He circled around the side of the building and located a blind spot in the surveillance—a small service entrance used by staff.

With his system’s help, he disabled the lock and slipped in without triggering any alarms.

Navigating the interior was even easier.

His system marked out every patrol route and cara feed, guiding him through corridors and stairwells with precision.

No one noticed him as he made his way up to the top floor—Fredric Black’s personal domain.

The door to the office was heavy, but it yielded to Fenrir’s system override.

He stepped inside the spacious room, lined with sleek black furniture and floor-to-ceiling windows that overlooked the city.

Without hesitation, Fenrir sank into the large leather chair behind the desk, resting his chin on his hand as he waited.

Minutes later, the office door opened again.

A tall man stepped in—broad-shouldered, immaculately dressed, and radiating pressure.

Dangerous.

That was the first word that crossed Fenrir’s mind. This man didn’t just have power—he knew how to use it.

Fredric froze mid-step, his eyes narrowing. The air in the room thickened as he released a sliver of his aura, testing the intruder.

Fenrir held his ground.

Fredric’s face contorted with disbelief and anger as he finally registered who was standing before him.

His aura, still thick with hostility, evaporated as his shock took precedence. He blinked, his gaze locked on Fenrir. For a mont, it felt as though ti had stopped.

Fenrir t his brother’s gaze with an unwavering calm. His presence, the sheer nonchalance, contrasted sharply with the tension in Fredric’s office.

There was a palpable silence, thick enough to suffocate the space between them.

But then, Fenrir’s focus shifted slightly to the side, catching the eyes of soone who had been standing quietly by the door.

Louis, Fredric’s secretary, flinched upon their eye contact, as if he had been caught in the middle of sothing he wasn’t supposed to witness.

Louis tried to retreat, stamring.

"I-I’ll just, uh, go check on the schedule—"

Fenrir’s voice was calm but firm, stopping him mid-sentence.

"No, Louis. Stay. This is about family. You can’t run from it."

Fredric turned sharply to face Louis, his expression cold but not angry.

Louis, ever the dutiful secretary, looked troubled but quickly composed himself, offering a stiff bow before stepping out.

He muttered sothing about "urgent etings," but it was clear he wanted nothing to do with this conversation.

As the door clicked shut behind him, Fredric let out a long breath, visibly trying to regain control of his emotions.

His posture softened, though the weariness in his eyes didn’t go unnoticed by Fenrir.

"Alright. What do you want, Fenrir? Do you know how dangerous it is for you to be wandering around without protection? You can’t just—"

Fredric’s voice was calm now, but there was still an underlying edge to it.

"Save it. I don’t need protection. I’m capable of handling myself now."

Fenrir interrupted, brushing aside his brother’s concern with a wave of his hand.

Fredric’s eyes widened. He took a step back, disbelief washing over his face.

"What do you an you’re capable? When did you awaken? Why wasn’t I inford?"

His tone dropped, suddenly more serious.

Fenrir t his gaze head-on.

"I awakened a while ago. You didn’t need to know. I didn’t need your help to do it."

He said, his voice steady and sure.

Fredric’s frustration seed to boil over, though he kept it contained.

His hand slamd down on the desk with a force that shook the papers scattered on it.

"This is insane. You’re just going to walk away from everything, from the life I’ve worked to build for you? You don’t even have a plan, do you? You can’t just leave and ’figure it out.’ You’re putting yourself in danger!"

Fenrir didn’t flinch.

"I’ve already figured it out. I don’t need your money anymore. I can support myself."

He replied, his words cutting through the tension in the room.

At those words, Fredric’s face twisted in frustration.

"You don’t understand what you’re saying! This isn’t about money, Fenrir. You don’t just get to cut ties with and act like everything’s fine. You’re not ready for this world! You think because you’ve ’awakened,’ that makes you invincible? I’ve seen the dangers out there. You’re still a kid in my eyes."

Fenrir’s eyes narrowed, but he didn’t allow his anger to show. His posture stiffened.

"I’m not a kid anymore, Fredric. I’ve spent enough ti in the dark to know how to navigate this world. And I don’t need your protection or your charity. I’m making my own way."

Fredric’s hand clenched into a fist, and his aura flared in response, a storm of power threatening to spill over.

"I don’t care what you think. I’ve done everything to keep you safe, and now you’re just throwing it all away? I raised you, Fenrir. And this is how you repay ? By rejecting everything I’ve worked for?"

He snapped, his voice low and dangerous.

The argunt got more and more heated. Both sides were unwilling to give up at this point.

’Tsk. at this rate, I don’t think our arrangent I want will work out. However, I am clear about one thing. This older brother of mine is not as aloof as he pretends to be. I can make sure of it.’

Well, Fenrir had a plan now so he decided to put it to use.

If he succeeded, he would have a powerful alley on his side. And if not...then at least one obstacle would be added to his future today.
