Chapter 174
The cheers were still echoing when I raised the microphone again, grinning at the crowd.
"Alright guys, let’s keep the music going!"
A fresh beat dropped—this ti it was Billionaire (Travie McCoy feat Bruno Mars)
I started singing, jumping straight into the groove:

Paige murmured to Cher and Regina, "I have the feeling he already is," earning nods from both of them

"He is a little delusional," Miley mocked, probably still mad about what I said earlier. Missy was looking at her like she had no idea—though even Missy didn’t know I was actually a billionaire.
I repeated the chorus again:

Yeah, not singing Travie’s part—too many future occurrences. "Yeah, I didn’t finish that song, and the next one explains why," I added with a smirk, and I started a new song:

"Why are you two looking at ? I’ve never seen that before!" Paige said blushing as Regina and Cher looked at her suspiciously
"Why do I feel like I’ve heard him a lot before?" Miley asked, her tone puzzled.
The answer ca right after, as I started singing Sothing Just Like This followed by Closer.
♪We ain’t ever getting older
No, we ain’t ever getting older♪
As the last lines of Closer echoed through the speakers, I gave the DJ a thumbs up. He nodded and took over, seamlessly transitioning into another hit from Marshllo. The beat dropped and the crowd kept jumping and dancing as the new song pulsed through the party.
I made my way over to Pippa and kissed her
Cara and Freddie approached us, both grinning.
"You really know how to do a show, Jake," Cara comnted.
"Nice one, man. I recorded everything," Freddie added proudly.
Then both of them launched into a lovey-dovey conversation, which made pull Pippa aside to sowhere.
I approached Missy’s group, catching Miley mid-complaint to Lilly. "Why did it have to be that annoying guy singing two of my favorite songs?" she muttered, clearly frustrated.
"But you can’t deny that he was cool and sings very well," Lilly chid in.
Miley glared at Lilly, making her stop. I approached them again.
Mikayla stepped forward with a bright smile. "I didn’t know you were the one that sings those Marshllo songs. You’re so good!" she said, beaming.
"Yeah, people are usually surprised to find that out. You might not know there’s a famous singer standing right next to us..." I spoke
Miley coughed
I was already about to head toward another group of people when Carly and Sam joined us, stepping into the circle—also wanting to chat with Mikayla.
Carly looked at with a smirk. "The Lazy Song is basically your anthem, Jake."
I gasped. "How could you say that, Carly?" I said dramatically.
"You sleep in class almost every day, Jake. I have to wake you up from ti to ti," Pippa added with a straight face.
I put a hand over my chest, feigning offense. "Et tu, Pip?" I chuckled. "I’m being betrayed from all sides tonight."
"But he doesn’t do it all the ti. He texts , Paige, and other girls too, from what I know," Britney said, altering her voice so she wouldn’t be recognized as she joined the conversation.
"I don’t know if you’re trying to help , Brit..." I said, giving her a sidelong glance.
The group chuckled a bit more before gradually dispersing into the crowd, each drawn by the different attractions popping up across the venue. The party carried on in full swing—there were gas, contests, mini-competitions, and even surprise performances. By the end of the night, it was already being crowned as the best school party of the year.
