Chapter 141
"What??" Missy exclaid.
"Not for ," Sam cut in. "I got a year of all-you-can-eat... and sothing more."
"He didn’t want to give one to either," Paige huffed, crossing her arms.
"I give you house and food, you want more, Paige?" I raised a brow.
Paige rolled her eyes.
"And you are 13..." I continued, "What do you an it’s nothing? That’s a three-grand notebook. Don’t lose your sense of money."
She looked at with puppy eyes. "I will not, daddy."
I lightly tapped her forehead. "Where the hell are you learning this kind of thing? I’m grounding you, young lady."
Paige just stuck out her tongue at .
I turned to Missy and Paige. "If you two behave, I’ll get you both a car too when you get older."
"Wow, now I’m grateful that my brother is a genius, or I wouldn’t have t Jake," Missy grinned.
"You’re cute, so you might’ve t him," Paige replied, tilting her head. "But then again, you’re only 13... so it wouldn’t have happened any ti soon."
"Why are you slandering , Paige? Your handso older brother," I said with mock offense.
"You’re always surrounded by pretty girls. And usually older ones," she teased. "Did you ever kiss a girl younger than you?"
"Okay, you are right, smartass," I said. "And no, never kissed a girl younger than ."
Missy leaned in with a smirk. "Wanna try it?"
Paige narrowed her eyes slightly. "I thought you had given up on Jake."
Missy shrugged. "Yeah, before I knew he’s Marshllo. Hollywood vibes—he’ll probably end up with more than one girl."
"Why is everyone slandering ?" I groaned, walking over to Carly and resting my chin on her head.
"You’re reaping what you sow," Carly replied, amused.
Sam leaned back in her chair, biting into a piece of toast. "Honestly, I think Jake enjoys the attention. He pretends to suffer, but if no one teased him, he’d feel unloved."
"That’s not true," I said, chin still resting on Carly.
"It is," she replied. "You’re basically a golden retriever with money and a recording album."
"Now you are being all young gan, Carly," I said.
"What?" Carly looked at weirdly, not understanding.
The five of us kept talking for a while longer

I arrived at the restaurant, a cozy spot with outdoor seating and tall ivy walls. Scarlett was already there, dressed casually in jeans and a blouse, waving when she saw . As we sat down, I smiled.
"Hey."
"Hey," she returned with a smirk, settling into her seat.
But before we could even look at the nu, I heard a familiar voice behind .
"He had to bring her here? It’s my birthday," soone whispered sharply.
"Claire, they’re engaged," another voice replied.
"Mitch, since when are you the nice one?"
"Are you okay?" Scarlett asked, noticing my expression.
"Yeah, just... hearing sothing."
Then Jay, Gloria, and Manny walked up. Manny recognized
"That’s him! He’s the one who kicked out!" he blurted.
I turned around and spotted Haley behind them, trying to hide her face behind a nu.
"Wait... I know him," Phil said, looking to . "He’s Jake Harper. Evelyn Harper’s grandson. I t him in a party for his grandmother"
"Evelyn Harper?" Jay blinked. "She’s an old friend of mine. She’s the one who sold my house."
I facepald. You must be kidding .
Now this mash up series is biting in the ass.
Just then, a man nearby let out a high-pitched scream.
"Cam!" Mitch snapped.
"Mitchell! That’s Scarlett Johansson—from Lost in Translation!"
Scarlett opened a smile, noticeably amused by the scene (And probably flattered to be recognized. Lost in Translation is a breakout performance for her), while my eye twitched in disbelief.
Before I could even attempt to escape, Jay was already waving at us. "Jake! You should co sit with us. We have space."
Scarlett raised an eyebrow
I sighed.
A few minutes later, we found ourselves at the long table with all of them—Claire, Phil, Haley, Luke, Alex, Mitchell, Cam, Jay, Gloria, and Manny, who was still side-eyeing like I stole his lunch money.
Jay extended a hand toward , eyeing with a mix of recognition and nostalgia. "Jake Harper... you’ve really grown up; I t you when you were a small kid. I haven’t seen your grandmother in years. How is Evelyn doing?"
"She is doing great," I muttered.
Scarlett was already scanning the nu
Cam leaned toward her. "I loved you in Lost in Traslation. Truly devastating."
"Thanks," Scarlett smiled politely.
I leaned closer to her and whispered, "Why are we here with them?"
"Because it seems funny," she replied with a wide grin.
I stared at her. "I thought you liked ."
She just laughed.
"So... you are the one that kicked Haley’s ass," Alex said from across the table.
"Shut up, Alex," Haley hissed, then turned to , her tone switching completely. "Please, don’t ban from your parties," she added with a pleading look.
"You will not go to any more, young lady," Claire jumped in sternly.
"Kiddo, stop staring," I said to Manny. "I know Scarlett has so incredible attributes, but you need to learn a little restraint."
Scarlett pinched hard under the table, while Gloria turned to Manny with a sharp tone. "Manny!"
Manny straightened up imdiately. "Sorry. Polite apologies, ma’am."
And then, with complete innocence, Manny muttered, "You always take all the girls I liked... this is the third ti," his tone slightly indignant.
Scarlett turned to , smiling.
"I don’t know what he’s talking about—you’re the only one for ." I put a hand over my heart, mock-affected.
She just rolled her eyes and bumped her shoulder into mine.
