South Sea, Jinmu Cafe.
Su Manman’s body shuddered at the ntion of the word "Hunter."
Her wide eyes fixed incredulously on Li Yang.
Clearly, the "Hunter" Li Yang referred to was not the "Hunter" from the internet cafe.
Su Manman never expected that the term "Hunter" would be brought up again!
Li Yang observed every expression on Su Manman’s face.
He beca even more certain that this woman truly knew about the mysterious Hunters.
After her brief change of expression, Su Manman steadied herself and sat across from Li Yang:
"What if I don’t say anything?"
Li Yang gently rubbed the brim of his hat with his index finger and softly said:
"You die."
Su Manman’s delicate brows furrowed:
"Would you really kill ?"
Su Manman was a beauty, soone no man could refuse.
However, Su Manman never considered her beauty an asset.
Su Manman had two trump cards.
First, she managed the Foundation Forum’s backend, and in the world, no one else could maintain the Foundation Forum like her.
Second, if she was killed, Li Yang would completely lose any intel on the "Hunter."
Li Yang looked intently into Su Manman’s eyes:
"I would."
Su Manman felt the unmistakable killing intent emanating from Li Yang.
Her eyes twitched, and she instinctively swallowed.
Su Manman and Li Yang locked eyes for a mont before she sighed deeply:
"If I tell you, would you even believe ?"
Li Yang’s eyes flickered:
"I’ll know whether to believe you after you tell . First, how old are you?"
Su Manman gave a bitter smile:
"I’ve forgotten much; I don’t even know how old I am this year."
Li Yang took out a cigarette from his pocket, resembling a tea drinker ready to hear a story:
"Go on."
Su Manman pursed her lips, took a deep breath, and solemnly said:
"As I said, I’ve forgotten a lot.
However, there are fragnts of mories, faint recollections of certain events."
Su Manman’s gaze turned vacant:
"In those mories, there are many extraordinary individuals, very powerful, who called themselves ’Hunters.’
And I was their companion, perhaps I was a ’Hunter’ too."
Li Yang exhaled a plu of smoke:
"Continue."
Su Manman sank into her mories and continued:
"I can’t clearly recall the past, but there was soone crucial in my mind.
That person was despicable, using any ans to achieve their goals."
She emphasized "crucial" heavily.
As she spoke, Su Manman glanced at Li Yang:
"He was like you, using tyrannical thods to rob others of their freedom."
Li Yang’s mind wandered.
Robbing others of their freedom?
He used the Desire Magic Jar to control a demon; could the person Su Manman ntioned have a similar thod?
Su Manman suddenly let out a mocking laugh, shaking her head self-deprecatingly:
"Sounds strange, right?
I forget his appearance, his na even, yet I know he’s vital.
But I rember so of his habits.
I know he likes coffee, enjoys fruit cake, and loves reading books.
Sotis I wonder if I’m crazy, if those mory fragnts are delusions, fake.
But......"
Su Manman looked seriously at Li Yang:
"You ntioned the Hunters as well, confirming I’m not losing my mind."
Li Yang took a tissue from the box on the table, flicked the ash on it, and asked:
"Is that all?"
Su Manman nodded:
"That’s it."
Li Yang uttered a simple "Oh."
Su Manman stared into Li Yang’s eyes:
"Do you believe ?"
Li Yang shook his head and snapped his fingers:
"I don’t."
Following the crisp snap, a magic circle appeared on the floor beneath Su Manman.
Several rotting arms reached out from the magic circle.
As if ghostly hands from Hell clutching at a mortal, ready to drag them into Hell to suffer alongside them.
Su Manman’s beautiful eyes filled with horror, her face turned ashen.
She never expected Li Yang to act so decisively against her!
Clearly, she was telling the truth!
Su Manman suddenly turned her eyes to Li Yang.
This man was more and more like the person in her mories.
Overly suspicious, eliminating any minor threat.
Clearly, her staying alive was more valuable to him!
The undead from the magic circle grabbed Su Manman’s legs, trying their hardest to climb out of the circle.
Su Manman closed her eyes in despair.
She had wanted to wait for that crucial person from her mories in this cafe, but it seed that was not to be.
"Amitabha Buddha!"
A monk’s chant resounded from nowhere.
The undead about to crawl out of the ground clutched their heads in agony and slowly dissipated into the cafe following the chant.
Li Yang turned to look towards the entrance of Jinmu Cafe.
There stood, or rather floated, a monk in a white kasaya.
This monk was transparent, a ghost.
Li Yang raised an eyebrow:
"It’s you?"
This was the third ti Li Yang had seen this mysterious monk.
The first was in a dream, where Li Yang told the mysterious monk, "Without desire, how can there be bliss?"
The second was in a photo, among the deep sea corpses sent by Cao Yi, one of them being this mysterious monk.
The third ti was here, witnessing the ghost of the mysterious monk.
The mysterious monk floated to Su Manman, clasping his hands:
"Bodhisattva, I hope you’re well."
Su Manman looked completely taken aback.
She had no recollection of this monk.
However, she realized he was a ghost.
The mysterious monk sighed, speaking with a tone of compassion:
"You’re too fixated on these mories, which serve as shackles and pain for you.
Let wipe those mories away for you."
With that, the mysterious monk reached out towards Su Manman.
Su Manman imdiately snapped back to reality.
If her mories were erased, she would never rember that important person again?
She shook her head repeatedly:
"No, no, don’t..."
The monk was unmoved by the beauty’s plea, releasing spiritual power from himself.
Su Manman wanted to struggle, but found herself unable to move.
She cast a pleading glance at Li Yang, who was indifferently watching the drama unfold.
A stream of black fla shot from Li Yang’s hand.
The monk dodged to the side, looking at the opposing Li Yang.
Li Yang took a drag from his cigarette and asked:
"Aren’t you taking too lightly?"
The monk scrutinized Li Yang closely, noticing he had reached Tier Six.
Suppressing the shock in his eyes, he chuckled:
"Last ti we t, you were a Tier Four, and in a re year, you’ve reached Tier Six!
You’re a genius among geniuses; only that ancient figure could compare."
Li Yang pressed his cigarette out:
"Quite the chatterbox."
The monk clasped his hands together:
"Even if you’ve reached Tier Six, you might not match .
If you insist on intervening, let’s shift this elsewhere.
I wish not for your rashness to cause harm to the innocents here."
Li Yang stood up:
"Let’s discuss it outside."
With that, a magic circle appeared beneath Li Yang, and a massive undead whale poked its head out, swallowing Li Yang whole.
Subsequently, Li Yang vanished from the cafe.
Li Yang’s intervention against the monk wasn’t for Su Manman.
He was interested in the secrets of the "Hunters."
Originally, Li Yang hadn’t intended to kill Su Manman; he just wanted to prevent her from causing unnecessary trouble and intended to confine her in the Undead Space for interrogation.
The monk’s intention to erase Su Manman’s mories breached Li Yang’s limits.
Moreover, the monk surely knew sothing about the "Hunters." Better to subdue the monk first.
