Inside the room, Eleanor Sterling received a ssage saying Wendy Carson went to Xavier Keating’s study.
She imdiately realized there might be sothing wrong.
Just as she wanted to find soone to ask what was going on, Alaric Faulkner walked in from outside.
"You’re here just in ti, I just received word that Wendy Carson went to Xavier Keating’s place, I’m a bit worried and want to investigate."
Alaric Faulkner pressed her back into her seat, looking at Eleanor and said, "Just found out that Wendy Warren’s cousin has been too close with a servant at Xavier Keating’s place."
Eleanor Sterling’s eyes instantly overflowed with a sharp edge.
"So her cousin indeed has issues? What’s she planning to do to Wendy Carson and my brother?"
Alaric Faulkner shook his head, "Not sure, but we can interrogate her."
Eleanor Sterling laughed, "So you were waiting for to interrogate together, right? Fine, then bring her here."
In no ti, a bodyguard brought a maid over.
The maid hadn’t expected to be caught so soon after doing sothing bad; seeing Eleanor Sterling, her face turned pale instantly.
Eleanor Sterling looked at her coolly and said, not in a hurry, "What did you do to my brother? Co clean now!"
This maid’s son was deep in debt due to gambling; although her salary at the Keating Family was decent, it wasn’t enough to pay off such debts.
Thus, when Giselle Keating tempted her, she was blinded and betrayed her employer.
Now that Eleanor Sterling found out, she dared not hide anything and confessed everything, hoping Eleanor would pardon her.
"Miss... Miss, I didn’t an to, it was because they paid that I... I did it, please spare ."
She pleaded anxiously after finishing, then started to kowtow on the ground trying to soften Eleanor’s heart.
Those who betray their masters don’t end up well; she was worried from the onset about being exposed, originally planning to resign, but Eleanor was so quick she hadn’t made any move before being caught.
Eleanor Sterling coldly asked, "What did that person ask you to do?"
"She... she told to tamper with the tea of the young master, give it to him, and watched him drink it."
Eleanor Sterling frowned, her expression quickly turning grave.
"Did he drink it?"
"He drank it."
At that mont, Eleanor thought Wendy Warren wanted to have sothing happen with Xavier Keating, and in her urgency, she pulled Alaric Faulkner wanting to help.
But Alaric Faulkner felt it wasn’t that simple, he asked the maid a further question.
"Did Wendy Warren instruct you to do this?"
The maid shook her head quickly, saying, "No, it was Miss Warren’s cousin."
Eleanor Sterling halted, though she knew earlier it was Wendy Warren’s cousin, wasn’t her cousin supposed to be doing her bidding?
"Later I saw Miss Carson arrive, and then you all brought here."
Eleanor was repeatedly shocked, unable to process for a mont, her expression rather bewildered.
So, Wendy Warren’s cousin wasn’t putting Wendy Warren and Xavier Keating together but wanted Wendy Carson and Xavier Keating together?
What the heck is this twist?
Alaric Faulkner looked at Eleanor, his thin lips curled into a mischievous smile, and said, "Eleanor, I told you before, let them get together, now we don’t even need to intervene."
"..."
Indeed, it was quite surprising, completely dumbfounding.
