The Foster Family was in chaos.
Miles Foster brought Henry Foster’s body back to the Foster household and inford the old master that Thomas Quincy had struck Henry down when he went to exchange hostages with him.
Seeing Henry, lifeless, the Foster family patriarch’s face turned dark with anger.
He had only two sons, Henry and Miles, and now Henry had died at Thomas Quincy’s hands. How could he swallow this?
"Thomas Quincy! Damn Thomas Quincy, the feud between us is irreconcilable!"
The head of the Foster Family gritted his teeth, wishing he could tear Thomas Quincy to pieces.
No one would suspect Miles of harming Henry, of committing fratricide.
At this mont, the elders of the Foster Family stepped forward to examine Henry’s body and said, "The poison in the master’s body is indeed from Thomas Quincy; this toxin is extrely severe, kills instantly, with no chance of cure."
The old master of the Foster Family spoke harshly: "Issue the order, from today, the Foster Family and the Quincy Family are officially at odds!"
Miles Foster barely suppressed a cold smile.
Now the position of head of the Foster Family was his.
Moreover, he had arranged a fine show on Thomas Quincy’s side, which should be about to unfold.
By the ti Nancy Nash finds out, she will probably misunderstand Thomas Quincy, and he could then easily capture the beauty’s heart, gain the Nash Family’s support, and ultimately destroy the Quincy Family.
His ambition was indeed grand.
...
After Thomas Quincy finished the call with Eleanor Sterling, he decided to take Clara Thornton back to the Quincy ho first.
The driver was in the front, and he and Clara sat in the back seat. Now that Clara had seen the real person, she recalled that awkward incident.
Clara didn’t dare to look at Thomas Quincy at all.
Previously, Clara spoke a lot and often quarreled with him, but now her quietness surprised Thomas Quincy.
He glanced at Clara, asking, "Has the poison not been completely resolved?"
Clara replied sullenly, "It’s completely resolved already."
She was soone who couldn’t hide things; thinking it was better to speak openly.
So, she coughed lightly and said, "I’ve already heard about that matter from Eleanor."
"What matter?" Thomas Quincy raised an eyebrow.
Clara bit her lip lightly, wondering if he was playing dumb. Didn’t he know what it was? Did he really want her to say it?
"The matter I misunderstood."
Thomas realized, sneeringly saying, "Are you foolish, running away because of that misunderstanding, making Eleanor worry as she searched for you everywhere?"
Clara, who had been sowhat intimidated, was now irritable upon hearing this and said, "Shut up! Did I ask you to speak?"
Seeing her return to her lively self, Thomas Quincy finally smiled.
She was more like herself this way; her being too quiet was sothing he was unaccustod to.
Clara took a deep breath, "Anyway, that’s how it is. Despite the misunderstanding, I still have to thank you for saving ."
Thomas Quincy revealed a playfully amused smile, "So how do you plan on thanking ?"
"I..."
Clara wanted to say sothing, but suddenly felt sothing was wrong with her body. Why did this feeling resemble last ti?
She looked at Thomas Quincy, "Hey, Thomas, I think I might be drugged again."
Thomas Quincy’s handso face imdiately turned grim, as he realized he, too, seed to have an anomaly in his body.
Ordinary people couldn’t drug him, as he was the head of the Quincy Family, a poison expert, but in monts of being distracted or preoccupied, it was still possible.
So, was it Miles who drugged them just now?
The drug was on Clara Thornton!
He contracted the drug from her when he embraced her, which explains why Miles said he had staged a great show for him.
Damn it!
With tightly clenched teeth, Thomas Quincy cursed Miles in a low voice.
