A train slowly stopped in front of a villa on a secluded street.

Jasper Faulkner arrived at the address given by the kidnapper as promised. After walking for a while, he wanted to take out his phone to see if Alaric Faulkner had contacted him.

Unexpectedly, he found that there was not a single bar of signal on his phone, so he could only put the phone away.

There were only about ten people accompanying him, all skilled bodyguards. He wasn’t too worried about any ambush inside the villa; he felt he could fight to the death to bring people out.

"Second Young Master." A bodyguard reminded, then handed the weapon to Jasper Faulkner.

"Follow inside."

They were just about to get off the car when another car sped over, then swerved in front of his car, with a sharp screech of brakes suddenly ringing out.

Jasper Faulkner was startled, and he looked at the car warily.

The bodyguards behind also took cover using their own car, aiming their weapons at the newcors.

The car door opened, and Alaric Faulkner appeared in front of them.

Jasper Faulkner was taken aback and asked in surprise, "Brother, why did you co? You got my ssage?"

But why did Alaric Faulkner co alone and empty-handed?

Alaric Faulkner stepped forward, looking at him, "Your phone doesn’t have signal."

"Yes, I just tried to contact you and found out about this."

However, he didn’t pay it much mind, only thinking about rescuing people.

Alaric Faulkner’s expression was grim as he gritted his teeth, "Is your brain full of mush? You can’t see that sothing’s off?"

Being scolded by his own brother, Jasper Faulkner felt a bit helpless, his brows furrowing.

"That person stopped you from contacting outsiders because he’s afraid you’d see through the sche. He doesn’t have any hostages!"

Jasper Faulkner was shocked, looking at Alaric Faulkner in astonishnt, "What did you say? The child isn’t in his hands? Is it an empty city tactic?"

Alaric Faulkner let out a cold laugh, "There’s no one in the villa, because Samuel Langley is under our protection, I’ve already confird he’s safe and sound."

Knowing that Samuel Langley was their hope, and also Hazel Langley’s son, how could Alaric Faulkner not send people to protect him well?

Jasper Faulkner was a bit dumbfounded by what he heard.

He looked at Alaric Faulkner and asked, "Is the child in your hands?"

"Of course, we intervened to protect him early on. There’s no way the other side could intervene and take him away, they must have another purpose."

With this reminder, Jasper Faulkner’s mind no longer fogged.

He slowly realized sothing.

The next second, Jasper Faulkner’s face turned pale, "Oh no! Hazel! Did sothing happen to her? Is she still at the Faulkner Family?"

Alaric Faulkner frowned, he hadn’t thought of that.

He asked, "Did you arrange for anyone to protect her when you left?"

Jasper Faulkner shook his head, "The Faulkner Family is very safe, so there was no one around the villa, but there are people at the door."

"The other side’s target is likely Hazel Langley."

Alaric Faulkner instantly understood. First, make Jasper Faulkner leave, then both he and Eleanor Sterling would be distracted, making it easy to act against Hazel Langley there.

If they targeted Hazel Langley, it would tie them all up, that’s the point of this empty city tactic.

"Return quickly!"

Because there was no signal on the phone, Jasper Faulkner was eager to hurry back to personally ensure Hazel Langley’s safety.

Alaric Faulkner opened the car door to get in, saying before boarding, "Once we leave this area, mobile communication should be restored. Let’s go."
