While Eleanor Sterling was in a daze, Clara Thornton’s furious voice ca from the laboratory.
"You don’t know shit!"
"How could I not know? This is the Quincy Family’s inherited poison, and I’m most familiar with all its properties."
"So what? I say it’s not, so it’s not."
"You are simply unreasonable."
...
Eleanor Sterling imdiately stood up and walked towards the laboratory to see what Thomas Quincy and Clara Thornton were arguing about.
Once inside, she saw the two at daggers drawn.
They were both wearing protective suits and goggles, Clara Thornton’s eyes seed to be on fire as she rudely stared at Thomas Quincy.
"Is sothing wrong?"
Upon seeing Eleanor Sterling, Clara Thornton imdiately left Thomas Quincy and ca over, "Why are you out here? Get out! It’s too dangerous in here."
Eleanor Sterling smiled, considering her current situation, she shouldn’t be afraid of any danger.
But to relieve everyone’s worry, Eleanor Sterling obediently walked out.
A mont later, Clara Thornton and Thomas Quincy walked out.
Both had sowhat grim looks on their faces, especially Clara Thornton, who had a particularly foul expression.
They took off their protective suits and went through a full-body disinfection before approaching Eleanor Sterling.
Eleanor Sterling looked at Clara Thornton and asked, "Did sothing happen?"
Thomas Quincy smirked, his tone exceptionally mocking, "Her formula for drug properties was wrong; once I pointed it out, she got angry out of embarrassnt, and it turned out she really was wrong."
Clara Thornton rolled her eyes at him, annoyed, "No one thinks you’re mute if you don’t speak!"
She had always been smart and had never made such a big mistake, but once Thomas Quincy arrived and started to ddle, wanting to prove herself, she ended up making frequent mistakes.
Thomas Quincy snorted lightly, giving her a sideways glance, his expression sarcastic.
It was this look that almost made Clara Thornton explode again.
Eleanor Sterling hurriedly went forward to diate, "Alright, calm down, both of you. How are the results of the toxin research?"
Thomas Quincy looked confident as he snorted, "The toxin you’re researching is the Scarlet Prelude, the Quincy Family’s ancient poison. You won’t be able to decipher it."
Eleanor Sterling was startled, "What!"
How could such a coincidence exist in the world?
Could Fenrir possibly know Thomas Quincy?
Eleanor Sterling squinted her eyes, carefully studying Thomas Quincy’s appearance.
Noticing Eleanor Sterling’s gaze fixed on him, Thomas Quincy smiled confidently and said, "Why are you looking at like that? Could you be falling in love with ?"
"..."
Is this person really so narcissistic?
Eleanor Sterling rolled her eyes sharply and then asked, "Thomas Quincy, do you know Fenrir?"
"Nope."
"Then... has the Quincy Family’s poison ever been stolen?"
Upon hearing this, Thomas Quincy was silent for a mont, "It was stolen once, but I made it again later."
Eleanor Sterling felt as if she was about to uncover Fenrir’s identity. She excitedly grabbed Thomas Quincy and asked, "Who stole it? Do you know? That person could very likely be the one who poisoned Alaric Faulkner."
Thomas Quincy shook his head, "I don’t know either."
Thinking she was about to solve the case, Eleanor Sterling was unexpectedly disappointed, feeling a bit speechless.
But now, the most important thing is to find an antidote.
Since it’s the sa type of poison, wouldn’t that make it easier? Thomas Quincy surely has an antidote, so she doesn’t need to use poison against poison.
Eleanor Sterling reached out towards him, "Give the antidote."
"What antidote?"
"The antidote for the Scarlet Prelude."
"There isn’t one."
Eleanor Sterling frowned, her expression turning grim, "How could there not be? Don’t trick ."
"Ugh, there really isn’t one! This poison’s secret recipe only has the poison itself, and no antidote."
