Silas Hawthorne hurriedly stord into Warren Hawthorne’s study.
He was still in a video conference with Hawthorne Group’s senior managent. Seeing Silas enter anxiously, Warren Hawthorne couldn’t help but frown.
"We’ll end today’s eting here for now."
After he finished speaking, Warren ended the video conference.
With a displeased expression, he looked at Silas and asked, "What’s the matter?"
Silas ca in and sat down across from him, "Dad, is the news online true? Eleanor isn’t your biological daughter?"
His tone carried an urgency he hadn’t even realized.
The mont he saw the news, he was shocked and it took him quite a while to process the information.
If Eleanor Sterling isn’t related to him by blood, then does that an...
Almost at the thought of it, Silas couldn’t hold back; he imdiately ca to Warren to ask about it.
Warren had no idea what was on Silas’s mind. He pondered for a mont and sighed, "I’ve known about this for a while."
Eleanor had discussed the matter of the test with him before, but now he didn’t know why it suddenly got exposed.
Silas felt elated and surprised inside; he didn’t expect Eleanor to really not be his sister.
"Whether she is or not, I’ve always considered her my daughter, just like with Alaric and Jeanette." Warren said with a firm tone.
He always felt regret in his heart; he didn’t want to dig deep into past matters, yet he didn’t want to sever his connection with Jeanette Jennings either.
He was willing to treat Eleanor as his own daughter.
Silas couldn’t hear what Warren was saying anymore; he only knew that Eleanor wasn’t related to him by blood.
"Go and suppress that news so it doesn’t have any impact."
"Alright, I’ll go imdiately."
Silas stood up and walked out.
With both the Hawthorne and Jennings families taking action simultaneously, the news was extinguished without making any waves, even before any marketing could occur.
It went entirely unnoticed, like nothing more than a faint rumor, having no impact whatsoever.
Although the situation was handled, Eleanor Sterling, who was far away with the Keating Family, still received the news.
"I knew this would eventually be used against ; it’s finally co."
When she found out she wasn’t related to the Jennings Family, Eleanor had this premonition.
The exposed test was forged, but soone must have known the truth to fabricate such a thing.
Who could know about her true identity?
Eleanor felt she was grasping sothing important, but when she thought carefully, it eluded her.
Alaric Faulkner encircled her waist with his arm, asking, "The news was suppressed shortly after it ca out. It seems neither the Hawthorne nor Jennings families care."
Eleanor’s eyes darkened, "Warren Hawthorne knew about it long ago, but the Jennings Family...they don’t believe it."
She turned to Alaric and said, "Let’s return to Aethelgard. I need to explain to Mr. and Mrs. Jennings personally."
They treated her so well, she couldn’t bear to usurp the identity of their granddaughter.
What if, one day, the real one showed up?
Having called them grandpa and grandma for so long, suddenly changing how she addressed them felt a bit upsetting to Eleanor.
She sighed deeply, feeling sowhat agitated.
Seeing this, Alaric imdiately embraced her tightly, "Don’t overthink it. Have you forgotten what I told you?"
Eleanor looked up at him, and then slowly smiled, "I rember, you said that no matter what happens, you and the child will always be by my side."
Alaric stroked her cheek and said, "Since you want to go back, we’ll head back tomorrow."
"Okay."
With Alaric by her side, Eleanor didn’t panic at all.
Just as Alaric said, having him was enough.
