"No, I can afford it."
Jonathan Jennings was furious and slamd the table, "What, do you want to keep Eleanor and the child as a mistress? Let tell you, as long as I’m alive, you can forget about it!"
Alaric Faulkner felt that Jonathan Jennings’s thoughts were too erratic, and he was already having so difficulty keeping up.
However, in front of him, Alaric Faulkner still tried to remain calm and composed.
He curved his lips into a smile and said warmly, "That’s not what I an. I will marry Eleanor and won’t let her or the child suffer any injustice."
"What do you plan to do with that woman?"
"I will not marry her," Alaric Faulkner said firmly.
Hearing this, so of the anger in Jonathan Jennings subsided, and he scrutinized Alaric Faulkner.
"Are you Dexter Faulkner’s grandson?"
"That’s correct, he’s my grandfather."
The Faulkner Family is quite prominent in Aethelgard, so Eleanor marrying into it wouldn’t be a loss.
Although the Jennings Family and the Faulkner Family have different businesses, the Faulkner Family being in comrce, and the Jennings Family being more militaristic.
But Jonathan Jennings still hoped that Eleanor could marry well.
Jonathan Jennings didn’t say much more, only giving a cold snort and slightly warning, "Anyway, if I don’t see a satisfactory result, don’t think you can approach Eleanor in the future."
Mrs. Jennings interjected, "I rember Silas seems to like Eleanor as well.
And he doesn’t mind Eleanor’s child. Don’t think you’re the only one who would like Eleanor."
Alaric Faulkner’s brows furrowed, and a trace of dangerous aura flashed in his eyes, which he quickly concealed.
Indeed, the Jennings Family was planning to pair Eleanor with Silas Hawthorne.
Soon after, a servant ca and announced that dinner was ready, inviting them all to the dining room.
Only then did everyone sit down to start eating.
The other mbers of the Jennings Family were busy and didn’t co back for dinner, just Zella Crawford was there, fortunately, Eleanor and Alaric Faulkner ca over, which made it more lively.
After dinner, Alaric Faulkner was unceremoniously sent away, with Jonathan Jennings leaving word that until the matter was resolved, he should not appear before him.
Eleanor Sterling felt sowhat helpless about this and could only give Alaric Faulkner a look to have him leave first.
She sat in the living room and chatted with Jonathan Jennings for a while, talking about her recent situation, and then she got up to bid farewell.
As soon as Eleanor Sterling stepped out the door, she fell into a broad and familiar embrace.
Seeing it was Alaric Faulkner, she asked, "Why haven’t you left yet?"
"Waiting for you."
Alaric Faulkner held onto Eleanor Sterling, feeling sowhat reluctant to part.
Eleanor Sterling sighed and said, "It seems you can’t win over Grandpa until the matter is resolved.
At least he gave you a chance to sort things out, so there’s no need to worry too much."
Alaric Faulkner rembered when Mrs. Jennings ntioned Silas Hawthorne and suddenly felt a tinge of jealousy.
He buried his head in her shoulder, softly saying, "Eleanor, don’t get involved with Silas Hawthorne, I would be upset."
Eleanor Sterling was helpless, gently caressing his cheek, "I am a married woman now."
Alaric Faulkner was instantly reassured by her words.
He cupped her face and rewarded her with a passionate kiss.
Eleanor Sterling could hardly take it and pushed him away, realizing he was even more clingy than before.
It seed that due to the matter concerning Faye Sterling, it wasn’t entirely a bad thing that they couldn’t et for a while.
Alaric Faulkner, pushed away by her, wasn’t annoyed. Instead, he smiled and said, "I’ll take you back."
On the way back, he could spend more ti with Eleanor Sterling.
Eleanor Sterling didn’t notice Alaric Faulkner’s little mischievous thoughts at all and nodded in agreent without any guard.
Once she was in the car, she realized she was like a little rabbit caught in the hunter’s trap.
Held and kissed by him in the car, she had no room to escape and could only allow him to take what he wanted.
