After a series of fierce operations, Stella Hawthorne happened to walk in.
Eleanor Sterling rested her hands on the table, her mouth holding a rather guilty smile.
"Eleanor, you’re really here? How’s your sorting of the herbs going? I ca to see if you need any help."
As Stella spoke, she made her way inside.
Eleanor Sterling quickly spoke up, "No need, I can... Ah!"
Before she could finish, she suddenly scread, startling Stella.
"Eleanor, what’s wrong?"
Eleanor’s expression was slightly twisted as she tried her best to ignore the hand that had crept up her thigh, gently pinching her, so improper.
"It’s nothing, just a bit ssy here. I just tidied up, so it’s better you don’t co in. Besides, if others know you helped, who knows what they’d say."
After saying this, Eleanor stretched out her leg, trying to kick Alaric Faulkner.
Who told him to get handsy?
However, her foot was firmly caught, and Eleanor could only grit her teeth and silently withdraw her leg.
The back-and-forth under the table didn’t arouse Stella’s suspicion.
Stella didn’t think much of Eleanor’s words, and her step that was about to move forward hesitated a bit.
"Eleanor, you have a point. Then I won’t go in. Anyway, I’m not very familiar with Chinese herbs."
Eleanor nodded, "Mm, I can handle it myself. You should head back first."
"Alright, then I’ll be heading back."
Eleanor smiled slightly and nodded, "Mm, hurry back."
Stella: "Do you need to bring you a late-night snack?"
"No need, I’m not hungry."
Seeing that Eleanor really seed fine, Stella left reassured.
After confirming that Stella had indeed left and wouldn’t return, Eleanor then pulled the person under the table up.
She angrily scolded, "Do you want a beating?"
Alaric Faulkner gazed at her eyes full of anger that were so expressive, even finding them a bit cute, "Am I that unsightly?"
Eleanor sneered, "President Faulkner, don’t you know in your heart if you are unsightly or not?"
It wasn’t that he was unsightly; it was that the relationship between them was unsightly.
Eleanor suddenly froze, speechless at the thought that popped into her mind.
When did the two of them have a relationship?
While Eleanor was in a daze, Alaric moved forward, placing his arms on the table, trapping her between the desks.
"I have no idea, so why don’t you tell ?"
As long as Eleanor agreed to be with him, he wouldn’t mind being a secret lover.
Seeing this shaless man once again acting up, Eleanor couldn’t help but roll her eyes.
She reached out to push him, saying, "There are still a lot of herbs that haven’t been sorted yet. If I don’t hurry, I will have to stay up all night."
Alaric naturally wouldn’t let her toil all night, so he didn’t tease her anymore and let go.
Eleanor sorted the newly arrived herbs into categories, and when she ca across a bag of Poria cubes, her brows suddenly furrowed tightly.
Seeing sothing was off with her expression, Alaric asked, "What’s wrong?"
Eleanor held up the Poria cubes in her hand, "These are fake."
Alaric raised an eyebrow, "The dical school purchased fake Chinese herbs?"
The clarity in Eleanor’s eyes shone, "The traditional Chinese dicine departnt at the dical school has been neglected for a long ti; no one cares, which makes sense, but this must be exposed publicly."
The one responsible for the Chinese dicine storehouse is Aaron Underwood, and whether or not he did it on purpose, he cannot escape responsibility for this matter.
