Eleanor Sterling received a ssage from Estelle Sterling, saying that the Faulkner Family’s matriarch wanted to see her, and her emotions were incredibly complex.
She thought perhaps the matriarch knew about Estelle’s situation and was there to discuss other matters with her.
Could it be that the Faulkner Family wanted to fight her for her son?
Eleanor felt a bit anxious, and Liam Keene noticed and asked, "Isn’t it just going to the Faulkner Family? You’re acting like it’s so dragon’s lair. You don’t seem like the type to be scared easily."
"No, I’m afraid they’ll throw millions at to have leave Estelle behind."
"That kid’s worth millions?" Liam scoffed, unimpressed.
Eleanor sneered, "The blood in him is worth more than just millions."
"Alright, but are you sure the Faulkner Family is willing to pay? Maybe they’ll just seize him forcefully."
"..."
She actually found his words quite reasonable.
Liam chuckled, "The Faulkner Family is Aethelgard’s top family; of course, they wouldn’t allow their bloodline to wander outside. What you’re saying might actually happen."
Eleanor glared at him.
Not only did he not comfort her, but he also stirred up worry—really deserves a beating.
"Why don’t you take little Estelle and Caleb and run away?" Liam suggested.
What? Take Alaric Faulkner’s son away?
She wasn’t out of her mind.
Why should she take his and Faye Sterling’s son away?
Although he and Estelle have gotten along well, she certainly didn’t want to raise another child.
Eleanor sneered, "Do you think Alaric Faulkner is so easy to provoke?
Back then, when Estelle accidentally hacked so money off him, he chased the two of us around the world.
If I really abducted his son, I can’t be sure I’d shake him off."
Eleanor sighed silently; if Alaric Faulkner tagged along, it was hard to shake him off.
Even with the paternity test incident, Alaric Faulkner remained the sa.
Liam laughed lazily, "Since you can’t shake him, might as well keep him."
Eleanor snorted coldly, "Quit joking."
She glanced at Liam, "Go organize the cases; stop lazing around here."
Liam stretched lazily, "Ah well, since you don’t plan on taking action right now, the cases aren’t urgent."
After chasing Liam away, Eleanor felt that her worrying so much was pointless.
Might as well go see how the Faulkner Family will give her the cold shoulder and throw her out, then leave the mother, keep the child.
...
Estelle Sterling and Caleb Faulkner finally smiled after the Faulkner matriarch invited Eleanor Sterling to the Faulkner Family.
Caleb Faulkner knocked on the study door, and inside ca Alaric Faulkner’s low voice, "Co in."
Clack, the door opened, and Caleb poked his little head in, "Daddy, are you busy?"
"What’s up?"
Caleb entered and closed the door.
"Great-grandmother invited Mom Eleanor over as a guest to help you talk to her. Daddy, you don’t need to worry; Mom Eleanor will definitely get Great-grandmother’s approval."
"Grandmother invited Eleanor over?"
Caleb nodded repeatedly, "Yes, I brought it up with Great-grandmother. She didn’t say anything bad about Mom Eleanor."
Compared to his own grandmother, Caleb clearly preferred this great-grandmother a bit more.
"Got it."
Caleb jumped off the chair and walked over, tiptoeing to pat Alaric Faulkner’s back, "Daddy, don’t worry; you’ll always be my daddy."
He wouldn’t let Alaric Faulkner beco an uncle.
Alaric Faulkner looked at Caleb, slightly puzzled, without understanding the aning behind his words.
But it was clear that the little guy’s encouragent and cheer were effective; his lips curved slightly, "Hmm, I’ll keep working hard to make Eleanor your mom."
Caleb ran out, satisfied.
