The Old Gods manifested, the New Gods erged from the pond, a host of attendant deities arose from the Divine Forest, and in an instant, Old Yin Mountain was engulfed in a great divine light.

"For one hundred and seventy years, there were no gods in the world, yet today we witness the spirit of incense once more!"

Everyone within Old Yin Mountain felt the vastness of the incense, regardless of their status or abilities, as the Divine Pond was born. It was an unprecedented shock.

Especially that madman from the Theft Disaster Sect, who now seed so stunned that he didn't appear to be mad anymore.

He crawled up from the ground, his gaze reluctantly withdrawing from the divine light covering the mountain.

Behind him, on the cliff, just as the serpents were poised to strike with their most ferocious assault, another eagle had already flown back, and the two eagles fought the swarm of serpents. Thus, the situation changed again, temporarily ensuring the safety of the young eaglets.

Before the battle between eagle and serpent had a victor, the crisis seed to have been averted.

This also left the madman from the Theft Disaster Sect with a look of complete disinterest, shaking his head slowly. "The fun of inviting disaster lies in watching people scramble, babble nonsense, and stumble around, making it entertaining to watch."

"But the Hu Family is ruthless…"

"They borrowed the world's incense, turning a cat into a tiger to block the disaster. Where's the fun in that?"

He shook his head in pity and slowly looked up at Hu Ma. "As for now, I don't care who wins or loses, but what's more interesting is… where did the Hu Family get the courage to do such a thing?"

When Hu Ma sensed his gaze, he was also disentangling himself from the overwhelming shock.

Every step of this Sacrificial Mountain was within his plan, but actually witnessing the gathering of incense, and the changes it brought about, still filled him with deep reverence.

He had actually witnessed the birth of gods in this world.

Sleeping in the pond were the ancestors of Dayang Village. They were a mix of good and bad, but all had adhered to the rules; those who didn't were not allowed to be buried there.

Even so, not all of them were necessarily good people. But because they were all buried in the pond, as ti passed, individual mories faded, their souls rged, their individual imprints diluted, and through the worship of their descendants, they beca unique entities that protected later generations.

What is a god?

The traces left by ancestors are gods!

In that instant, he felt as if he had gained an infinite understanding of a certain fundantal truth of this world.

So when he heard the madman from the Theft Disaster Sect speak, he slowly turned his head and said indifferently, "So what if the Hu Family did such a thing?"

The madman in the Theft Disaster Sect stared at Hu Ma and slowly replied, "Doing so is equivalent to betraying the Ten Surnas."

"The Hu Family is one of the Ten Surnas. And the Hu Family has just betrayed the Hu Family."

In the distance, the grand sacrificial ceremony continued. Amidst the rolling incense, the mountain lord's figure appeared. Watching the phantoms erging from the pond, he was montarily overwheld.

He, a re remnant soul, had been prepared for annihilation. Yet now, he welcod these newborn beings, and this caused the humanity he had acquired to resonate to its very extre.

Then, he thought of the young man who had promised him the worship of the entire world, thought of his identity, and a sense of deep feeling couldn't help but rise in his heart.

He gave a slight nod toward the Second Master at the incense table, then looked out of the mountain.

With his movents, those newborn deities, those attendant deities ford from spirits through enlightennt, all sensed it in their hearts and slowly raised their heads.

The bizarre winds ceased, and the disaster aura vanished instantly from Old Yin Mountain.

Before the incense table, the Second Master, acting as the chief sacrificer, took a deep breath. A wave of heroic courage surged through him as he suddenly comprehended his task. Lifting the whip high, with several firm strikes, he shattered a straw man beneath it.

But the willow switch in his hand was also nearly worn out.

The Second Master looked up at Hu Ma's godmother. Sensing Lady Liu'er's transformation, he dared not act recklessly.

Hu Ma's godmother, still not fully understanding the current situation, returned the Second Master's gaze. Though she wished to ignore him, she suddenly noticed more eyes turning toward her, one solemn, profound gaze after another…

She couldn't help but tremble again, the willow switches on her body quietly drooping down.

Making it convenient for that old fellow to co and pluck them.

The Second Master had never believed that the living should rely on the dead to get by. Now, he revered the gods in his heart, but he also naturally believed that gods wouldn't do everything for people; they rely gave people courage.

One still had to do the work oneself!

So he unceremoniously plucked the willow switches Lady Liu'er had let droop, weaving them into the largest whip.

Then he firmly struck the straw man. "Whatever strange thing you are, you cannot enter our mountain, nor get near our children!"

"SNAP!"

As this whip fell, far beyond the mountain, the twelve paths of disaster simultaneously let out furious and tragic cries.

These disaster entities—so newborn lambs, others serpents that had just crawled from their eggs—perhaps because the Second Master now had courage and struck with even greater force, not only trembled violently but even had distinct whip marks appear on their bodies.

Thus, they were utterly enraged, staring with pale eyes at Old Yin Mountain. Thunder rumbled in the sky, and black footprints appeared beneath the Disaster Senders' feet.

After one hundred and seventy years, gods and disasters faced their most direct confrontation once more.

An Ears Reporting God arrived, crying out: "Major issues abound! A pond god rises at Old Yin Mountain, blocking the disaster path!"

"Report! Walking ghosts across the lands are all stirring, gathering the people together for sacrifices!"

"Report! Nurous Blessing etings around the country have startled the wandering gods' incense!"

One by one, the Ears Reporting Gods flew into the ng Family Ancestral Mansion, shivering as they shouted into the grand hall.

For matters that terrified even the Ears Reporting Gods, causing them to report voluntarily, the head of the ng family was supposed to personally receive them and offer incense.

But now the ng family's hall was deathly silent; even the maids and servants were driven outside, kneeling in a group, utterly unaware of their fate.

And Young Master ng, ng Siliang, sat in a chair, with a nail driven into his forehead. His face was of an unspeakable pallor, and what seed to be a layer of blood mist erging in his eyes gave his gaze a sowhat eerie look.

The disaster descended, and none of the ng family's blood relatives could escape.

At such a mont, one needed to use ruthless thods to proactively bring a great misfortune upon oneself, suffer an unexpected calamity, or endure debilitating physical pain.

This would temporarily stall the disaster's influence, though it couldn't eliminate it.

It allowed one to keep a clear mind and rationality at crucial monts, preventing the disaster from confounding one's Seven Apertures and rendering one's mind muddled and confused.

When faced with the disaster's backlash, Young Master ng decisively drove the nail into his forehead. At any other ti, even the Four Great Hall Officials would appreciate his courage, but now, seeing the nail, they remained silent.

This was a blunder!

While the Hu Family was yet unhard, all the ng Family, young and old, were implicated, which was utterly foolish.

The Ears Reporting Gods delivered incessant reports, but inside the ng family's hall, silence prevailed. Finally, soone could no longer hold back. It was the corpulent Negative Spirit Inquiry Great Hall Officer, clad in a blood-red robe, who shouted, "How dare those undying things still show their faces?"

Nearby, the Divine Fragrance Distribute Great Hall Officer seed sowhat irritated by the noise, frowned, and sighed softly, "Noble Zhang has fallen. With no one to suppress them, their ergence isn't surprising."

"I just didn't expect it to happen so quickly."

"Years ago, suppressing them was a decision by the Ten Surnas. Allowing a few of their remnants to survive, self-imprisoned in the mountains, was an act of rcy from the Ten Surnas."

The Inquiry Great Hall Officer exclaid, "Now they dare to show up blocking disasters, demanding incense! This is taboo! Although Noble Zhang is gone, can the other Surnas not control them?"

"They can."

A woman wrapped entirely in white muslin spoke calmly, "But the thods of the various sects are no match for Noble Zhang's. Therefore, suppressing these remnants will require the other sects to join forces."

Speaking, she suddenly glanced coldly at ng Siliang. "But the Lords of Zhao, Zhou, Chen, and Wang arrived and then departed. Do you think they would still join forces now to suppress these things?"

The hall beca even quieter than before. One always had to leave so face for the host family; such matters were not to be discussed lightly.

Amid this unspeakable embarrassnt, ng Siliang, with the nail in his forehead, gradually showed a smile and said, "I was wrong!"

"Hmm?"

The four present were taken aback, thinking they had misheard.

ng Siliang's fingers lightly touched the nail in his forehead as he spoke softly, "At this point, there's no longer any need to salvage face."

"It was my miscalculation, ng Siliang's, falling into the Hu Family's sche. The ng Family has suffered this loss, and its consequences are largely irreversible. Now, probably everyone in the world, including so of my clan uncles, sees as a joke."

"But… so what if I'm a joke? Is the ng Family really going to be erased because of this?"

"The ng Family, of course, will not fall…"

Hearing his words, the Great Hall Officials were silent. The ng Family's loss this ti was imnse; they were perhaps on the brink of having their line extinguished.

But the ng Family still wouldn't collapse. After all, the ng Family Ancestor was still around!

If it were any other family, the Four Great Hall Officials might have already turned and left, their forces scattered and no longer taking orders. But this wouldn't happen with the ng Family.

No matter what, as long as the ng Family Ancestor could still open his eyes, the ng Family would not fall, and they would not dare to betray.

But now that things had co to this, to say such a thing…

At this mont, the woman in the white robe suddenly whispered, "Collect the disaster!"

"Swallow the losses we must. What remains, retrieve it promptly."

"It can't be collected."

Only the one from the Great Sword Catching Sect dared speak to Young Master ng this way. But hearing the words, Young Master ng rely smiled, blood seeping from where the nail was driven into his forehead, streaming down his face like worms, "I invited eleven paths of disaster, but twelve ca out."

"So, the disaster cannot be collected."
