"The ng Family?"

"Are you saying that the one you chased like a dog is from the Tongyin ng family?"

In that mont, the shock Er Guotou felt couldn’t be described with ordinary words; his eyes nearly popped out of their sockets. How could a mber of the ng family be so undignified? How could a ng family mber be chased so miserably by Old White?

For a mont, his blood rushed to his head, and he felt dizzy, as if he were dreaming. Instinctively, he raised his sleeve to cover his face while quickly looking for a place to hide.

But he didn’t need to cover his face. At that mont, even though he was scared, Second Young Master ng, whose Yin Road had been sealed, was equally terrified and imdiately turned back, not daring to co in his direction.

Who could it possibly be? Who has the ability to seal the Yin Road I was about to take?

Just a cup-of-tea’s ti ago, this Second Young Master ng hadn’t wanted to run and was full of resentnt towards the Chief Steward who had forcibly pressed him into the sedan chair. But now, realizing he couldn’t even escape by Borrowing the Road to the Underworld, his heart truly began to panic.

The shallow anger he initially felt had long disappeared, replaced by a terrifying thought: How can there be a Ghost Walker here?

Whether it was the other party’s ability to wave the flag and seal the road to the underworld, or the ability to summon yin thunder, these were all signature moves of a Ghost Walker. This implied that soone, indeed a great walking ghost, had lain in ambush here in advance, just waiting for him.

But, the Ghost Walker Path should be in decline now...

He had co here secretly to perform this task, his heart already heavy with guilt. Now, discovering soone with a heavy nacing aura, soone skilled in Ghost Walker techniques, filled him with an uncontrollable, shrinking fear.

Is it possible that I might actually die here?

This night, he had encountered danger several tis, nearly getting his neck chopped by Hu Ma, and almost being afflicted by gu insects.

Yet, it was the first ti he genuinely had this thought. Once it arose, it burned like wildfire, quickly engulfing his entire being, his Divine Soul, generating a profound fear.

How could I possibly die here? I’m only twenty-three, far from ready to serve the ancestors down below...

I’m the ng family’s Young Master! Could I possibly die in this mountain hollow?

...

...

"Brother Er Guotou, you’ve co at just the right ti..."

But Hu Ma did not consider this a dream. Instead, delighted, he seized the opportunity and rushed forward with a shout.

As his boots struck the ground, the earth itself seed to flow swiftly beneath him, creating a marvelous feeling of Shrinking Ground. The ghost sedan chair ahead beca clearer and clearer in his sight.

His blood boiled with excitent. Even the knife in his hand seed to sense his thrill, ringing sharply in the oncoming gale, emanating a boundless aura of nace.

"Hurry..."

anwhile, as Second Young Master ng was increasingly overwheld by this intense fear, he lost all his dignity and suddenly scread, "Where’s the Chief Steward? Why hasn’t he co yet?"

...

The Yin Maid and the little ghosts carrying the sedan could not answer him, either.

Looking back, the Chief Steward and the living maid who had stayed behind as a decoy were nowhere to be seen, not even a shadow. Even the lights from the village edge were no longer visible, and their fate—whether life or death—was unknown.

"That’s right, the great hall officer..."

Panicked, Second Young Master ng shouted carelessly, "Quickly go find the Iron Steed Grand Hall Officer!"

"He’s Shousui’s sword catcher; surely he can protect my life..."

...

The Yin Maid and the little ghosts carrying the sedan, aware of the dire situation, turned and, wrapped in a billowing yin qi, began to drift towards Shima Town.

However, feeling the ominous presence growing behind them, Hu Ma sped up even more, so fast that his vision blurred. Desperate, he shouted another incantation:

"Dim and hazy, demons travel with demons! By order of Tongyin ng, quickly co to the sedan and receive your title!"

As he spoke from within the sedan, he suddenly cut his palm, letting a string of fresh blood spill down.

Before the blood hit the ground, it began to burn, faintly, releasing perceptible black smoke that rged into the night and dispersed through the forest.

This wasn’t any sophisticated skill; rather, it was blood magic, using his blood as a dium to call upon the evil spirits of the mountains and Wandering spirits for aid. If soone were to co to help him now, it would be akin to forming a bond of gratitude in the na of the Tongyin ng family bloodline, requiring him to thank them with a grand sacrifice of three animals.

The blood of a Tongyin ng family descendant was extrely precious, not to be lightly used on unrecognized evil spirits in a barren wilderness, for fear they couldn’t bear the weight of such a connection. Yet now, he had no other choice.

He wasn’t hoping to summon anything particularly strong, just hoping to lure sothing over to temporarily stop the nacing pursuer behind him, giving him a chance to reach the Iron Steed Grand Hall Officer for help.

Of course, his pride was thoroughly lost, but at a ti like this, he couldn’t care about such things.

WHOOSH...

As his blood dium scattered, the chaotic winds in the surrounding forest were suddenly filled with countless whispers. Wandering Souls, vile entities, and even so trees and wild creatures in the mountains that had gradually developed spiritual awareness were all lured, appearing inquisitively.

Anything with a bit of cultivation could sense the exceptionally alluring elent within the blood’s aroma. So even went mad, driven by the curse woven into his blood dium.

Those with high spiritual awareness were simply enticed, while those with lower might be directly overwheld by this blood qi.

However, as Second Young Master ng anxiously surveyed the surroundings, worried about whether his summons were too ordinary, a breeze suddenly blew past, dispersing his blood odor.

Alard, he looked up to see a fierce demonic wind rising on the mountain ridge ahead, the night so deep it felt impenetrable.

But from the depths of this darkness, sothing slowly erged. First, a spot of white, then it gradually took shape. A fierce and terrifying aura intertwined, finally revealing a bizarre shadow.

Its entire body was snow-white, its posture graceful. It sat quietly on the ridge, exuding a noble aura that seed incompatible with these barren wilds. Though small in size, it had a haughty deanor, vaguely hinting at a disdainful arrogance.

Blurred behind it, several tails lightly swayed in the air.

"Ah?"

Seeing such a demon, Young Master ng was initially startled, instinctively on guard.

But then he was overwheld with joy: Heaven has helped at last! A single blood dium has actually summoned such a formidable demon?

Perhaps it was because of the cat’s eyes that his head spun, thoughts rushing uncontrollably. He imagined taking this demon back and giving it a title if it rescued him...

Of course, he wasn’t that far gone. Just as an inappropriate thought for such a mont arose, he suddenly jolted.

Is this demon deceiving ?

Startled, he realized the white cat showed no intention of accepting his blood dium or blocking his pursuers; it was just silently watching him.

Those eerie eyes, even upon his glance, confused him, slowing his thoughts. It seed there was even a faint hint of cold mockery on its face.

Even the little ghosts carrying his sedan beside him had slowed their pace considerably.

It’s not helping ; it’s blocking ?

Realization dawned on Second Young Master ng; he was so startled that he almost tumbled out of the sedan.

In desperate fury, he exhaled a breath of yin qi towards the white cat’s direction. This was an act of venting his anger, as the cat’s position wouldn’t block his sedan. But how could Second Young Master ng tolerate such provocation?

Even facing the yin qi, the white cat’s eyes shone brightly, a chilling smile seemingly gracing its lips. It didn’t dodge at all, its soft, sleek tail swaying gently.

Before Second Young Master ng realized what had occurred, he felt his sedan tilt sharply. Several of the little ghosts carrying it dissolved instantly into the night, causing the sedan to beco unsteady.

Not only did its speed plumt, but he nearly toppled out himself.

"Damn it!"

He knew it was the demon that had acted. Vaguely, he also felt that escaping was paramount, yet at this mont, he couldn’t control the urge to strike at the white cat.

"Young Master, be careful..."

At that very mont, the ghost maid beside him cried out a warning, righting the sedan. Simultaneously, her body transford into a gust of yin wind, rushing towards the white cat in front. She had realized the critical danger and, disregarding everything else, was desperately trying to ensure his escape.

How can this rural place have so many people and demons who disregard my ng family’s majesty?

By now, Second Young Master ng was utterly confused. Although he was in a wretched state, his corresponding ceremony tent was still present.

Wandering spirits and Evil Ghosts would naturally be dispersed by it, and those with higher cultivation should be able to recognize the ceremony tent.

Never mind all of them kneeling by the roadside and kowtowing, but how could they, one after another, dare to provoke him?

Although he couldn’t figure it out, he knew it wasn’t the ti for questions. Glancing back at the ghost maid entangled by demon winds, he held back his pain and continued fleeing.

Then he heard a rushing noise behind him. Turning his head, he saw a figure under the moonlight emanating a fierce, gleaming aura, rushing towards him with a roar.

It was Hu Ma. Seizing this rare opportunity, he had finally reached within seventy feet of him and, with all his might, hurled the knife in his hand.
