Green Tea

“Sister, what type of tea would you like?” Cheng Yuqi intended to offer Fang Yuan the freedom to choose.

Before she could finish her sentence, Fang Yuan casually responded, “Green tea, please.”

Cheng Yuqi was taken aback. Was he asking her to pour the tea or calling her a “green tea sort of bitch”?

“You truly adore your sister,” Cheng Ye chimed in, assuming that Cheng Yuqi was going to pour tea for Fang Yuan. He smiled and said, “Yuanyuan, Yuqi has always been like this. She deeply cares for her family. If you don’t allow her to pour the tea, she’ll be quite displeased!”

Fang Yuan glanced up at Cheng Yuqi and said, “Thank you for the trouble.”

Cheng Yuqi had no choice but to rise and retrieve the pot of green tea. She poured the tea while cautiously sizing up Fang Yuan from the corner of her eye. Fang Yuan wore a delicate blue muslin dress with thin material, and typically, the water temperature for brewing tea exceeded 95 degrees Celsius. If she accidentally spilled some…

Fang Yuan could discern Cheng Yuqi’s thoughts with just a single look. She added, “70% will suffice.”

Cheng Yuqi hadn’t anticipated that Fang Yuan could see through her so easily. She clenched her teeth and was about to pretend she hadn’t heard anything when Fang Yuan continued, “That’s enough.”

Cheng Yuqi halted her actions accordingly. She smiled and remarked, “Sister, you’re quite cautious. I’ve been pouring tea for Mom and Dad for years without spilling a single drop. Are you worried that I might scald you?”

Fang Yuan cast a glance at Cheng Yuqi and smiled. “I noticed that you poured 80% for Mom and Dad, so I requested 70%.”

“My darling Yuanyuan, you needn’t be so meticulous at home,” Qiao Xinhui expressed, surprised by her child’s knowledge of etiquette. However, Cheng Yuqi’s ment just now seemed slightly stingy, although it appeared she didn’t mean any harm.

Cheng Ye smiled and changed the subject. “Yuanyuan, Yuqi, the college entrance exam results will be released soon. Are you both interested in attending college?” He set down his teacup and lovingly gazed at his two daughters.

As Cheng Yuqi settled back into her seat, she felt the need to show off to Fang Yuan. Thus, she promptly responded, “I plan to attend Jing University.”

Fang Yuan lifted her head upon hearing about Jing University, her expression filled with confusion.

Sensing Fang Yuan’s gaze, Cheng Yuqi smiled and said, “Although students often plain about the difficulty of the college entrance exam, I personally find it easier than the daily practice questions. There’s not much pressure, and going to Jing University is more than sufficient.”

“Jing University is indeed the top school in the country, but… if I recall correctly, didn’t you express an interest in studying abroad?” Cheng Ye looked at her, perplexed.

“I used to think so, but things aren’t very peaceful outside the country,” Cheng Yuqi replied with a smile. “Jing University is close to home, and if we finish classes early every day, we can e back home and keep you pany.” She intentionally grasped Cheng Ye’s arm, flashing a coquettish smile.

“You’ve been a diligent student since you were young. We have no doubt about your abilities,” Cheng Ye chuckled.

“What about you, sister?” Cheng Yuqi clung to Cheng Ye’s arm and asked playfully, “I forgot to ask which school you attended before. Was it Jing High School or Ash International?”

“Is it too warm in here?” Fang Yuan elegantly wiped her lips with a napkin, suddenly interjecting.

Cheng Yuqi leaned closer to Cheng Ye, a gesture she used to get away with in the past, but now she felt it was inappropriate.

Cheng Ye withdrew his arm. “It is indeed a bit warm. Zhao, please lower the air conditioner.”

Butler Zhao responded, “Of course!”

Cheng Yuqi felt a tinge of embarrassment but quickly regained her posure. She smiled and continued, “Sister, you haven’t answered my question. How did you perform?”

Fang Yuan replied, “It was fine.”

Curious, Cheng Yuqi pressed further, “What do you estimate your scores to be?”

Fang Yuan calmly enjoyed the snacks and replied, “I don’t know.”

“Yuanyuan, do you have any preferences for a college? I can inform them in advance…” Cheng Ye interjected.

Fang Yuan took a sip of tea and replied bluntly, “I’m not interested in attending college.”

Cheng Yuqi silently chuckled to herself. So, he must have been a poor student? He was simply claiming disinterest because his grades were subpar.

“Hahaha, Dad didn’t enjoy going to school either. There was this one time when he skipped class and got caught by your grandpa…” Cheng Ye reminisced about the past, rambling on for a while. Suddenly, he remembered that his daughter had mentioned her hobby was making money!

An idea sparked in his mind. “Yuanyuan, what are your aspirations for the future? Is there any industry that interests you? If you want to bee a celebrity, I will fully support you!”

Many girls dreamt of being celebrities, right? If his daughter held such a dream, he would wholeheartedly support her!

Fang Yuan, “…..”

Cheng Yuqi, “!!!”
