Qin Lingxiao’s expression remained indifferent.

The instant the golden barrier shattered, she stepped forward once more.

There was no hesitation.

Whoosh!

Her figure blurred.

Another killing strike descended.

Yu Zidi’s face turned deathly pale.

He no longer cared about conserving his treasures.

With a wave of his sleeve, another defensive artifact flew into the air.

A jade mirror.

Buzz!

A brilliant silver barrier unfolded before him.

Bang!

Qin Lingxiao’s attack landed.

Crack!

The mirror instantly split in half before exploding into countless fragments.

However...

It had bought Yu Zidi another breath of time.

Without waiting for Qin Lingxiao’s next strike, Yu Zidi frantically took out another treasure.

A crimson talisman.

Boom!

A blazing wall of flames erupted between the two.

Qin Lingxiao merely waved her sleeve.

The flames dispersed instantly.

Bang!

The talisman disintegrated into ashes yet another treasure was destroyed.

Yu Zidi’s hands trembled.

Another artifact appeared.

Then another.

Every single one was an extremely precious defensive treasure.

Normally, any one of them would be enough to make countless major powers fight to the death.

Now...

Yu Zidi shattered them one after another without the slightest hesitation.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Each defensive artifact barely survived a single strike before exploding apart.

None of them could withstand Qin Lingxiao.

Yet...

Each one bought him another fleeting moment.

Qin Lingxiao frowned slightly.

She hadn’t expected Yu Zidi to possess so many life-saving treasures.

It seems like he has already raided the treasury of the Imperial Family.

Still...

It was meaningless.

No matter how many defensive artifacts he possessed, they would eventually run out.

The oute would not change.

Meanwhile, Yu Zidi’s breathing had bee increasingly ragged.

His robes were soaked with cold sweat.

His heart pounded wildly.

For the first time in his life, he felt death so close.

His mind screamed only one thing.

(I must live!)

However...

Even in such a desperate situation, another thought remained deeply rooted within his heart.

(The throne... I cannot lose the throne!)

To surrender?

To admit defeat?

To hand the empire over to Yu Feiyan?

Such thoughts never once crossed his mind despite being overwhelming .

To Yu Zidi...

The throne was no different from his own life.

If he gave it up, then even living would bee meaningless.

His eyes frantically swept across the battlefield, desperately searching for anyone capable of saving him.

Xuande?

Still going against other Earth Immortals.

The foreign experts?

Occupied by the masked Earth Immortals.

The Imperial Guards?

Already overwhelmed plus they aren’t powerful enough.

No one...

Then his gaze suddenly froze.

It landed upon a distant platform.

The Bai Clan!

More specifically, Bai Zihan.

At this very moment, Bai Zihan still sat leisurely in his seat, calmly sipping tea as though the life-and-death battle before him had nothing to do with him.

Yu Zidi’s eyes instantly brightened.

Without the slightest hesitation, he shouted across the battlefield.

"Clan Leader Bai!"

His voice echoed throughout the Imperial Palace.

"I trust the Bai Clan has no intention of watching the Desolate Heaven Empire fall into chaos!"

He forcibly suppressed the panic in his heart.

His expression quickly regained the dignity expected of an Emperor.

"I hereby invite the Bai Clan to assist in suppressing these rebels! As long as the Bai Clan lends me its strength today, this Emperor guarantees that the Bai Clan shall forever remain the foremost clan of the Desolate Heaven Empire!"

"The Imperial Family will stand with the Bai Clan for generations to e!"

Even while facing death, Yu Zidi’s tone never sounded pleading.

Instead, it carried the confidence of a ruler extending an offer.

Hearing those words, Bai Zihan finally looked toward Yu Zidi.

"Heh..."

A faint chuckle escaped his lips.

Even at a time like this, Yu Zidi still insisted on maintaining the appearance of a righteous Emperor.

More importantly, from where did Yu Zidi find the confidence to believe the Bai Clan would help him?

Did he truly think Bai Zihan was unaware of why so many powerful foreign delegations were allowed within the Desolate Heaven Empire?

Still Bai Zihan showed no intention of exposing Yu Zidi nor did he bluntly reject him.

He simply placed his teacup down before speaking calmly.

"Your Majesty. This matter appears to be a dispute between members of the Imperial Family."

"As a member of the Neutral Alliance, the Bai Clan has no intention of interfering in the battle of the throne."

He slightly cupped his fists.

"Please forgive us for being unable to offer assistance."

His tone was courteous and polite without the slightest hint of hostility.

Yet...

Yu Zidi’s expression immediately darkened.

He could naturally hear the meaning hidden beneath Bai Zihan’s words.

Neutral Alliance.

Unable to interfere.

Every sentence sounded reasonable.

Yet every sentence amounted to the same answer.

The Bai Clan would not help him.

Yu Zidi’s eyes gradually turned bloodshot.

"Battle for the throne?"

He suddenly roared.

"What battle for the throne?! I have already ascended the throne! I am the legitimate Emperor of the Desolate Heaven Empire!"

He pointed furiously toward Yu Feiyan and Yu Qingya.

"They are rebels! They are attempting to murder their Emperor!"

"This is no longer a dispute between siblings! This is rebellion!"

His furious voice echoed throughout the Imperial Palace.

He stared directly at Bai Zihan.

"So tell me..."

"Will the Bai Clan truly stand by and watch rebels overthrow the legitimate Emperor?"

However, Bai Zihan remained seated.

His expression did not change in the slightest.

Neither did he rise from his chair.

Seeing Bai Zihan remain pletely indifferent, the last trace of hope in Yu Zidi’s heart shattered.

Silence lingered for a brief moment.

Then Yu Zidi suddenly laughed.

"Hahaha..."

The laughter gradually grew louder.

"Hahahahaha!"

It echoed throughout the battlefield.

Everyone frowned.

His laughter carried an unmistakable hint of madness.

After laughing for several breaths, Yu Zidi slowly lifted his head.

His eyes were filled with coldness.

He looked directly at Bai Zihan.

"So this is the Bai Clan’s final decision?"

Bai Zihan simply looked at him calmly without answering.

Seeing that silence, Yu Zidi’s expression twisted.

"Good! Very good! You’ll regret this, Bai Zihan!"

His voice became increasingly sinister.

"You really think remaining neutral will keep the Bai Clan safe? You’ve made the greatest mistake of your life!"

Yu Zidi’s lips slowly curled into a cold smile.

"If you refuse to help this Emperor today then the Bai Clan is doomed."

Bai Zihan’s expression did not change in the slightest.

Instead, a faint smile appeared on his face.

"Oh?"

He looked at Yu Zidi with apparent curiosity.

"And what exactly does Your Majesty mean by that?"

His tone remained as calm as ever.

It was as though he genuinely couldn’t understand Yu Zidi’s confidence.

Not only Bai Zihan, even Qin Lingxiao temporarily halted her attacks.

She withdrew several steps, her beautiful eyes narrowing slightly as she looked toward Yu Zidi.

She, too, wanted to hear his answer.

After all, even with her Golden Immortal Realm cultivation, taking down the Bai Clan wasn’t easy.

Yet...

Yu Zidi, a mere Prince of the Desolate Heaven Empire, actually dared to declare that the Bai Clan was doomed.

Where did such confidence e from?

If he truly possessed another hidden trump card capable of threatening the Bai Clan then she didn’t mind delaying his death for a little longer.

After all, if Yu Zidi could weaken or even destroy the Bai Clan for her, that would save her a great deal of trouble.

The other Foreign Delegation wanted to stop Yu Zidi from uttering another word.

They didn’t want others to know what they had done nor dealing with the Yu Zidi.

Moreover, negotiating with the Bai Clan and saying that he will help them, whether that is true or not, they obviously didn’t like it.

They had e here to deal with the Bai Clan and if Yu Zidi intended to protect him then...

Anyways, since nothing has been confirmed, they still didn’t do anything for now.

Yu Zidi slowly wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth.

Then he laughed.

"Hahaha... Bai Zihan, you truly know nothing."

His gaze swept across the members of the Bai Clan before returning to Bai Zihan.

Yu Zidi continued with a cold smile.

"The moment today’s coronation began, the Imperial Army, together with the armies of every foreign empire present here, had already surrounded the Bai Clan."

Yu Zidi’s smile widened.

"By now, your Bai Clan should already be engulfed in flames. The bined armies of the Imperial Family and the foreign empires are more than enough to reduce your entire clan territory to ashes."

He stared directly into Bai Zihan’s eyes.

"You should understand what that means."

Yu Zidi’s voice gradually became colder.

"So I’ll give you one final chance. Help this Emperor suppress these rebels. The moment you do, I will immediately send an order for every army surrounding the Bai Clan to withdraw."

His eyes flashed with menace.

"But if you refuse..."

He paused deliberately.

A sinister smile spread across his face.

"...then by the time this battle ends, the Bai Clan will have already disappeared from the Desolate Heaven Empire forever."
