For a mont, it was quiet. She glanced to the side, eting Song Tingfan’s gaze. "Ahem, if it’s difficult, forget it. Young Master Yan is gentle; he won’t force it."

"It’s up to you." Song Tingfan held her hand.

Lin Qiao: "..."

What’s the antagonist up to? There are several pairs of eyes watching in the house.

She smiled awkwardly, "Alright then."

After a while, Yan Xian paid silver coin and left, leaving only the two of them in the room.

Lin Qiao pulled her hand back with a slight effort, "Aren’t you going back to the camp?"

"No one is allowed to enter this room besides . Any discussions must be held in the main hall." Song Tingfan’s tone was a bit angry.

Lin Qiao: "..."

A few days ago, he didn’t care about her, and now he’s acting worried about her. Could he be schizophrenic?

Ahem, it doesn’t seem like it.

She initially wanted to go along with him, but suddenly thought of sothing—that she shouldn’t always comply with him.

Arguing affects relationships, argue more...

"Song Tingfan, do you not trust ? It’s too noisy outside in the main hall, not good for discussions."

Suddenly angry, Lin Qiao huffed, and Song Tingfan pursed his lips, slightly compromising, "Discuss in the courtyard."

"You’re simply unreasonable."

Lin Qiao stord out angrily, but as soon as she left the room, she couldn’t help but smile, quickly holding it back.

Inside, Song Tingfan didn’t know what to do for a mont.

...

Past noon, in the military camp.

Song Tingfan glanced at the letter for a while before putting it down, "Gao Qiang."

"Here." Gao Qiang ran in from outside.

"Watch over the camp. I’m going ho for a bit." Song Tingfan changed out of his military uniform, then lifted the curtain and left.

After he was gone, Gao Qiang ca out and gave Zhou Fu’an a mischievous smile, "The general was very intense at noon, even bit his lips until they bled. Ahem, his wife is quite fierce!"

Zhou Fu’an couldn’t help but burst into laughter, "Three months without that, of course it’s intense. But all jokes aside, it’s rough for a woman to carry a child, can’t even touch for days."

"That’s why you don’t have a wife." Gao Qiang rolled his eyes at him.

"You have a wife? Your wife is still in your mother-in-law’s womb."

"Damn, you leg! Your wife isn’t even a thought."

...

Lin Qiao had a habit of taking afternoon naps. Being in soone’s arms, she didn’t react imdiately. It took a while for her to open her eyes, and she jumped in surprise seeing the handso face, "Why are you back?"

"Nothing’s happening in the camp."

Seeing that she wasn’t angry anymore, Song Tingfan relaxed a bit.

Lin Qiao mumbled an "Oh" and then closed her eyes to continue sleeping. Song Tingfan didn’t disturb her, and after a while, they both fell asleep.

A good half-hour passed, and Lin Qiao was awakened by Song Tingfan’s heavy breathing. Seeing his eyes filled with desire, she understood naturally.

Weren’t you supposed to dislike won!

She gave him a light slap, jokingly warning, "If you ss around, I won’t forgive you again."

Song Tingfan didn’t ss around, got up after a while, "Change and let’s go for a walk."

"Not going. I have things to do, you go by yourself." Lin Qiao refused.

She wanted to see how much he could endure.

Song Tingfan pursed his lips, then bent down and picked her up, taking her outside despite her hair not being combed, while the workers resting in the main hall looked over.

Lin Qiao was utterly embarrassed beyond belief as she got into the carriage.

They stared at each other.

Song Tingfan said in a low voice, "I misspoke at noon; don’t be angry anymore."

The antagonist’s apology surprised Lin Qiao; since when does the bad guy apologize? Usually, he’d just kill if unhappy.

Ahem, maybe that’s an exaggeration.

"If this happens again, I won’t talk to you."

"Okay." Song Tingfan nodded.

Perhaps to appease her, Song Tingfan bought a lot of things for her, which made Lin Qiao clearly not upset, even if she claid otherwise.

After all, she was passionate about shopping in her other life.

They returned carrying lots of bags, and Song Qin and the rest were overjoyed, as they had noticed sothing odd going on between the two lately.

Song Qin laughed cheerfully, "You need to go out more often; staying ho makes it easy to feel bored."

"Grandma, here, these shoes are for you. It’s getting cold, and it’s easy for feet to freeze." Lin Qiao handed things over to them.

Song Rong coughed twice, his face a bit flushed, then quickly smiled, "There are still shoes at ho."

Recently, his health had not been good. Both Lin Qiao and Song Tingfan had seen doctors, who all said nothing was wrong.

Nothing wrong except that Song Rong was indeed getting old...

Song Tingfan felt his hand, then ward up the stove, "Light the stove if it’s cold."

"Not cold, not cold." Song Rong shook his head quickly, coal isn’t cheap, costs ten-so cents per pound.

Lin Qiao knew he wanted to save those copper coins, "I’m the one who’s cold, so keep the stoves on at ho."

She was genuinely worried about Song Rong’s health. It wasn’t about fearing the antagonist would do anything but because, after spending so much ti together, there was affection.

"Qiao’er, cold? Wear more clothes." Song Qin said, concerned, touching her hand. Only when it felt warm did she breathe a sigh of relief.

At night, Song Qin coughed more frequently than usual, and Song Tingfan got up to brew dicine in the kitchen, with Lin Qiao accompanying him. Under the light of the fire, the man’s head was lowered, lost in thought.

She sighed a long sigh; this is sothing no one can change. When people get old, they naturally pass away.

If Song Rong were gone, there’d be one less person for the antagonist to care about.

"Grandpa will be fine."

"Hmm."

Song Tingfan kept his head down and said, "You should go to sleep."

"I’m not sleepy; I’ll go check on Grandpa,"

Lin Qiao went to Song Qin’s room. Song Rong wasn’t coughing now, but he did not look well, "Grandpa?"

Song Rong looked at her, smiled, his face full of wrinkles, "It’s nothing, you both go back and sleep."

"I know Grandpa’s fine; it’s just that the great-grandson wanted to see you." Lin Qiao caressed her slightly bulging belly.

Song Rong’s gaze landed on her belly with so reluctance. He knew his own health best; he feared he wouldn’t survive this winter. Hoarsely, he said, "Qiao’er, can I give him a nickna first?"

Hearing this, Lin Qiao’s nose tingled, and she lowered her head, "Mm," she said softly, "Of course, you can. Grandpa, you can even give the full na while you’re at it, so I don’t have to think about it later."

"You decide the full na yourselves. If it’s a boy, call him Pingping; if it’s a girl, Annan." Song Rong’s only hope was that Tingfan’s family would be well, without any troubles.

Pingping Annan.

Song Tingfan ca in carrying the dicine, "Not nice; Grandpa, think of sothing else."

Think a little longer...

Song Rong’s eyes suddenly turned red, and he nodded, "Alright, alright..."

After a long ti, Song Tingfan and Lin Qiao returned to their room. The man beside her lay still for a long ti, and Lin Qiao sighed deeply in her heart, reaching over to hug him, "Don’t be sad, Grandpa will be fine."

Both knew he wouldn’t be.

He wouldn’t be fine.

Song Tingfan replied with a soft "Hmm," his voice a bit strange.

Sounded like he had cried.

Lin Qiao reached out to touch his face; the wetness surprised her.

The antagonist did have a soft spot in his heart, just hidden away.

Hidden deeply.
