Seeing that he didn’t say anything, Lin Qiao thought to herself that maybe her answer was too insincere; she was just about to add sothing when he said, "Okay."

Then she must always treat him well.

Treat him well in what way?

Lin Qiao was puzzled, and Song Tingfan didn’t say anything more.

...

By the ti the two of them arrived at the Lin Family, it was already half an hour later. The won were making dumplings, and the n were killing fish, planning to fry them together.

"You’re here, co in and sit."

Seeing Song Tingfan roll up his sleeves, wanting to help with the fish, Li Guifen quickly said, "Tingfan, there’s no need to help, there aren’t many. Don’t get the fishy sll, you’ll need to change your clothes when you get ho."

Hearing the words "fishy sll," Song Tingfan glanced at Lin Qiao and then rolled his sleeves back down.

Lin Qiao wanted to help make dumplings, but Li Guifen wouldn’t allow it. The two of them could only watch Lin An and Lin Ping practicing calligraphy nearby.

Mrs. Lin Xushi, while making dumplings, laughed and said, "You two little guys should learn more from your uncle. He was very good at his studies those years."

"Mom, I’m good at my studies too. The teacher even praised ," Lin Ping said seriously.

Hearing her son praised, the mother was naturally happy. Mrs. Lin Xushi bead with joy, "Yes, yes, yes."

Lin Ping happily shook his head, then looked at Song Tingfan with big eyes, "Uncle, take a look, did I write it correctly?"

Song Tingfan examined it carefully, "Yes, it’s right."

"Hehe, Uncle, then you have to buy a mask. You said you’d buy a mask," Lin Ping said with a grin.

"What are you saying, child? Sha on you, asking your uncle to buy things at your age. Go ask your dad," Mrs. Lin Xushi quickly interjected, fearing that her sister-in-law would think she taught him that.

"Uncle said if I studied well, he’d buy one."

Lin Ping didn’t think too much about it, he just felt that since his uncle promised him, he should keep his word.

"Alright, I’ll get them for you tomorrow," Song Tingfan replied, still patient.

Lin Qiao glanced at him in surprise and said with a bright smile, "How co you didn’t let buy them? Maybe if you call aunt a few more tis, I’ll buy you a couple more."

"No way, Aunt is a woman, I’m a man, I can’t ask you to buy things. I’ll buy for you in the future."

Lin Ping’s earnest manner amused Lin Qiao, making her laugh out loud, "I’ll rember that. If you don’t buy it in the future, I’ll block your door every day."

"I’ll buy it."

Lin Ping had just finished speaking when Lin An quickly added, "I’ll buy it too, I’ll even buy for sister."

"No, no, no, what are you talking about, boy, it’s a brother," Mrs. Lin Wu quickly corrected him.

"It’s a sister, Uncle said it’s a sister," Lin An looked at Song Tingfan.

Suddenly everyone looked at Song Tingfan. Song Tingfan glanced at Lin Qiao’s abdon, "Hmm, it’s a sister."

Lin Qiao knew he wanted a daughter. Although a bit surprised, she thought it might be due to previous experiences.

Li Guifen laughed, chiming in, "Both a sister and a brother."

Lin Qiao: "..."

Having one child was already a mont of insanity for her, let alone two?

Unless the villain worships her.

Cough, even if she wanted one, the villain wouldn’t touch her.

This reassured her for now.

However, she certainly couldn’t say that, so she didn’t respond.

With so many people, there weren’t enough seats at the table, so everyone found their own stools to sit and eat.

Lin Qiao was about to sit next to Li Guifen when Li Guifen pulled her, "There’s a seat by Tingfan."

This daughter is just like that, Tingfan is in a bad mood, doesn’t she know to be more considerate?

Lin Qiao: "..."

All eyes on her, she sat beside Song Tingfan. eting his probing gaze, she feigned ignorance, smiling with her eyes curved.

The villain is more sensitive than before, starting to doubt over the slightest discrepancy.

No room for complacency.

Noticing the woman’s cheerful deanor, the subtle unease in Song Tingfan’s heart faded away.

She seed a bit afraid of him.

Lin Han, unaware of the ntal battle between the two, took a bite of dumpling, "Tingfan, how are things outside?"

"It’s alright." Swallowing the dumpling, Song Tingfan replied, his peripheral vision catching the woman enjoying her dumplings, seemingly having a better appetite.

On instinct, he placed two dumplings into her bowl, hesitated for a mont, and then retracted his chopsticks upon eting her gaze.

Lin Qiao glanced at him, then at the dumplings in her bowl, a flash of conflict in her eyes. Could she have won the villain’s heart so quickly?

Sooner than expected, she dismissed her own thought, realizing she wasn’t that capable.

Seeing their interaction, Li Guifen felt comforted, quickly prompting, "Tingfan, there are still more in the pot, don’t concern yourself with Qiao’er, focus on eating."

"Alright," Song Tingfan nodded.

At that mont, Lin Han noticed there was still at on the fish bone Lin Ping discarded, "Xiao Ping, finish it clean before tossing, don’t waste it, we used quite so oil to fry it."

"If you can’t finish it, give it to ," Lin Sheng glared at the wasteful Lin Ping and then handed his bowl over.

"That was the tail, I don’t like it," Lin Ping replied sheepishly.

"If you don’t like it, don’t take it. You’re just picky, kid. When we grew up together, never mind fish tails, we didn’t even see bones," Lin Xushi’s voice was notably stern compared to Lin Han and Lin Sheng’s. She never indulged her children in these matters.

Seeing Lin Ping on the verge of tears, Lin Qiao quickly diffused the situation, "Xiao Ping, just be careful next ti. I don’t like fish tails either."

Lin Ping sniffled, sowhat aggrieved, "Aunt, fish tails have too many bones, right?"

"Right, lots of bones, not suitable for you to eat. Next ti, give them to Grandpa," Lin Qiao gestured for him to co over and made so room, inadvertently sitting much closer to Song Tingfan.

Lin Ping obediently nodded, "Next ti I won’t toss them."

Feeling for her grandson, Li Guifen added, "Just don’t toss them next ti. Alright, everyone, keep eating."

"If you don’t eat it, give it to ."

Suddenly, the man’s deep voice sounded in her ear. Lin Qiao froze for a mont, then looked at the bowl, seeing a fish tail piece. Realizing his intention, she quickly picked it up and handed it to him.

After the al, while Lin Han and Song Tingfan chatted leisurely, Lin Qiao entered the kitchen to help. Curious about sothing, she quietly asked, "Mom, what about the Zhang Family?"

Zhang Family?

It took Li Guifen a mont to recall Zhang Dong, then she imdiately eyed her defensively, "Why are you asking about this?"

As if Lin Qiao was about to have an affair.

Lin Qiao: "..."

She twitched her mouth, feeling like Li Guifen wasn’t her real mother. Laughing, she explained, "I saw Zhang Dong this morning, he aged quite a bit."

"Of course he did. His wife was driven to death by her mother-in-law. You, young lady, can ask all you want, but think no further. Otherwise, your dad and I will be very upset." Li Guifen’s harsh words were ant to discourage any improper ideas.

The Zhang Family is like muddy water, once you’re in, you can’t co out clean.

Lin Qiao: "..."

Her eyes weren’t blind; the difference in looks between Zhang Dong and Song Tingfan was glaringly obvious.

"Mom, what are you thinking? Tingfan and I are doing really well. What else could I want? Besides, I have no interest in Zhang Dong, so stop thinking nonsense."

"It’s best if you’re not interested. I’m just afraid you might get confused. Tingfan is so good, having other thoughts would an you’re blind."

At this mont, a sliver of moon-colored clothing was faintly visible at the door, but those in the kitchen were engrossed in conversation and noticed nothing.

Lin Qiao: "..."

Not wanting to hear Li Guifen’s "nagging" anymore, she promptly assured, "I really like Tingfan. In this life, I won’t marry anyone else but him, so you can rest assured."

This should ease her worries!
