After two quarters of an hour, Song Tingfan raised his hand to signal they could rest, "Gao Qiang, keep going. The rest of you, go eat."

Gao Qiang felt bitter inside, glanced at the gloating Zhou Fu’an, and thought, "Just you wait."

If it weren’t for Song Tingfan being there, Zhou Fu’an would have laughed out loud, then he took off running towards the dining area.

The rascals eat like they’re snatching food, he had to run faster.

As he passed by Song Tingfan, he asked obsequiously, "Vice General Song, what do you want to eat? I’ll grab it for you."

"No need, I’m going ho to eat." Song Tingfan turned and walked briskly in another direction.

Zhou Fu’an’s eyes widened slightly, "..."

He instantly lost his appetite, "The old monk" already has a beautiful wife.

He also wanted a wife, soone to cook for him.

Alright, he actually wanted a good-looking wife to warm his bed.

...

Today, Lin Qiao planned to check on their shop, so she got up a bit earlier than usual. When Song Tingfan returned ho, she was washing dishes and slightly surprised, "Why are you back?"

He usually didn’t co back at this ti.

"Ca back to eat."

Though he said he ca to eat, Song Tingfan’s eyes stayed on her, anyone could tell.

He ca back for sothing.

Her.

Lin Qiao naturally noticed, and coughed, feeling unable to bear his intense gaze. She pretended to be natural and said, "I’ll heat it up, you go out and wait a bit."

"No need, it should still be warm." Song Tingfan took a bowl, scooped so rice, and started eating leftovers.

There wasn’t much leftover, so Lin Qiao took out two eggs, washed the pan, and fried them. She quickly finished and placed them in his bowl, "Next ti, let know if you’re coming back to eat, I’ll make more."

"I’ll always co back to eat; if not, I’ll let you know."

Song Tingfan looked at the eggs in his bowl, feeling a surge of satisfaction. He swallowed his food, bent down to give her a quick kiss, and said, "Wife, you’re the best."

Lin Qiao’s mouth twitched, "..."

The word "wife" struck her like lightning, making her cough twice. She then stepped back two steps, "I’m going out to hang the bedding."

Watching her "fleeing" figure, Song Tingfan chuckled lightly, quickly finished his al, and went out to help her hang the bedding. Afterwards, he didn’t stay, "I’m heading to the military camp."

He rembered sothing and paused, "I’ve already looked at a shop. If we’re free this afternoon, I’ll take you to see it. If it’s suitable, we’ll take it over."

Hearing this, Lin Qiao asked in surprise, "Which shop did you look at?"

"In the city."

"Who did you ask for help?"

"I know soone selling the shop, so I asked him to keep an eye out."

It’s not easy to take over a shop in the city. He probably put in so effort. Lin Qiao couldn’t deny being moved. Just as she was about to say sothing, he continued, "In the future, don’t trouble others."

By others, he naturally ant Wei Yun.

Lin Qiao sensed his strong jealousy; even soone as unrelated as Wei Yun could make him jealous. She wondered, if in the past she acted out hugging others, would he not be drowning in vinegar?

But she wouldn’t say that; she cooperated by nodding, "Okay."

"I’ll be back at noon. What do you want to eat? I’ll bring it back." Song Tingfan couldn’t resist reaching out to touch her head, just like she used to touch him in those years. He enjoyed the days now.

Being in her twenties and having soone younger pat her head felt like smoothing fur. Lin Qiao: "..."

Once she thought things through a little, she wasn’t as resistant as before. Ahem, after all, clothes had been taken off, and to resist now would make her a true white lotus.

Take it one step at a ti, having a boyfriend was fine too.

As long as he didn’t rebel.

This was her last bottom line.

Sigh, if there were a director, he would probably be furious with her, the cannon fodder second female lead.

She patted the wrinkled quilt, "You decide on the purchase."

The man imdiately bead a broad smile, sowhat sunny, "Alright."

He bent down to give her a quick kiss, then strode out of the courtyard.

Behind him, Lin Qiao raised her hand to touch her cheek. If he kept kissing, her face might get swollen.

Geez, it’s not like she’s pork, what’s with the obsession?

Military Camp

Song Tingfan had just stepped into the archery range when a soldier ca to tell him to go to the General. He turned and followed along.

Inside the tent, he glanced at the General sitting above, "General."

"Mm, getting used to everything recently?" Qin Dewen gestured for him to sit on a nearby stool.

Song Tingfan, although unsure why he was called, knew that as a Vice General, he wasn’t qualified to sit in the General’s chair. So, he remained standing, "In response to the General, I’m getting used to it."

"No need to be so formal."

Qin Dewen noticed he was still standing, assuming he was overly honest, slightly disappointed but without showing it on his face, "As long as you’re getting used to it. How are the troops under you? Any standout individuals?"

"Zhou Fu’an, his archery is exceptionally accurate." Even though he punishes them often, Song Tingfan is aware of their abilities.

Qin Dewen nodded, "Alright, consider promoting him as you see fit."

He placed the letter he was holding face down on the table, "Since you haven’t been properly welcod since you arrived, tonight we’ll have a lamb roast in the camp."

"Invite your family too."

It was clear this was not a request.

Song Tingfan pursed his lips, "Thank you, General, but the elderly at ho may feel overwheld in a crowd, so they can’t co."

Qin Dewen gave him a glance, kindly saying, "I didn’t consider that, next ti I’ll invite them sowhere quieter. Just you co."

Later, Song Tingfan walked out of the tent, his brow slightly furrowed. He wasn’t stupid; the General clearly wanted to win him over.

Why?

Lost in thought, he arrived at the archery range, where Zhou Fu’an saw him and imdiately joked, "General, went ho for so at pies?"

Song Tingfan gave him an eye dagger, then picked up a nearby arrow, lifted it neatly, and pulled back with so force. Reaching the peak, the arrow sped towards the distance, piercing the center of the target.

"Anyone who can’t dislodge this arrow today will run five extra laps with a load."

The crowd groaned instantly. So of the older soldiers were already dissatisfied with him, expressing it aloud, "The arrow is lodged in the bullseye. Who can shoot that off? I bet you can’t either, Vice General!"

These seasoned soldiers always looked for ways to bully the newcors. Gao Qiang, already full of resentnt, was outraged at the disrespect towards their Vice General, "If you can’t do it, it’s because you lack the skill. Missing this simple shot, you might as well be cooking instead of in the archery camp."

"Exactly, when the Vice General says to shoot, just shoot. Quit whining like won. Despite his youth, who knows how many more enemies he’s killed compared to you?" Initially, Zhou Fu’an was also disgruntled with Song Tingfan being above them, but after the battle at Huai Mountain, he fully respected him.

One arrow had pierced the enemy’s chief General’s head.

With the enemy suppressed, they turned the tables instantly.

That battle, originally a deadly stalemate, was turned around solely because of his shot.

"I was out collecting heads before you were even born!" the old soldier said, red with anger.

Just then, an arrow whizzed past his ear and finally struck the bullseye, sending the previous arrow clattering to the ground.
