The guy with the crew cut hastily nodded, signaling his friends to lift Lei Ji and they quickly exited the restaurant, their pace almost Olympic in its speed.
Once they were gone, the onlookers in the restaurant breathed a collective sigh of relief, yet their gazes remained filled with awe when they looked at Wang Xiao.
”Wang Xiao, I’m full. Let’s head back.”
Having lost her appetite after the ordeal, Yao Beier tugged at Wang Xiao’s sleeve and spoke in a soft voice.
“There’s still so much boiled beef left. Are you sure you’re full already?”
Wang Xiao was taken aback, looking at Yao Beier with a hint of surprise.
However, catching the worry in her eyes, he said nothing more and nodded, acquiescing to her request.
As evening fell over Forest City University, a tall, handso man and a sweet-faced girl walked shoulder to shoulder.
The warm glow of the streetlights bathed them, casting their elongated shadows on the ground where they rged together.

”Haha, I was only kidding, just teasing you a bit. Get so rest; I’m heading out,” Wang Xiao said, a triumphant thrill in his voice at her bashful reaction.
With a wave to Yao Beier, he turned and strolled away.
“Jerk!”
Yao Beier’s face grew even hotter, her lips pursing in a mix of annoyance and embarrassnt.

Watching Wang Xiao’s retreating figure, Yao Beier stamped her foot in a mix of sha and anger. Her cheeks were a rosy pink, and her eyes, dark as onyx, followed his departure with a glint of mixed emotions.

Upon Yao Beier’s return to the girls’ dormitory, a bevy of big sisters in sultry sleepwear sward around her, their teasing voices overlapping.

One particularly seductive sister winked and asked with a mischievous grin.
”No, no,” Yao Beier stamred, her face awash with a fresh wave of red as she faced the playful interrogation of her roommates.
“No? Makes sense, considering there’s military training tomorrow. Going overboard would just make things awkward to maneuver.”
Another hearty big sister gave Yao Beier’s shoulder a reassuring pat, understandingly.
“Enough already, you’re making blush.”
Yao Beier’s pale hand flew to her flushed face as she bashfully responded to the big sisters’ daring comnts, prompting a chorus of laughter from the girls.

As the night deepened, a secluded street in Forest City’s Eastern District was shrouded in darkness.
Swoosh…
In an instant, dozens of black shadows appeared atop the street lamps lining both sides of the street. Their silhouettes cast eerie and mysterious shadows on the pavent below.
“This must be where Jia Er t his end.”
A chilling, raspy voice emanated from one of the shadows perched on a street lamp. Clutching a wide machete and radiating a frigid aura of malice, it was none other than Xue Ying, the captain of the Rebirth Camp squad.
“Captain, what’s our next move?”
Inquired another shadow from atop a different street lamp.
“I’ve got word that Wang Xiao is at Forest City University in the Northern District.”
Xue Ying’s voice was icy as he spoke.
“Captain, Forest City University is a prestigious institution in Jiangnan Province. With the freshman military training in full swing, barging in to commit murder could draw unwanted attention from the military and certain agencies!”
A long-haired shadow interjected, her voice tinged with a sweet concern.
“Then we’ll have to lure him out and strike off-campus. i Ying, this task is yours.”
Xue Ying’s deanor remained cool, his gaze settling on the long-haired shadow.
“Understood!”
i Ying replied without hesitation, her tone even, “I’ll seduce him out.”
Confidence in her allure was evident in the Rebirth Camp assassin known as i Ying.
“Dismissed.”
Xue Ying wasted no further words. With a nod, he vanished from the street lamp, leaving only its elongated shadow behind.
Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!
At his signal, the other Rebirth Camp assassins sprang into action, vanishing into the night.
In an instant, the shadows of ten street lamps stretched across the vast street, casting a dim glow on the pavent. It was so dark and deserted, it almost seed as if no one had ever set foot on this place.
