The carriages weren't exactly the most comfortable to sit in, but they were doing the bare minimum.
"Ever rode in a carriage?" Beatrice asked the girls.
"Only once before, and it was provided by the academy." Veronica answered, rubbing her butt.
Beatrice giggled a bit. "You'll get used to it after a couple of hours.
It wad a bit hard to find a comfortable position, but Veronica had decided to just put up with it. Shelooked towards Cassidy, who was having trouble with getting comfortable as well, and gave up with a sigh. She stopped trying to find a good sitting position and decided to simply lay down with her head on Veronica's lap.
"That's better." She quietly said in relief.
Beatrice giggled a bit as her daughter did the sa to her.
Veronica looked at Seraph and Sirtia who both seed to already be used to sitting in carriages like these. Sirtia herself was reading one of the few books she brought along. Seraph was looking out the back of the carriage, probably watching out for an assault from the rear.
Veronica was curious about the others, but it's not exactly like they could communicate to each other at the mont. Which left just one thing to do. Relax.
It seed... boring. Their first grand adventure is an escort job where nothing is happening. Granted, nothing happening and being paid for it is much better than sothing happening and potentially not being paid.
But it wasn't exactly what she imagined. Nothing like all those great adventures the heroes in her stories went through. No dragon slaying, no corrupt king, no magical forest... Just an escort to another city. With nothing happening.
After a few hours, Veronica was getting antsy and fidgety, unable to really sit still. She wasn't used to just sitting around for hours doing nothing. And sadly, she brought nothing to keep her occupied. She glanced at Cassidy, who was taking a nap, using Veronica as a pillow, and thought for a mont.
'No, no... I can't exactly do that here. I'm so bored that I was actually thinking on doing that...'
"Bored?" A voice that no one else.could hear.
'Mhm.'
"Well, you could ask the small one if you could borrow a book. Or get Cassidy to give you a secret blow job."
Veronica grew red from the Succubus' advice.
'You know very well I can't do that. There's two children riding with us!'
"Book it is then." Lilith said with a smile.
"Are you okay, Veronica? Your face is red." Sirtia asked, putting her book down.
"Y-Yeah, yeah. I'm fine. Just trying to think on sothing to keep my mind occupied."
Sirtia nodded her head and dug in her travel bag for a bit.
"Do you prefer romance or fantasy?"
"Uh, romance." Veronica admitted.
Sirita nodded and handed Veronica one of the books she had brought.
'In The Beholder's Eye', seed like a romance novel between a female adventurer and a humanoid monster. Veronica recalled many people talking positively about this story, so she certainly wanted to read it. And this was the perfect place to do just that.
After reading for a few hours, she could tell that the story was a bit more raunchy than she thought. It wasn't just a story about a monster falling in love, it was also a story about two won. Two won doing various thing to each other. Was Sirtia into these kinds of thing or was just by chance that this story had so lewd actions?
Of course, Veronica wasn't going to stop reading the book. She was invested in it. Another couple of hours pass, beautiful monts in the story interrupted by the caravan pulling over to the side of the road.
"Hm? What's going on?" Cassidy asked before she yawned and got up.
"Seems like we're going to be taking g a break from traveling here. Stretch our legs, drink so water, maybe eat a bit. Then we'll sleep and continue again in the morning." Beatrice explained as she got up to take a look outside.
Beatrice stepped out with her son, then her daughter, followed by Seraph and Sirtia. And so, just going with the flow, Veronica and Cassidy followed them.
They pulled off just a bit far from the road, leaving it clear for anyone else going past. But where this caravan stopped, it was a rather large clearing and even a nicely sized pond just a bit further.
"Ah, finally. I needed to stretch!" Aviris said, bending over to do so stretching exercises.
"We'll be taking a break. Go ahead and stretch, play around, do whatever you girls want to do. We'll go ahead and setup camp here." The old man said, stretching his own back.
The girls grouped up and chatted to each other. From how uncomfortable they were, to conversations they were in, and even what they did to pass the ti.
And then, soone suggested to bathe in the pond. Which wasn't just a simple pond, it was actually a wider part of a river, aning the water is going to be at least sowhat clean.
So the girls all went over and started to undress, all except for Veronica, who simply stared.
