After their break, the girls had continued on. They thought that the murals might hold so kind of clue. After all, if the previous floor had a brand new creature, what would stop this floor from having the sa? Considering the murals on the walls depicting a large, strange creature... it seed possible.
What they could find was that the creature was capable of various feats, like so kind of immunity to magic, and maybe so way to freeze people.
"Paralysis? Ice magic? I wish these murals were more descriptive." Veronica muttered as she pulled herself away from the carved art upon the wall.
All they can tell was that it was large and certainly hard to kill. Lion, goat and snake... what did they have in common? Or what characteristics does this creature have that matches those three animals?
Honestly, it just frustrated the girls. Why? What use did these murals hold? Are they even important?
They just simply continued on just simply glancing at the murals they co by. More murals showing that is large. Another chunk that showed that it could beco immune to magic. Resistance to physical attacks. Were they walking into the jaws of death?
For a mont, the girls thought of turning back, but there seed to be a small voice, more like a passive feeling, in the back of their head telling them to continue on, to kill the boss of this floor, and then leave. An unseen force dragging them through the dungeon.
They clenched their weapons, silently focused on their spells, double checked their remaining equipnt. All of a sudden, their stress and anxiety went through the roof. Their hearts beat against their chest. Sweat rolled down their face.
Why were they so nervous? The floor was clear. There was nothing, not a single thing, that was stopping them from leaving. But they pushed on, against all feeling.
Each step felt like their feet were encased in stone. They had to force themselves to move against their own will.
Veronica wanted to just sleep. Cassidy was trying to stop her anxious shaking. Aviris was paranoid, constantly looking behind the group. Eleanora' eyes darted and quickly inspected the girls, looking for even the smallest of wounds.
anwhile, Seraph was mouthing a prayer of sorts. To whom, and for what, only she would know. Kazue was trying to calm everyone down with whatever spells she could cast with little to no effect. Sable controlled her breathing, rembering her training back east. And Sirtia was just following along, trying to fantasize about any one of her books, as for once, she could hear her dead heart thump loudly.
All the while Lilith was, sohow, lost. She didn't know where to go. There was no pulling force. Rather, it felt like sothing was trying to keep her away. More specifically, to focus her attention on Veronica. But why? She was fine, there aren't any issues. Sure, her mana was starting to swell up, but if she could manage to carefully release it with controlled spells, then there wouldn't be any issues.
Then, there it stood. A towering stone door. From floor to ceiling. And was roughly five or six Tishas wide.
"This... isn't the boss door... or at least... it wasn't last we ca through..." Sirtia said, confused on the physical change "It's always been a cell door. But this... uh..." She couldn't get her words out.
But, the girls decided, against every fiber in their being—to go through. Using all of their collective might, they pushed the door open, revealing a large room that led to a similar door on the other end, up a small set of stairs. The room itself was dimly lit with bonfires on each side of both doors.
But that roar... it sound like death incarnate.
