A short ti had passed since the girls had gotten to the forest and had recieved their temporary base of operations. Though, it would only be considered short by Elven terms. It's been roughly three days.
"I can't believe I'm saying this... but I'm tired of at. You'd think they would serve us so vegetables or fruit." Aviris complained, staring at the ceiling.
"What were you expecting from the race of cannibals? They eat nothing but what they kill. I've seen them starve themselves before a battle just so they can gorge themselves on a human shaped feast." Marriott interjected. "I swear, if they keep us here for one more day, I'm going to kill them all and report that they tried to imprison us."
"Captain, you aren't helping the peace-keeping mission Her Royal Majesty had sent us on." Veronica said, glaring at Marriott.
"Then what do you propose?" Marriott responded harshly.
"We wait and be patient. If we show them respect, they'll give us the sa in return."
The room fell silent. Only the tapping of Cassidy's finger being the only source of noise.
"Ver... wanna fuck?" Cassidy asked, bored out of her mind.
"Tempting, but no. Soone might interrupt~" Veronica answered, placing her head on Cassidy's shoulder.
"I can't believe you two would talk about that so... publicly." Arachne said, covering her mouth.
Before anyone could say anything more, the instantly recognizable sound of footsteps walking up to their residence. Without knocking, the door swund open, and the familiar face of their original Elven escort was revealed.
"It's ti to formally introduce myself. I will be your full ti escort for your duty in the forest, my na is Shaerrill." She said, going to the table and placing down a map. "I would love to spend ti talking with you all, but this needs to be done as soon as possible."
Everyone gathered around, wanting to make sure of the information they're getting. Shaerrill pointed to the south east side of the map.
"This is the village. And over here..." She started, moving her finger westward. "... is one of five known camps. Our scouts have confird others are here, here, here and here." The first location was the closest to the village. The other four were scattered about.
"So, we wipe these places out and we're done?" Aviris asked.
"If only it were that easy. These are all small groups of scouts. We need to strike them fast and silent. Then, we go here." Shaerrill pointed to a large circled area to the northwest. "They seem to be gathering in this area. Though, there shouldn't be anything there. They must've built up a small fort sowhere in this area, just outside of our patrols' sector."
"What exactly are these people doing?" Cassidy asked, placing a finger on her chin.
"They started off with small theft. Then, they started killing off our animals. They crossed the line when they started mass hunting. We've killed small groups here and there, but that only made them more aggressive. So..."
"We've got to cut them from their roots." Veronica finished Shaerrill's sentence.
"Exactly. We have to leave imdiately. Any questions?"
"Can I go on my own? I can get these two here." Aviris asked, point at the middle two encampnts.
"Are you sure you can take them?"
"Yeah. Wouldn't be the first ti. I'll et up with you at the fourth."
"That works. Anything else? No? Good."
Without wasting a beat, they all grabbed their equipnt and left, making their way out of the village and towards the first encampnt.
