Sophia’s POV
“Did you eat, Angel?” Hunter asked after a while of just hugging and holding each other close.
“I’m not hungry,” I mumbled, turning my head so I could bury my nose into his neck and fill my lungs with his scent.
I couldn’t get enough of it. No matter how deep I breathed it in, it just wasn’t enough. I wanted more. I wanted his scent to enter every part of my body and never leave.
“You need to eat, Sophia,” Hunter said and ran his fingers through my hair. “It’s been a while since you ate.”
I didn’t want to eat. I just wanted to breathe him in. That was more than enough. I took another deep intake of his scent and closed my eyes.
Hunter chuckled and rubbed my back gently.
“It looks like soone really missed ,” he said teasingly.
I nodded. Being away from him was torture. He was all I could think about when I was lying on that steel table. I missed his scent. I missed his arms around . I missed his lips. I missed everything about him.
“I missed you too, my love,” he said softly. “I missed you so much.”
He turned his head and kissed my cheek.
“Co on, Angel, you really need to eat,” he said, making groan quietly.
I lifted my head and he smiled at .
“I am more tired than I am hungry,” I said, making him sigh.
I really was tired. I was exhausted. If he hadn’t spoken, I would have fallen asleep in his arms.
He looked at the plate on the nightstand and frowned.
“It’s cold now anyway,” I said.
He looked back at and rolled his eyes.
“Promise that you will eat the second you wake up,” he said sternly.
“I promise,” I said, giving him a small smile.
He nodded and placed a soft kiss on my lips.
“Co on, Angel,” he said. “Let’s get you ho.”
I looked around the room and gulped. I couldn’t believe that I spent a few days locked up in here. I couldn’t wait to get out of here. I couldn’t wait to go ho.
“Do you rember everything?” Hunter asked quietly.
He caressed my cheek and leaned in to kiss my forehead.
“I do,” I said. “I rember everything I said and did.”
I looked at him and smiled.
“I rember you marking ,” I added quietly.
I rembered it like I was there. I rembered his lips on my skin. I rembered his words. I rembered the feel of his canines piercing through my skin. I didn’t rember it clearly, though. It was like trying to look through a foggy glass.
“You do?” he asked, raising his eyebrows a little.
“Not clearly, but yes,” I said. “Maybe we could do that again so I have a clear mory of it.”
A huge smile spread across his face.
“Of course, my love,” he said as he leaned his forehead on mine. “We can do it all over again. We have to do it all over again. You still need to mark .”
I caressed his cheek and smiled.
“I do,” I said quietly. “And I can’t wait to do it.”
Hunter grinned and kissed hard.
“I can’t wait, love,” he mumbled quietly. “It will be perfect.”
I cupped his cheeks and kissed him, trying to transfer all the love I had for him in that kiss. I wanted him to know how much I loved him.
“Fuck, Sophia,” he mumbled and tangled his fingers into my hair.
Our kiss was intense, but too short for my liking. I wanted to continue. I never wanted to leave his arms.
“I love you too,” he said. “I can’t wait for you to mark so I can show you just how much.”
I smiled and ran my fingers through his short beard.
“I already know that,” I said quietly, making him smile.
I knew exactly how much he loved and it made my whole body tremble. His love was all I needed and I was terrified it would be taken away from . I was sure that he would hate for killing his grandfather. I was sure that I wouldn’t feel his love ever again.

Hunter’s father.
I hadn’t even thought about him.
Oh, Goddess. What would he do? What would he say? He would surely be angry. He would tell Hunter to leave . He would.
“What’s wrong, Sophia?” Hunter asked with a hint of panic in his voice.
I would answer him, but the fear squeezed all the air out of my lungs. I couldn’t breathe.
What if his father took him from ?
He cupped my cheeks and looked at wide-eyed.
“What’s wrong?!” he asked again. “I can feel your panic and fear. What happened?!”
I gulped and I felt more tears fall on my cheeks.
“Goddess, Sophia, what’s wrong?!” Hunter exclaid as he pressed closer to him. “Talk to , love, please.”
He placed a small kiss on my lips and wiped my tears away. I had to force myself to speak. I had to let him know what was going on.
“Your dad,” I mumbled, making him furrow his eyebrows. “I killed his father. I...”
My voice broke and I couldn’t continue. I was too scared to speak. All that I could let out were broken sobs. I lowered my head a little. I couldn’t even look at Hunter.
What if I really lost him?
Stella whined loudly and tried to talk to . I couldn’t listen to her.
Hunter gasped and placed a finger under my chin. He lifted my head and shook his head.
“My dad doesn’t care, Angel,” Hunter said. “He was so angry at that fucker. He wanted him gone too.”
Hunter hugged tightly and kissed the top of my head.
“Nothing can separate us, my love, nothing,” he said softly. “My dad won’t stand between us, Sophia. No one will.”
I closed my eyes and tried to take a deep breath.
“My love,” Hunter mumbled and gently rubbed my back. “My only love.”
I leaned more into him and let his scent relax .
“Nothing and no one will take away from you, Angel,” Hunter whispered softly. “I am yours. Everything that I am is yours. Every part of is yours, love, and no one can take it away from you.”
I wrapped my arms around him tightly and let his words soothe my soul. I smiled and let him feel all the love I had for him. I needed him to know how much I loved him. I needed him to know that I was his as much as he was mine.
