There was an amusing dynamic between the three—Dusk, Caelan, and Tharion. Each of them thought the others were just kids.
With mories spanning over 300 years, Dusk naturally saw both Caelan and Tharion as re infants.
anwhile, the other two viewed Dusk as a re adolescent, barely more advanced than a child with a snotty nose.
"Then let tell you a piece of major news. A civilization existed on Earth over 800 million years ago," Dusk said.
All three were stunned by the claim. According to science, even animals might not have existed on Earth that far back.
"You know what kind of race lived on Earth at that ti?" Caelan asked, his tone doubtful yet curious.
"There were many," Dusk replied after recalling for a mont. "You could say it wasn’t any less diverse than it is now—perhaps even more. But only two races were truly noteworthy: demons and humans. In fact, demons possessed a far greater overall strength than humans. Back then, humans only occupied four continents."
In truth, even Dusk himself wasn’t certain how accurate this information was. He had only overheard fragnts from people sohow connected to ancient beings.
But that didn’t matter much. Sharing a few ancient facts wouldn’t bring any real harm. Besides, it was always interesting to throw a little chaos into the mix.
Lysandra, however, was lost in thought the mont she heard this revelation. Doubts began to spiral in her mind.
"If what you’re saying is true, then... is the theory of evolution even correct? Could it be that, like the religions say, humans were actually created by gods?" She asked, her voice laced with disbelief—as though the truths she once held dear were now slipping through her fingers.
And she wasn’t the only one. Her father and grandfather wore similar expressions of confusion. None of them could bring themselves to believe it completely—but if it was true... then what did that make humans?
It seed like a question too grand, sothing irrelevant to their lives. And yet, deep down, it wasn’t.
They were humans, after all. If even they didn’t know what they were, how could that be right?
"Well... not exactly," Dusk replied thoughtfully. "The theory of evolution wasn’t entirely wrong—even in that era. I’m not saying it’s perfect, but the general direction of its reasoning is... sowhat accurate."
"The Earth you knew," Dusk explained, "was rely a smaller, weaker version of its forr self. That’s why the process of evolution mirrored what happened 800 million years ago—only on a much smaller scale."
"How long did life exist on that ancient Earth?" she continued, her curiosity deepening.
This question actually stumped Dusk. He wasn’t so ancient being from that era—and even if he were, that didn’t an he’d know.
All he could do was shrug and say with a helpless smile,
"I don’t know. I’m not exactly an encyclopedia of ancient tis."
Suddenly, a far more pressing thought struck her.
What did any of this have to do with immortality?
Her chest tightened with unease. A chilling hypothesis surfaced in her mind—and if it turned out to be true, then the danger was unimaginable.
"Are you saying that... beings from 800 million years ago still exist today?" she asked, her voice low and uncertain. She didn’t want to believe it, yet the words ca out anyway.
Caelan and Tharion both froze, stunned. This wasn’t eighty years—they were talking about eight hundred million.
If there were people who had lived since that age, what could they possibly be called? Ancestors? Monsters? Gods?
Dusk was montarily surprised.
She caught on that quickly?
Still, it was a good sign. In this era, being smart was a survival trait—idiots died fast.
"Your guess is correct," Dusk nodded. "They are indeed starting to return—both humans and demons. And every single one of them is a high-ranked Heart Master."
As for their actual strength? He had no clue. But judging by the little he’d heard, these beings were likely far more powerful than he had ever been, even at his peak.
"What’s a Heart Master?" Tharion imdiately locked onto the most important detail.
Sothing about it struck a deep chord within him, as if his instincts scread that this knowledge was vital—essential.
Hearing the question, Dusk began to explain the nature and power of Heart Masters—at least, what he knew of them.
Anything beyond Rank 6? That was completely outside his realm of understanding.
After hearing news that was, quite frankly, terrifying as hell, cold sweat began to trickle down the foreheads of all three of them.
It was as if soone had just told them they were re ants, ready to be crushed at any mont.
For people from a family with a certain level of power like theirs, this truth wasn’t easy to swallow.
What made it worse was that Dusk had absolutely no reason to lie to them. Everything pointed to one undeniable fact—Earth had indeed beco far larger and far more dangerous than they had imagined.
Seeing how troubled they looked, Dusk simply smiled and let them process the truth on their own.
’Hah, just monts ago they looked so composed—now look at them. Is it really that hard to accept your own powerlessness?’
Humans were, by nature, small and weak. It was only by accepting this weakness that they could understand their true place in the world and build a path toward growth.
Those who remained trapped in the illusion that they were already strong would forever stay weak.
"Where are they now?" Tharion asked. He needed to know—if only to make plans accordingly.
Of course, no plan in his mind involved direct confrontation. Only the Four Great Governnts might have the power to stand a chance—and even that chance was slimr than winning a lottery jackpot.
"Haha, look at you all—what are you so worried about?" Dusk laughed. "It’ll be a long ti before any of them awaken. The stronger a being is, the longer it takes for them to return to Earth in a perfect state. Ti works differently for them. In fact, they might not even show up within a single human lifeti."
"At most," he added, "you might encounter their avatars. Those avatars are strong, sure, but you can beat them with numbers. They’re not that dangerous."
The truth was, Dusk didn’t particularly care about their return. If powerful demons ca back, so would powerful humans. At most, humanity would lose its position as the dominant species on Earth.
