After the golden light faded, everything on the street returned to calm.

The sky was dark, and the sound of vendors shouting could still be heard from the neighboring street.

"Finally... it’s over?"

Dongfang Chenyuan was a bit dazed. After coming back to his senses, he jumped to Xie Jiuxiao’s side in surprise and asked curiously, "Prince, how did you do it just now? You had such powerful spiritual power?"

Xie Jiuxiao looked deeply at Yu Nianzhao, shook his head, and said, "It’s Zhaozhao’s power, not mine."

Dongfang Chenyuan looked bewildered, scratched his head, and said, "But the power was emitted from the Prince."

Xie Jiuxiao raised his hand, looking at the sparkling white jade Buddha beads on his wrist, on which a faint golden halo still lingered, slowly sinking into them.

"Zhaozhao, did you do sothing to the Buddha beads? Did you grant so power?"

Xie Jiuxiao could feel it; this kind of spiritual power seed to be able to purify the evil spirits that had contaminated him.

[Yes, yes, the master’s divine power has been shared with you.]

[Such a great honor, is it possible that the master truly fancies this fellow?]

[His evil qi is indeed delicious, but sharing divine power still seems a bit much.]

[The master will have to start collecting divine power anew.]

Jiu Ying’s chirping voice sounded, and Xie Jiuxiao looked around blankly, as if hearing sothing, but the sound was very faint, and he couldn’t make out what it was saying.

"Cough, cough, cough..."

Yu Nianzhao opened her mouth and almost coughed up blood.

"Zhaozhao!"

Xie Jiuxiao’s eyes narrowed sharply as he imdiately embraced her and asked with concern, "What happened? Are you injured?"

Yu Nianzhao smiled bitterly and murmured nearly inaudibly, "Indeed, a bit too daring, shouldn’t have given away all my divine power, even leaving a tiny bit would have been fine."

[The master is injured!]

[The body wandering in the human world is already dead, relying solely on absorbing evil qi and incense to sustain life!]

[Originally having divine power would have been much better, but the master shared it, even having to split her focus to control the divine power she carries. No wonder she got hurt.]

[Master, you need to rest well to replenish your divine power.]

"Is it because of ?" Xie Jiuxiao felt a sharp pain in his heart seeing Yu Nianzhao’s pale and weak face. He pursed his lips tightly, staring at the Buddha beads as if trying to bore a hole in them.

"Cough, cough, cough, I’m fine. Just when the two forces collided earlier, it caused so internal injuries, but don’t worry, I’m not in much trouble. The person pulling the strings behind the ghost realm and corpse ghosts won’t fare well, he will definitely suffer more than I do."

Yu Nianzhao laughed grimly, clearly holding a grudge against the mastermind.

"A Daoist with such profound mystical skills in Shangjing?" Xie Jiuxiao shot a cold glance at Dongfang Chenyuan.

Dongfang Chenyuan shook his head and said, "Shouldn’t be, I’ve been in Shangjing for so many years, it’s not logical for such an adept Daoist to exist. The ones following the Emperor and Empress Dowager have so rits, but they can’t possibly have the ability to open such bizarre and powerful ghost realms. This I’m not sure about, I’d have to consult my father to find out, probably soone from his generation, or even my grandfather’s generation might have such capability."

"This person should not be within the palace."

Yu Nianzhao looked towards the outskirts, wiped the blood trickling from the corner of her mouth, and said lightly, "His thoughts run deep, aiming to kill in one strike! Daring to drag people into ghost realms in Shangjing, he certainly wouldn’t appear nearby!"

"Mu Hongxuan, send soone to investigate!" Xie Jiuxiao commanded with clenched teeth, voice angry.

"Yes, Prince!"

Mu Hongxuan in the shadows promptly left Shangjing with the Dragon Shadow Guards to seek the trail.

"Phew! I’m exhausted, exhausted! Let’s head back to the mansion first; the corpse poison on Chenyue is spreading. If not stopped quickly, she won’t endure it and will transform into a corpse ghost."

Yu Nianzhao stood upright, and Xie Jiuxiao, however, scooped her up in his arms.

Xie Jiuxiao looked down at her, "You’re injured, I’ll carry you back to the mansion."

Yu Nianzhao wrapped her arms around Xie Jiuxiao’s neck, blinked her srizing eyes, and said, "Alright, then I’ll trouble you."

She indeed was tired, expending too much power today and even distributing her divine power. Having soone carry her back without needing to walk herself was just perfect; she was happy to relax.

"Alright, alright, let’s go back quickly."

The situation with Dongfang Chenyue indeed wasn’t optimistic, Dongfang Chenyuan was also anxious, and the group hurried back to Prince Su Mansion to bring a doctor to treat Dongfang Chenyue.

In a rundown temple outside Shangjing.

"Pfft—"

A handso Daoist with an immortal aura sat on the ditation mat, blood spewing from his mouth, collapsing dejectedly.

His disciple guarding outside rushed in upon hearing the noise.

"Master, are you alright?"

Yong’an Daoist saw the blood all over the ground, face turning pale from fright, quickly knelt down.

"Whoa!"

The other disciples following behind let out an odd cry.

Yong’an Daoist watched helplessly as his always young-looking master had inch-by-inch black hair turning white.

"Master, your hair..."

"That person’s na is Yu Nianzhao?"

The robust voice had beco weak, Lianzhao Mage extrely frail. His gaze was sinister, brushing the white strands falling over his shoulders, fists clenched tightly.

"Yes, Master, we used the ghost realm against her earlier, but didn’t succeed?"

Yong’an Daoist noticed his expression, heart sinking as he already guessed the result.

"Heh... She’s truly more capable than either of us imagined, actually breaking my cultivation technique."

Lianzhao Mage couldn’t move without pain tightening his brows, "Yong’an, did you really tell the truth, she’s just a sixteen-year-old girl?"

"Yes, definitely; we’ve investigated her ancestors up to eighteen generations, but found no other background. She really is just a girl who went to Tomb Guard City, never expected her to possess such mystical skills, even breaking the Master’s cultivation technique? What now? Master’s cultivation technique is unmatched, what technique did she use?"

Yong’an Daoist felt his scalp tingle, face turning ashen, since it was him requesting the Master to eliminate Yu Nianzhao, yet it broke the Master’s cultivation technique, truly a grave sin.

"Tomb Guard City?"

Lianzhao Mage muttered, "Now my internal organs have been grievously injured, without the cultivation technique protecting , I might’ve been dead!"

"So severe..." Yong’an Daoist couldn’t stop his cold sweat from flowing.

"She destroyed the corpse ghosts I crafted personally; her capability is not to be underestimated! We should have drawn her in gradually, now being enemies, I’m afraid it’s hard to resolve."

Lianzhao Mage suppressedly said, "I need to enter seclusion for a period. During this ti, you must not provoke her further, wait until I co out before making plans."

"Yes, Master!"
