Chapter 315: I am, indeed, easy.

"Say, if I abduct you now, will you hate ?"

I scrunched my nose up in dismay, a little taken aback at Sven’s greeting. It made

wonder whether the wire in his head was plugged properly or whether there was a mixed up.

"Is that how you greet others good night in your holand?" I asked in dismay, only to receive a chuckle as a reply.

"I just suddenly had this thought of abducting you." My frown deepened as he sat comfortably on the railing. "But I still need to ask to be polite."

"Who in the world would ask their victim before they victimized them?"

"?"

"Goodness..." I pinched the space between my brows, as I couldn’t believe I was worried for him.

"So?"

"Are you seriously asking that question?" I snapped my eyes at him when he urged. Much to my dismay, Sven nodded with an almost innocent expression only a child could wear.

"Yes!" I exclaid with a voice a lot lower than I expected. "Why would I not hate the person who abducts ? Am I crazy?"

"Right..." he nodded in agreent as if that only made sense when I spelled it out for him. Seriously. I was lost for words for this man.

"Damn it."

"Don’t make it sound like you missed an opportunity." I clicked my tongue and shook my head, leaning my side against the railings. "Or... are you seriously thinking of abducting ?"

"Do you think I was joking?"

"Hah... and you think you can do that?" I asked sarcastically. "I know you’re capable since you were able to knock Paris unconscious, but I can defend myself."

Sven simply gazed at

as if my words were ineffective. "It’s because of that face."

"My face?"

"Yes. That look you give ." He pointed at , making

frown in dismay. "Whenever you look at

with that face and those eyes, it makes

sad."

"Pardon?"

"You always look like a girl trapped in her own prison," he continued in the sa somber tone. "The problem is, the prison isn’t this place, but it’s within you. I can only think of abducting you and forcing you out of that shell."

"..."

All I could do was stare at him, watching my poise from breaking. I should be angry — there were a lot of things to be angry about at his remarks. But I didn’t. It was true in a way, and I couldn’t argue with the truth just to make myself look foolish.

"Are you always like this?" I asked after a long silence. "Do you always say whatever you want without regard to the person who is hearing it?"

"Mhm. I do."

I scoffed and shook my head. "Leave once you’re done using my balcony." I drew away from the railing to walk back to my room.

"Don’t go." I stopped before I reached the door and looked back at him at his request. "Stay here."

"And now you also think I should listen to you?"

"No." He lowered his eyes. "If you keep going back inside, I don’t think you’ll ever co out."

My frown deepened, and before I could refuse or ignore him, he continued.

"I’m not used to the way you people talk in here. I speak without a filter and wear my heart on my sleeve. I speak what I think and oftentis, I offend people." Sven raised his head and revealed his solemn front. "I’m not saying it’s a good trait, and even when I tried to fix it, I can’t. Soone needs to speak the naked truth, but no one likes to see or hear it."

"Still, I apologize if I offend you in the way I speak and point things out," he added sincerely. "I didn’t an it that way. Don’t go inside and just catch a cold with

in here."

My mouth opened and closed, but my refusal was stuck in my throat. In the end, I could only stare back at him before a shallow breath slipped past my lips.

’I think he was correct,’ I thought, ntally pinching myself. ’I am, indeed, easy.’

"I’m a vampire. I don’t catch a cold." I walked back to where I had stood previously. But instead of standing, I turned around, planted my palms on the railing, and jumped slightly until I was sitting on it.

"Now, what?" I asked, casting him a look. "Will we just stare at each other?"

The side of his lips stretched subtly before he cleared his throat. "Well..." he pivoted on his rear until his feet were facing the garden, swinging them back and forth.

"Do you want to hear about the first country I landed in when I started my adventure?" he asked, throwing his head back, eyes on .

"That’s how you want to kill ti? To bore

to death?"

He grinned and peeled his eyes away from . And as if he didn’t hear my sarcasm, Sven started his story-telling.

"It’s a small country..." I scrunched my nose up, eyes on him. I studied the large grin on his face and how his eyes twinkled in excitent as if he could vividly rember that ti one year ago.

As he shared his adventure in this small country he first landed in, I could not help but wonder. What was I doing at the sa ti?

I lowered my eyes to hide the bitterness that resurfaced in them. At the ti Sven was having a thrilling adventure, getting caught up by authorities for unknowingly ssing with a monunt that apparently the townsfolk worshiped. He was chased by them with a torch and pitchfork, put on a stake to be burned, and eventually escaped with his tail in between his legs.

Although it sounded like a distressing situation I didn’t want to be in, the look in his eyes told

it was fun. What was I doing at the sa ti as he was experiencing all that?

The sa. That was my answer. My days and nights were the sa from decades ago until now.

"Now that I think about it, I can’t go back there!" he gasped as realization dawned on him. "They will kill

if they see

again!"

I raised my head and looked at his silly countenance. I didn’t know how much ti passed since he started his story, but when he stopped stressing over how he could compensate those people, I spoke.

"What about the next place you went to?" I asked, causing his brows to furrow as he looked at

in puzzlent. "Tell

about it."

He blinked twice before the side of his lips curled up excitedly. "About the next land. It’s called a kingdom of green..."
