Chapter 248: Return to Ronmin at once!

Niall’s heart was screaming.

Along with his remarks full of hatred and raging anger, his heart was screaming for help. It was begging

to hold him, to choose him for once, and to stay. Even if I had to crush him or hate him, it didn’t matter, as long as he wasn’t left abandoned.

But... I couldn’t.

My husband, Hugo, needed .

I knew the werewolves wouldn’t fall overnight if Azazel showed who he really was. But Hugo would still need . Azazel had been walking on the surface of this world for a long ti, laid a ticulous plan to deceive everyone, and was completely successful.

He simply wanted

out of the werewolves’ reach to go on with his plan. He could’ve done it with my three-year separation from Hugo. But if my hypothesis was correct, Azazel hadn’t had enough powers back then. He was still in the process of collecting more... witches and powers.

Niall was correct.

To fool the Lamb, the guardian of the mortal realm, one must fool the world first. Azazel knew this very well. Hence, he had planned to rewrite everyone’s story, including his. He and I... our brain sohow moved the sa. His only advantage was, he already made a move years before I did.

I ground my teeth, speeding through the borders of Hendrik like a shadow. It didn’t take long when the fortress surrounding the empire ca to sight and I shortly entered the territory at the sa speed. I reached Hendrik from Ronmin in a few days. Even with this speed, it would take

two full days.

"Natan!!!!" I yelled my lungs out, disrupting birds from their nest at my echoing voice. "Natan!!!!"

My voice kept echoing louder every ti. I kept yelling and calling my husband’s people’s nas until a faint light to the end of the forest lane ca into sight. I ground my teeth harder, picking up my pace.

As soon as I entered the small forest clearing where they set up their camped, I halted and furrowed my brows. Natan, along with Winter and Mitch, stood to the left, baring their teeth at the people who stood on the opposite side. When they turned their heads in my direction, their eyes dilated.

"Addler!" I called, and they snapped their eyes.

"Luna, why..." Natan trailed off as he knitted his brows, gazing at my clothes that were stained with blood. Lots of blood.

"Luna, are you alright?!" Winter gasped, wide-eyed.

I would love to reassure them, but I was in a hurry. I darted my eyes between the witches and vampires and werewolves. It seed... they hadn’t found a common denominator.

"Lamb, what happened to you?" asked Dorothy while studying my figure. "Why..."

"Niall is dead," I announced without beating around the bush, watching them sport puzzlent before shock dominated their face. "To make the story short, Niall... it’s Azazel. Azazel is the one who is behind all of this."

"What..."

"We have to return to Ronmin at once," I continued without leaving a room for negotiation, shifting my eyes to Addler’s group. "You too, Addler, and the witches. You need to co with us. I will fill you in with the details on the way."

[RONMIN EMPIRE]

Ivo gazed at Hugo, who was sitting on the chair near the window in silence. The latter had his jaw propped against his knuckles, eyes on the window. anwhile, Ivo remained standing in a distance in the study room they were in.

"Is that so?" Hugo broke the ice with his warm baritone voice, tapping his fingers simultaneously against the armrest.

"The preparation is complete, Your Grace. We can start making our move at your behest."

Silence once again filled the study room as Hugo kept his mouth shut. When his lips parted, Ivo’s brows rose.

"Alpha Hugo?" called Ivo while tilting his head to the side.

"Is Vic bullying you?" Hugo repeated, casting Ivo a nonchalant side-eye. "She keeps throwing a tantrum because I give you more work than her."

"Her Highness simply wants to be more involved, Your Grace." Ivo cleared his throat, biting his tongue, stopping himself from ratting Elizabeth out. Although this was a rare question, Ivo didn’t think he would ever hear from his alpha. Adding unnecessary problems would help no one.

He gazed at Hugo’s side profile and pursed his lips. Hugo had been entrusting too many things to Ivo since Rinnie left three years ago. But lately, the Alpha of the Mad wolf pack was going so far as to show he only trusted Ivo. He would even let Ivo do his bidding and listen to the plan Ivo proposed.

Ivo felt honored, but at the sa ti, he felt sothing was wrong. Keen as he was, he simply didn’t raise questions and followed Hugo’s every order. Be it planning or making big decisions; Ivo gave his all, even though the Tempest siblings were starting to get annoyed by this.

"I guess she is giving you a hard ti." Ivo froze when Hugo muttered with an air of nonchalance, raising his eyes to see that the latter set his eyes back to the window. "Tonight is eerily silent, don’t you think?"

"Yes?" Ivo furrowed his brows, studying Hugo’s calm deanor. "Alpha, are you thinking about Luna?"

Hugo rocked his head mildly with his lips closed. "I missed her."

"Our Luna will be fine." Ivo attempted to cheer him up, but to his dismay, Hugo didn’t have a change of reaction.

Did he really miss Rinnie?

Was he worried?

Hugo had been acting strange — not the kind of strange he was doing sothing suspicious. But Hugo had been strangely calm ever since Rinnie left for Hendrik.

"Alpha is there..." he trailed off when Hugo planted his hand on the armrest and took off his leg over the other before he stood up. "Are you going out?"

Hugo’s brow rose, sporting an innocent look. "Ivo, since when did you start asking so many questions?"

"Alpha, what do you an, since when? I wouldn’t try this hard if you were not strangely calm." Ivo pouted and clicked his tongue, making Hugo smirk.

"I’m going for a walk." Hugo chuckled whilst walking towards the door.

But when he was about to pass by Ivo, he planted a palm on his shoulder. His lips parted, barely making a sound, but Ivo’s eyes slowly dilated as his complexion instantly turned pale.
