Chapter 39: Chapter 39: Director He Yan Apologizes!”_1 Chapter 39: Chapter 39: Director He Yan Apologizes!”_1 “Is there really no way left?” Lady Mo asked desperately.

Doctor Tom shook his head again, “With my dical skills, I can only hold him off for half an hour at most!”

Hearing Doctor Tom’s words, as if a death sentence had been pronounced, the middle-aged woman and Lady Mo slumped into the chairs outside the ergency room, both clutching their heads in grief.

A mont later, Lady Mo wiped away her tears and choked out to her daughter-in-law.

“Shufen, call Zhao Yuan! Tell him to rush to the hospital as soon as possible to see his father for the last ti!”

When Li Shufen heard that she had to call her husband, hesitation flashed across her face, “Mom, Zhao Yuan is in the crucial mont of his campaign…”

Old Lady Mo’s face darkened suddenly, “What could be more important than his father?”

She knew that her son’s campaign was at a critical juncture and couldn’t afford any hiccup, but with her husband’s life hanging by the thread, her son’s absence at the deathbed would raise many questions later on, even if he won the election.

Li Shufen was still reluctant. This was her husband’s golden opportunity to achieve great success, and if he ca back at this ti to mourn, his father’s passing wouldn’t remain a secret.

If that happened, her husband, losing his greatest support, may very well lose this election!

As her daughter-in-law still didn’t make the call, the old lady’s hope was waning.

Mo’s elderly lady gritted her teeth, “Fine, if you won’t make the call, I will!”

Li Shufen panicked. Her mind was racing to stop the old lady, when her gaze fell on Yan Ling standing nearby.

Li Shufen suddenly shouted, “Mom, don’t lose hope, there’s still a chance to save Dad!”

Hearing this, the old lady’s hand froze in the act of dialing.

Pointing at Yan Ling, Li Shufen continued, “Did she not say she could save Dad? Let her do it! If she fails, we’ll bla her for killing Dad!”

The shaless comnt imdiately drew criticism from Professor He, “Now that’s unreasonable! If it wasn’t for your status as Mo’s daughter-in-law, the old man would have slapped you!”

Qi Tiantian joined in, “Exactly, who would be stupid enough to save soone under threat?”

Lady Mo was not fool, she cald down after hearing these words.

When Professor He and Doctor Tom both said there was no way out, only the young female doctor in front of her remained silent and hadn’t left.

That ant she must have a solution!

Lady Mo was sowhat humiliated, but thinking about her husband’s illness, she finally approached Yan Ling, swallowing her pride and pleaded, “Dr. Yan, I beg you, please save my husband…”

Yan Ling had wanted to save the patient from the mont Doctor Tom pronounced Lady Mo’s husband’s death, but wanting to save soone and being threatened to do so were two different things.

“Lady, it’s not that I don’t want to save him,” Yan Ling gave a wry smile, “if it was a few minutes ago, I could have had a 60% chance of success – now, it’s less than 30%…”

At these words, Lady Mo’s face turned pale instantly, she shot a fierce glance at Li Shufen, “Li Shufen, this is all your fault! Apologize to Director Yan right now!”

Li Shufen had never seen the old lady so angry; she knew she was serious.

But she was still reluctant to apologize, mumbling, “Who knows if she is just saying this on purpose.”

“Shut up!” The old lady beca so angry she nearly had a heart attack, “If you don’t apologize now, I will demand Zhao Yuan to divorce you when he cos back!”

Upon hearing this, it felt like a slap had landed on Li Shufen’s face.

Her face shown shock and she lost all her previous arrogance.

“I’m sorry, Director Yan. I apologize for what I said before! I hope you will forgive my past mistakes and save my father!”
