"Mr. Chu, you already have a decent foundation in cooking; what you lack is a profound understanding of ingredients and cooking techniques. You probably haven't studied cooking in depth, have you, Mr. Chu?"
In the sixty-square-ter kitchen of Emperor's Mansion Villa Number One, a slightly overweight middle-aged chef with a sowhat reserved deanor was stir-frying ribs in a pan.
Next to him, a tall and thin young man with a pair of golden glasses perched on his nose, held a chef's knife made in Germany, carefully slicing potatoes into thin strips.
"Chef Li, you're absolutely right. Before, I just watched videos of other people cooking online and fumbled through on my own, which is why my techniques are rather rough. The dishes I make are at most ho-cooking level and can't compare at all to the fine skills of Chef Li like you."
The handcrafted chef's knife in his hand, inlaid with six diamonds, could even slice hair lengthwise, and its price tag was a staggering two hundred thousand RMB!
The entire kitchen was filled with the fantastic colors of technology.
And it wasn't until that mont that Chu Mo seed to sowhat understand the astronomical remodeling costs of the villa.
Just the expenses for this one kitchen alone would definitely not be less than three million!
Naturally, spending money certainly has its advantages. The kitchen was fully equipped with all kinds of utensils, and the handling of various ingredients was absolutely ticulous. Coupled with the top-notch culinary skills of the chubby middle-aged man at his side, Chu Mo, who was responsible for nial tasks, learned a great deal.
Not to ntion anything else, just a simple dish like spicy and sour potato strips could only be made barely edible by Chu Mo's skills, while Chef Li's cooking beside him could make one drool!
The gap between a star chef and ordinary ho-cooked dishes is really huge!
After a whole morning of busyness, Chu Mo ca out of the kitchen, and looking at the ten or so dishes beautifully presented on the dining table, although he only played a supporting role and did not cook personally, he still felt a sense of satisfaction.
After taking a shower in the bathroom to wash away the sll of grease, Chu Mo ca out to find that the maid was just serving the last dish of sweet and sour fish on the dining table!
After drying his hair and sitting down next to the dining room, apart from two quiet maids standing by to serve, the butler Danny was also standing quietly behind him!
Therefore, at the grand dining table in front of him, there were a total of eighteen dishes for Chu Mo to enjoy alone.
He suddenly felt a bit uncomfortable at heart, feeling as if sothing was missing. Picking up his chopsticks, Chu Mo casually picked up so of the potato strips in front of him but didn't rush to taste them. Instead, he observed them carefully.
He had cut every single one of these potato strips himself, even demanding that each strip be almost exactly the sa in length and thickness. When cutting the potato strips, Chu Mo had been very attentive. Naturally, regardless of the taste, just the appearance of this dish of potato strips was quite impressive.
After a mont, he gently placed a strand in his mouth to taste, and his eyes sparkled slightly as he suddenly said:
"Danny, ask Chef Li to join us for the al!"
As the words fell, the middle-aged butler, who had been standing behind him, ready to attend to his needs, naturally nodded in agreent.
In just a minute or two, the chef with his plump cheeks and cautious deanor arrived at the dining room door.
"Mr. Chu, you called for ?"
"Sit down. This al is the result of our joint effort; we should share it together. Don't be reserved!"
Li Long, hesitating at the door of the dining room, bit his lip and after a mont, reluctantly took a seat next to Chu Mo.
"Chef Li, where are you from?"
While enjoying the al, Chu Mo casually engaged in conversation, looking at ease.
Upon hearing this, Li Long, who had just picked up his chopsticks, imdiately sat up straight and cautiously replied:
"Mr. Chu, I'm from Huizhou!"
Chu Mo, picking up a rib, nodded slightly. He had intended to make idle chatter, but upon seeing the thin sweat on the other's forehead and his proper sitting posture, he chose to say no more!
Chu Mo ate his al very casually, but the chef, Li Long, by his side only took a couple of bites before leaving respectfully once they were done. It wasn't until he let out a sigh that Chu Mo realized why he'd felt so hollow inside just monts ago!
It was because there was no one by his side to share the delicious food with him!
In the entire villa, aside from himself, the master of the house, including the butler Danny, there were a total of eleven servants. But none of them was soone with whom he could share a heartfelt conversation!
…
Chu Mo's plan to improve his culinary skills was officially underway. He never had many hobbies to begin with, writing was one, and cooking could be counted as half a hobby.
As for sophisticated activities like playing golf, bowling, or horseback riding at the racetrack, he had no interest in any of them.
Being of a laid-back nature, Chu Mo thought it pointless to waste ti cultivating high-end hobbies that didn't interest him, preferring instead to max out the few he genuinely enjoyed.
Enhancing his cooking skills had always been part of the plan, it was just that he'd only seriously put it into action today!
Of course, even if Chu Mo's cooking reached the standard of a star-rated chef, aside from his parents, there likely wouldn't be many others in the entire world whom he'd cook for personally!
He had hardly touched the dishes on the dining table, but feeling almost full, Chu Mo left the table and took the elevator to the third floor. He was planning to take an afternoon nap when his phone in his pocket suddenly rang.
Glancing at the caller ID, Chu Mo with his usual calm deanor pressed the answer button.
"Mr. Chu, I've signed for the villa on Greenery Boulevard for Manager Lin, but there's so dispute about the shares in Bafang International Hotel. The four senior executives seem to have discussed it, and are only willing to give us twenty-five percent of the stakes.
I struggled for a long ti and even talked to Li Tianming privately, but it seems they have reached a consensus and are completely unwilling to budge. What do you think, Mr. Chu…?"
Zhan Bingxue's voice on the other end was careful, and even through the phone, one could feel her unease.
Standing on the balcony on the third floor of Villa Number One, overlooking the lush gardens below, Chu Mo frowned slightly but did not imdiately answer, instead, he took the matter seriously.
The Zhan Bingxue on the line didn't rush him or show the slightest discontent, rely waiting quietly.
After a minute, Chu Mo let out a light sigh and spoke,
"Stick to the thirty percent of shares, and we can add an extra three hundred million RMB for the renovation and upgrade of the hotel. Tell them that's my bottom line. If there are any disagreents, then there will be no further discussion!"
After hanging up the phone, Chu Mo, as if nothing had happened, wandered back to the bedroom and sprawled lazily on the comfortable big bed. While casually scrolling through his social dia feed, he saw a familiar image!
In his phone, the social dia showed a picture of a graceful figure stretching languidly, and the background behind that figure was the very sa big bed and bedroom he was lying in!
"Waking up to beautiful sunlight, a good mood for the day!"
Seeing the text accompanying the picture, Chu Mo suddenly let out a quiet chuckle!
Naturally, the only person who could use his bedroom as a background for social dia was the mischievous girl, Tao Yun!
A week ago, Chu Mo had invited Chu Xiner and a few of her roommates to visit his ho, and at that ti, Tao Yun took many photos throughout the villa, including many in this bedroom. Before leaving, Tao Yun and a few other girls added Chu Mo on WeChat.
Chu Mo seldom checked his social dia feed before, so he hadn't paid it much mind, but now stumbling upon it, he found Tao Yun's posts quite amusing. Since a week ago, she had been posting a picture taken at the villa every day, each accompanied by a seemingly casual yet significant caption.
Even the luxurious lunch at the restaurant that day was featured for three consecutive days!
Chu Mo could even imagine the envy and jealousy in the comnts on her social dia!
Shaking his head with a smile and not minding the matter, Chu Mo was about to turn off his phone when a ssage notification suddenly popped up in WeChat.
"Big brother Chu, are you there?"
