Chapter 315: Chapter 222: The Legendary Lap Pillow
The maid nad Xia Xue had long hair draped over her shoulders. She wore a light blue bridesmaid dress that matched the style of several other girls’, with a pair of willow eyebrows curving tenderly like water.
Standing at approximately 1.72 ters, she didn’t have an advantage among the maids who were, on average, over 1.7 ters tall. However, this girl had willow-like tender eyebrows and a pair of bright eyes that possessed the magic to make anyone fall at a glance.

Chu Mo had foreseen this situation. This was the entrance of just one of the eight bridesmaids; if all eight appeared at once, the scene might be even more exaggerated than now. His gaze fell on the girl who was very close to him, and he said softly,
“What are you doing here?”
With her cheeks flushed attractively, Xia Xue looked down slightly. After a mont, she spoke softly,
“I was just thinking about going to the restroom… When I saw Mr. Chu in distress, I didn’t think twice and just ran over here. Mr. Chu, I probably can’t hold on for much longer. While I still can, let take on more for you!”
As her words ended, she gently bit her rosy red lips, then took the initiative to step up the stairs. When she caught up with the three bewildered groomsn, she directly picked up a glass of another bubbly drink from the steps. Without any hesitation, she slightly tilted her head back and poured it into her delicate mouth.
Chu Mo was montarily stunned. He had not expected this girl nad Xia Xue to be so decisive, not even giving him ti to object. She just took matters into her own hands and acted on her own.

When Chu Mo approached his best man Li Fei, he lowered his voice and said to him,
“The drink I just had was white spirits, two shots worth. This girl hasn’t drunk before, she might bring it up soon. I’m going to take her outside for so air.”
Li Fei, with a big red flower pinned to his chest, imdiately nodded and asked with concern,
“Are you sure it’s okay?”
Chu Mo smiled, waved his hand, and then turned to signal to Wang Tuo on the stairs. The latter nodded slightly and without a word picked up two drinks and downed the contents in one go.
As Chu Mo led Xia Xue out of the building, another burst of enthusiastic cheering ca from the hall. As the three groomsn put in effort, the variety of drinks at the stairwell was finished quickly, the groom finally ascended to the second floor, and the crowd surged up as well.
Laughter and cheers soon spread from upstairs; the groom had clearly overco the final challenges and t his bride. As for the noisy celebrations to follow, Chu Mo couldn’t take care of it anymore.
After leading Xia Xue out of the hall, he walked towards the nearby riverbank. This was a suburban area, devoid of the city’s glamorous bloom, but also free from its bustling traffic. Standing on the grass by the river, the water in front wasn’t crystal clear but wasn’t foul-slling either. Gusty breezes blew by, yet Chu Mo felt little comfort, as his mouth and stomach churned uncomfortably.
He had had a drink with chili in it earlier, and even the plain water contained salt and vinegar. With all sorts of flavors rising in his stomach, he felt very uncomfortable.
But for the smooth sailing of his brother’s big day, he had no choice but to grit his teeth and bear it.
When he turned to look at Xia Xue beside him, he found the girl becoming increasingly delirious, her face alternating between pale and red. Chu Mo was about to ask if she wanted to drink so water when the girl who had suddenly bent down finally brought up the alcohol…!

The dimpled girl nodded promptly, opened the car door, and with a bottle of water in hand, casually strolled toward the opposite riverside.
With one less person in the back, the space imdiately beca more spacious. The driver in front and the bodyguard in the passenger seat quickly got the hint and exited the car, leaving only Chu Mo and Qiu Shui inside.
“What’s wrong with that girl Xia Xue? She said she was going to the restroom just now!”
Chu Mo picked up the half-drunk bottle of mineral water beside him, not caring whether it belonged to Qiu Shui or the dimpled girl who had left it, opened it, and finished the rest of the water with a few gulps. Only then did he manage to suppress the churning in his stomach, feeling a bit better at last.
He looked out of the car window, but due to the buildings opposite, he couldn’t see the girls by the riverside. Turning away from the view, he said softly:
“It’s nothing serious, they’re having the ‘bridal chamber commotion’ upstairs. The bride’s family prepared many strange and curious drinks, and just now, Xia Xue blocked a glass of white liquor for . She’s now by the river sobering up. I felt unwell, so I didn’t accompany her!”
After Chu Mo spoke, Qiu Shui uttered a soft “Oh” and fell silent.
