’Have they lost their minds to bring here?!’

Eric scread in his heart, an expression of disbelief and horror evident on his face.

Rokan noticed it, his lips curling into an amused smile, "Ah, so you noticed it."

"Yes, this is the swamp you think it is." he revealed.

Eric shuddered, suddenly realizing why they had brought him there.

Fixing a pleading gaze at Rokan, Eric implored desperately, "Hey, this is too cruel of a death even for an enemy. If you want to kill , then just stab with a knife or sothing, damn it!"

Eric dreaded even the thought of what would happen to him if Rokan succeeded in what he planned to do with him.

"No no no," Rokan shook a finger at him, smiling in amusent, "Any other thod will leave clues behind. After all, killing a fellow tribe mber is a cri punishable by death. I cannot be careless or lax about this."

Eric’s face paled visibly at his response, shivering from just imagining the horrifying death that awaited him.

However, in a desperate attempt, he tried to talk so sense into this brother in law of his.

"If you know killing is a cri that can lead to your death, then why even do it? Just think about it. We are relatives; we should be on each other’s side, not against one another. If there is sothing you don’t like about , I’m ready to change. Just spare , please."

Hearing his desperate cries, Rokan sighed, "I already told you why I cannot spare you. Were you not listening?"

Eric blinked twice, and then rembered what Rokan was referring to.

When Eric had been busy looking at the surrounding area to find out where they had brought him, Rokan was telling him the reason for killing him; however, he didn’t pay attention to his words then.

Eric coughed awkwardly and looked away. "Could you please repeat? I didn’t pay attention then."

"Oh," Rokan forced a smile as the corner of his mouth twitched, "Since you are about to die anyway, I suppose I can repeat."

Rokan inhaled a deep breath, calming down before speaking, "Listen carefully this ti."

"There is more than one reason to kill you."

He showed a finger.

"Your sister, my wife, hates you and wants you dead."

He raised another.

"Secondly, you are the only son of the previous patriarch. You have a rightful claim to the seat of patriarchy. If you were strong enough, you would have been crowned the patriarch without a second thought."

Shaking his head, he continued,

"However, even though you are the weakest in our tribe with no hope of growing stronger, it is still highly possible that you will grow in strength in the future and beco a threat to my father’s ambition to claim the patriarch’s seat."

Revealing a mildly excited smile, he added,

"Since after my father, I will beco the village patriarch, so your existence is a threat to as well. That’s why I need you gone."

Eric blinked twice upon hearing that, his lips parting before closing once again. It appeared he was at a loss for words.

However, his mind was working fine.

’Fuck! Just because I may beco a threat in the future, you want to kill ? And my sister hating ? Can that even be counted as a reason to kill soone? I hated multiple people in my previous life, but that doesn’t an I should just get rid of them like this! This is simply insane.’

However, Eric froze imdiately once he saw another finger rising from Rokan’s hand.

"Third reason, and maybe the most important one amongst all, is your younger stepsister, Lira." He gritted his teeth. "She adores you, almost to the point of borderline obsessed. Till you are alive, she won’t even look at ."

Eric’s eyes widened in shock.

However, Rokan didn’t stop. "Whenever I try to talk to her, she looks at with disgust just because I bully you. But once you are gone, she won’t have any reason to hate , right?"

He almost sounded like a psychopath to Eric.

’So, I’m going to die because one of my sisters hates , the other one loves too much, and lastly, because I’m my father’s son?’

Eric was baffled.

"You are already married to my elder sister. Why are you even after my younger sister?" Eric asked, raising an eyebrow.

Rokan gave him a look of faint contempt. "It’s because your elder sister hasn’t borne a child even after nine months of our marriage. I need a new wife."

Eric gave him a dark look. "But why only go after my sisters? There are other won in the tribe."

Eric wanted to survive, and to do that, he needed to eliminate the reasons Rokan had for wanting to kill him. Among them, the third reason was the most difficult and important to get rid of.

A man in love and lust was the most difficult to reason with.

Rokan spoke in an obvious tone, "Well, they are gorgeous; however, the reason for wanting to marry Lira is the sa as when I married your elder sister. The bloodline of the previous patriarch. Only the child born of his bloodline can beco the most powerful warrior in all the tribes."

Eric pondered on how to reply; however, Rokan didn’t give him any ti.

Glancing at Daulk, he ordered, "Daulk, let’s begin the execution."

Eric froze.

It was only in the next mont that he yelled in desperation, "Wait! Wait! I want to ask sothing!"

Eric didn’t have anything in mind regarding the solution to his escape; however, he did have one question.

"How co you kidnapped so openly inside the inner circle? Also, why weren’t there guards at the entrance? And weren’t you afraid I would scream and the Village Patriarch would notice you?"

Daulk was already moving; however, Rokan stopped him. "Wait, Daulk. Let’s answer the dying man’s last question."
