The maid trooped in as soon as I rang the little bell, and I started to get undressed.

While I was getting undressed, a few of the maids went to heat up the water to the right temperature.

And while this was going on, while I was ticulously being attended to, I replayed Min-Cheol’s reaction repeatedly, the way he had looked at before leaving, like sothing had changed. Like I had lit a fire in him.

"An obsession redirected," I whispered under my breath, closing my eyes. "What have I done?"

Why did I have to bring it up like that?

For Min-Cheol, who was already obsessed, just how much deeper could his obsession run?

The thought made my chest tighten, but at the sa ti, there was an odd warmth lingering where his lips had brushed my head. I shook it off quickly, subrging myself deeper, as if the water could wash away the feeling, and this worried May and April.

"It’s dangerous," May said, looking a bit alard, but it wasn’t like I was planning to drown myself, so I laughed a bit.

"Lighten up a little, will you?" I kept laughing, but they didn’t take it as lightly as I did.

Anyway... The water was nice.

I got out of the bathroom after my hair had been thoroughly dried, and I had my bathrobe caressing my skin. Like... literally.

I could feel that soft cotton grazing softly against my nipples that felt so much more sensitive today thanks to Seo-Jun’s ’care’.

It made my body tingle a bit.

"Are you alright?" April asked, noticing how my body tensed up out of nowhere.

"Well, yes. Mostly," I answered, smiling awkwardly. "It’s fine."

They decided to just leave it be since it didn’t look like I was hurting anywhere and took out my nightwear.

Bathing and getting into changed comfortable clothes feels really nice.

I just want to close my eyes and sleep, but not yet. Let’s settle Jin-Yeok’s matter first.

"Alright, great work," I said to the maids as they trooped out of my room. "And good night."

After they left, I counted my fingers for a bit and then stood up, ready to head for Jin-Yeok’s room.

Usually, he would co to my room, but I decided to go to his today.

When I reached Jin-Yeok’s room, I knocked on the door twice.

There was silence for a mont before a deep voice answered, calm yet edged with warning.

"Co in."

I pushed the door open, and the light from the corridor seeped into his dark room.

His room, so darkly portrayed, felt like a vampire’s hideout. Where did that thought even co from?

Jin-Yeok was seated at his desk, his lamplight being the only source of light up until now.

I don’t know. It just felt so random, haha.

He was like Dracula but with green eyes, haha. Always out for blood, even though he wasn’t drinking it. Just spilling like a madman.

I could tell from the eyes I saw earlier that he had gone around killing more than he should. What happened to our promise?

Jin-Yeok’s eyes quickly lifted from the papers he was writing on, and though his expression remained calm, I felt the weight of his gaze pin in place.

As if it took him a mont to realize who it was even after seeing my face, he stared and then blinked.

"You’re finally here, Jo-Pil," he said, his eyes and countenance gradually lighting up and replacing the dark ambiance on his face. "I missed you."

Well, you always do.

The chair scraped back as Jin-Yeok rose, his composure lting into sothing warr the mont he got closer.

"You’re early," he said, his lips curving. But I wasn’t though. I even worried that I took his ti while having my bath. "I was just about to co find you once I was done with that paper."

I looked at his desk. It looked like he had been working. For soone who didn’t plan to go to the office the next day, he sure was working hard.

Before I could respond, he pulled into his arms in a firm and almost crushing embrace, as if he feared I might vanish the mont he let go.

I stiffened for a second, then relaxed when I caught the mixture of scents clinging to him. His harsh pheromones mixed with ink and sheets of paper made him seem so classical.

"Jo-Pil," he murmured against my hair. "This scent of yours... it drives mad." He sniffed in hard, and I wondered if he was just taking in the shampoo because my emotions weren’t unstable for to release pheromones. I don’t even know how it works, so forget it. "Your pheromones sll so good, Jo-Pil. I want more of it."

I could feel his nails dig into the fabric of my sleeve, though not so much that he could actually leave a bruise on .

I exhaled, awkwardly patting his back.

"You sound like a wolf sniffing out prey," I said, and he chuckled.

"Perhaps I am." He finally released just enough to look into my eyes, and for a mont, it looked like he wanted sothing more than just my scent.

His eyes lingered towards my lips and then down to my neck, watching the little movent of my Adam’s apple as I gulped once again.

Like I said, Dracula. He wanted to bite .

But even as he stared, he did not make a move. Instead, his fingers curled up around more.

"Jo-Pil," he called with a voice no higher than a whisper and then brushed his lips against my ear. "Your scent drives mad."

As he just said. My body lightly trembled, his voice running a number on and making my head spin.

Was he doing this on purpose, having realized his voice had an effect on ?

I shut my eyes. They were still as charming and sensual as ever.

If I let him do whatever he wanted, he would get hard just by whispering a few gibberish words in my ear.

Anyway, let’s just be done with this. I could feel the exhaustion that had lted in the bath rising again.

I shook out of his grip and walked towards his bed with his eyes following my every movent. And then, I sat down on the edge of his bed, folding my arms.

"So... how many was it?" I asked, and his brow arched.

"How many what?"

Yes, pretty vague, but I was passing a ssage here.

"You know what." I tilted my head. "It’s been three weeks since we last talked like this, master." My eyes lingered on him.

Surely, he’d understand if I said it like this, but he pretended to be oblivious and simply watched .

This sly master of mine.

I sighed and decided to ask upfront.

"How many people have you killed since then?"
