My luck was shit, I know.

What did I do in my last life to deserve this?

’I should go wait for the next class sowhere.’ I thought and turned around, only to et the gaze of the strict French teacher with two strands of curly air serving as his mustache and eagle-type glasses.

"Where are you going?" He asked, his French accent speaking for itself. "Why are you not in your seat?"

Looked like it was too late to run from this one.

Just... How do I get out of this?

Will there be anyone to trade seats with ?

I turned to the class but none of them seed to care. I wasn’t their business anyway.

It already spelled a lot, seeing how Min-Cheol’s paired seat was farther away from every other seat.

It was as if he was saying, ’I don’t want you low lives too close to . So don’t cross the distance.’

I pursed my lips.

I don’t want to get bad records with the teachers but I don’t want to get involved with Min-Cheol either. What do I do?

"You’re delaying the class." Min-Cheol suddenly spoke up, causing everyone to turn to him in shock. "If you’re not going to take a seat then see yourself out."

Ah, so now I was the one causing trouble.

The only thing I can do now is swallow my pride, if I even have one, and chest whatever cos.

I bowed at the teacher and turned around, heading for the back seat and everyone’s eyes were on .

Min-Cheol did not ask to take a seat next to him but since he blatantly said I needed to take a seat for the lesson to comnce, he wouldn’t mind if I took a seat next to him, right?

I placed my bag on the desk and then sat down, everyone staring at like I had just done the impossible but Min-Cheol didn’t seem to mind much.

Not that I know. I was too nervous to look at his expression, but because he did not say anything, I imagined he was fine with it, but he did stare.

I felt his inquisitive eyes on , asking questions I could not figure out and didn’t try to figure out because I would rather focus on the lesson than on him.

"Ahem," the French teacher cleared his throat. "Now that everyone’s seated, shall we begin?"

While the start of the class had a rather fiery start, the rest of it cald down and it felt like every other lesson, sitting next to your average student.

But I was holding my breath most of the ti because, for so reason, Min-Cheol would not look away from .

’Gosh, I’m not the teacher. The teacher is right in front of us. Please, stop staring.’ I thought, my hands slightly trembling in frustration.

No matter how much I tried to ignore it, I just couldn’t. He wasn’t even trying to hide the fact that he was staring at .

What about was he so intrigued by that he couldn’t take his eyes off?

)

Was it the hair covering my face? Was it my glasses? Or was it how I twisted my lips from ti to ti trying to figure out intensively what most of the French words written on the board ant.

I was bad at French, and I just so happened to enroll in the middle of the sester, so I could only expect a failing grade.

’I’ll probably burn the midnight oil for this.’ I thought, pressing the butt of my pen on my lips as I circled the words that I found hard to rember in passing once, and the ones that I couldn’t pronounce, I circled them twice.

That way, if I looked back at my notes, I would rember what I needed to pay attention to.

’Should I circle this one too?’ I thought but then felt a pen poking my cheek.

I turned my head and found Min-Cheol staring inquisitively at with those pretty blue eyes of his.

He did not stop poking even when I turned to him. Was he testing my patience or what?

I should just ignore him.

I looked away. It was already hard for to follow the lesson, getting distracted like this was not an option but it looked like Min-Cheol was determined to serve as an agent of distraction as he dropped the pen and started using his index finger to poke next.

Just what was he after?

"How can you see?" He asked.

Ah, yes. The question anyone who saw a guy with his hair covering his face would ask.

"With my eyes." I simply answered, not turning my head towards him. But he was not satisfied with that answer, honestly.

"But how do you use your eyes when they’re covered by your glasses?"

Ah, I’d also like to know.

Anyway, I see with the little gaps made thanks to my glasses. Though, it’s a little difficult.

"Won’t you answer ?" He asked, and his genuine curiosity reminded of Ki-hoon, who wanted to know what my belly could grumble so loudly.

Seriously, were all Alphas like this?

Did I look like a showpiece to them or sothing?

"If you don’t answer , I’ll keep bothering you." He said and I pursed my lips.

"It’s because I’m trying to understand what the teacher is saying." I said. "I’m not good at French."

Okay, I didn’t know why I said that to him but I felt maybe it would make him leave alone for a while to at least listen to what the teacher was saying.

Because of his status, he didn’t even need to worry about interrupting the class and getting repercussions because no one would hold him for it.

I was more worried that the teacher would bla for the noise since I wasn’t tending to this young master’s curiosity, welp.

And for a few minutes, Min-Cheol did not actually ask anything. He simply stared at and I thought my words must’ve given him reason to leave for the ti being.

But Alphas couldn’t be trusted, I tell you. Their brain process in a completely different way from the norm.

"Then do you want to teach you French?" He asked, and it just so happened to be at the point where the teacher had stopped talking.

His voice was loud enough for everyone to hear and this gave them a shock.

Just how... Why?

They were all staring like they had seen a ghost, and so was I.

This guy... Was he ssing with ?

He wanted to tutor ? On what grounds?

We were just eting for the first ti today, and not just that, he was one of the four Alphas. Why in the world would he stoop so low to tutor soone in sothing like French?

"You don’t believe ?" He asked and then snatched my book, pointing at the words I circled. "This word is bus, this is business, this is travel, this is..."

It was as if he knew about all the words I was confused about and why I circled them and was calling out the word.

This guy... Hadn’t he been staring at the whole ti the teacher was teaching?

It was as if no matter how much he looked at , and how much it looked like he wasn’t paying attention to the teacher, he was following the teaching very well.

You could say he was a French genius.

"I told you I know French very well. So, why don’t you let be your tutor?" He asked, smiling cheerfully, but why did this cheerfulness feel like a lie to ?

I felt like I was falling into a trap.

"And don’t worry, I won’t charge you for it." He said.

This was impossible.

"No, it’s fine." I said.

"You’re refusing?" He asked, his tone suddenly sounding cold.

It was as if I had said a taboo word or sothing.

Even the entire class was looking at like I had done sothing completely wrong.

Ah, right. The rule. Do not disobey.

But it wasn’t a command, was it? He suggested and I disagreed. Soone tell I didn’t suddenly get a red card or sothing.

That’s how it went in the movies, wasn’t it?

"Are you not scared?" Min-Cheol suddenly asked and for a mont, I wanted to swipe the hair out of my face and look at him closely.

Just what was going on in this ’child’s mind?

"Should I be?" I asked in whispers. The rest of the class could very much exaggerate my words.

"Hm, I wonder," he said and then leaned closer, as if trying to see through my facade. "But I think I know how to get through this. You won’t say you need help because of my identity, right? But I want to help you." He smiled and then turned to the teacher. "Professeur, je veux donner des cours particuliers à cet élève à côté de moi."

He spoke in perfect French and while I did understand the first word, I did not know what he said.

"Um," the Teacher looked at a little nervously and then forced a smile. "Je ne vois pas pourquoi pas. Fais com tu veux."

"rci." Min-Cheol looked at with a wide smile and said, "I got permission from the teacher, so I’ll tutor you from now on."

Wait, isn’t my approval more important than the teachers? I’m the one getting tutored here, aren’t I?

(Min-Cheol: Teacher, I want to tutor this student. Can I do that?

Teacher: I don’t see why not. Do as you wish.

Min-Cheol: thank u)
