I glanced around my dimly lit room with drawn curtains but I could still see the sharp rays of light seeping through the corners of the curtain.
The temperature in the room was warm, and I was under a blanket, so I definitely wouldn't catch a cold from spending all night at the library.
"Hah!" I sighed while brushing my fingers through my hair.
So much for shutting my eyes for a few minutes. It was almost noon and I yawned. I looked like I would need to sleep so more.
I was trying to gain weight, after all. But with an unfinished book next to , how was I supposed to sleep?
I flipped the page of the book that had been left on my lamp stand, planning to continue from where I stopped when a light mory slowly ca to .
I think it was about the person who carried . Their touch was warm and their caress on my cheek was gentle. They gazed at with a hint of regret lingering in the air as they lifted from my chair and into their arms.
They carried gently as though I had been a sleeping princess bewitched by a fairy into a never-waking sleep.
It was so warm and gentle that I couldn't bring myself to open my eyes and simply sunk into their embrace, falling deeper into slumber.
Maybe it was because I was bewitched by sleep, but I should know better than to leave my back bare in this place filled with animals who want to rip apart.
And yet... I felt no sense of danger in the arms of this person. In fact, I felt at ease. Comforted more than ever and warm.
Whoever carried didn't see as an enemy or soone to be wary of.
Maybe it was just at the mont when I looked defenseless and unable to break out of sleep. Maybe that was why they held so gently and passionately.
Gosh, I feel like I'm writing a novel here. Well, I am the narrator so, ahem.
So, who was it that carried ? Let's think.
It couldn't have been Min-Cheol because, from my experience, he would rather stare at while I slept till he was able to bore holes in my head with his gaze. Creep.
It probably wasn't the owner of the library either. I bet if they had seen a stranger hugging their precious book in their precious library, they wouldn't be so gentle as to carry them to their room and even take the book along.
But since I didn't know who the initial owner of the library was, I couldn't tell.
Then, was it Ki-hoon?
Thinking back to how he might've carried from the car to my bed even when I was still filthy made it a possibility. But I hadn't confird if he had carried with his own hands or if he ordered the guards to do so.
That probably doesn't explain the coat he left with.
I raised my gaze and saw the coat hung on a hanger at the corner of the room as though it were a trophy of so kind. I should probably find ti to return it.
He wouldn't get mad if I ca in person to return his possession, would he? It's a sign of sincere appreciation after all.
But I can't understand these guys. Their minds don't work the way a proper human mind works.
'Ugh, should I just leave it there? I just can't deal with him.' I scratched my head and squinted my eyes in contemplation. 'Yeah, I'll lie that I forgot to return it.'
I might just be overthinking things, honestly. The maids might've been the ones to carry to my room and were kind enough to bring my book along.
They were treating as one of their masters as well, so I would understand the special and careful treatnt.
'I don't exactly weigh a ton for them not to be able to carry like a princess, pft. I'm as light as a paper as it is.' I thought, smiling to myself when suddenly, the lights of the room ca on, and I looked up in surprise. Who turned on the lights?
"What is this?" I heard a grumpy voice in the direction of the door, and I sighed inwardly.
Why couldn't I get a mont of rest without soone raining on my parade?
'I guess I was lucky enough to be left alone yesterday,' I thought and glanced at the door where Ki-hoon stood with his expression twisted in disdain. 'What? Is he unsatisfied by the result he got?' I wondered. "Master?"
"Why are you in bed at this hour? Are you sick?" He asked as he began to walk towards .
What gave him that idea?
Well, maybe the way I wrapped myself in my blanket despite the room being warm made him misunderstand.
"No, I'm not sick." I said, hurrying to get to my feet, but the sheets caught my leg, and my face was headed for the floor.
I used my arm to block it but it definitely hurt when I hit the ground.
That jerk, couldn't he just lend a hand?
He watched fall and didn't flinch. It made wonder if my plan to make him regret his years of hating Jo-Pil backfired.
Hm, we were still at the early stage of the novel so maybe I gave him the tip top early. At the ti Ki-hoon found out Jo-Pil had lost his mory when trying to get to him with his father, it had past the second half of the novel and he was already at odds with his cousin.
Hm, did he trust his cousin right now?
If that was the case, if have to smoothen things out sohow. But first, let's hear what he has to say.
"Ngh," I grunted softly and then went on my knees, kneeling with my butt rested on my heels and looking up at Ki-hoon, who was glaring down at as though he was going to murder .
Please, don't. I still have a lot to live for.
"Master, is sothing wrong?" I asked him, but his gaze was fixed on my chin, which was bruised thanks to my clumsiness, but I pretended not to notice and continued. "I'm not sick, I swear. And I..." I slowly lowered my gaze. "I had no idea you were here so I was just reading and... I'm sorry. I should've co out to greet you."
Ki-hoon's gaze twisted a bit. I don't know if it was because he wasn't comfortable at the sight of apologizing on my knees or if he thought my words were insincere but I had no thoughts of standing up yet.
My legs were cramped. Welp.
"Hwang Jo-Pil," Ki-hoon asked and I lifted my gaze to stare softly at him.
"Yes, master?"
"Two years ago... is it true you killed an Alpha two years ago?" I flinched.
Ah, shit! I forgot there was a plot like that.
