Li Rengui held Li Shuning tightly and was about to take her to the village healer.

But Zhao Jing suddenly stopped Li Rengui: "Uncle, I really didn’t push Shuning. Shuning herself slipped, and when I tried to pull her, I even hurt myself. Look at my leg; how could I have pushed Shuning?"

The kids who brought Li Shuning back all chid in, criticizing Zhao Jing.

Li Rengui’s tone was icy: "Zhao Jing, why are you stopping now? I need to take Daya to see Uncle Tian. Stopping , do you want Daya to not wake up?"

Zhao Jing did have that thought; if Li Shuning did not wake up, even if others saw it, she could still argue it was the others playing recklessly that led to Shuning’s slip, and they’re afraid to take responsibility, so they bla her.

However, after Li Rengui said that, she didn’t dare stop him any longer.

A group of people rushed to Li Tian’s residence at the edge of the village.

The kids all loved playing with Li Shuning. She was pretty and did well in school; she spoke gently, and everyone liked her. Seeing her pale face drenched in sweat, unconscious, they were all scared and followed along.

The group was quite noticeable, and along the way, people asked so questions, and soon, the news that Zhao Jing pushed Li Shuning and injured her spread.

Zhao Jing followed, filled with anger but helpless. Though she wanted to explain, everyone was in a hurry, and she couldn’t stop to explain.

When they reached the edge of the village, Li Tian was sun-drying herbs in the courtyard and was startled by the group coming in.

"Uncle Tian, please help look at Daya; her lower back was hit, and she’s unconscious."

Li Tian looked around his fifties, skilled in dicine, highly respected in the village.

His dical skills were excellent. If villagers had any headaches or illnesses, they would co to Li Tian.

Li Tian let everyone into the house where there was a small bed and laid Li Shuning onto it, having her lie face down.

First, he took her pulse, then lifted her clothes to reveal a large bruise, even making Li Tian frown a bit.

"Rengui, the girl passed out from the sudden pain. This bruise is serious, but fortunately, no bones are broken, just an external injury. I’ll make so dicinal oil to rub it in. Lucky she was wearing thick clothes, or else..."

Li Tian went into the inner room, took out a jar of dicinal oil he mixed himself, scooped so out, and rubbed it into his hands until the warmth lted it a bit before applying it to Li Shuning’s lower back, starting to rub it in forcefully.

The rubbing was painful, and Li Shuning cried out in pain.

Seeing Li Shuning wake up, Li Rengui let out a sigh of relief.

"Daya, endure it, Uncle Tian’s rubbing will stop the pain."

Li Shuning knew Zhao Jing’s intention and intentionally approached. The injury to her back looked severe, but before the impact, her spiritual power solidified, mitigating the force to make it seem realistic. She purposely pressed her spiritual power against her own waist.

Besides, when Zhao Jing crashed into her, her front had also solidified spiritual power, protecting her from Zhao Jing’s impact.

Once she confird she was safe and when Li ng and the others approached, she pretended to faint.

She could handle such an injury herself; after all, she was a cultivator.

Though the rubbing was painful, once it was done, Li Shuning found that the blood vessels in her lower back were now unobstructed. This Uncle really had skills.

Seeing Li Shuning able to stand up, though she still needed to take care of her lower back, she could walk. Li Rengui and Li Chunhua were very happy, thanked Li Tian, paid for the treatnt, and then took Li Shuning back.

Along the way, nobody spoke, but the atmosphere was heavy, making Zhao Jing uneasy.

She hadn’t expected that such a heavy fall left Li Shuning unscathed. Logically, her head and back should have hit the stones, how co she didn’t die?

When they got ho, Li Rengui asked nothing, only grabbed so candies and dried fruits, gave them to the kids telling them to go ho, so their families wouldn’t worry.

Once everyone left, Li Rengui closed the courtyard door, then looked at Li Shuning and Zhao Jing.

"Daya, what happened?"

Li Shuning lowered her head, glancing at Zhao Jing, seeming both incredulous and a bit hurt: "Dad, cousin Jing rushed at . I backed away, but she gripped tightly, and I saw the stones behind, afraid to hit them."

Zhao Jing pretended to be anxious: "Daya, no, I couldn’t control myself then. When I saw you, I instinctively pulled you, trying to stabilize myself, not expecting to drag you down too. I’m sorry; I didn’t dare speak earlier, seeing your condition, fearing uncle and auntie would be mad. I really didn’t do it on purpose."

Li Rengui, having traveled widely, had his own way of reading people. Plus, what Li ng said matched what Li Shuning said. Li Shuning was unconscious, so she couldn’t have pre-colluded with Li ng. Clearly, Zhao Jing was full of lies.

He used to think this child was pitiful and brought her in, but never expected to bring a wolf into his house, harming Daya. If sothing had happened to Daya, would Zhao Jing then be the only girl in the family? Did she think life would be better then? Indeed, parents are corrupt, raising such a person. He overestimated people’s decency, and so just weren’t content.

Li Chunhua, soft-hearted, hugged Zhao Jing, comforting her: "It’s okay now, Jing’er. See, Daya is fine,it’s just an accident, but don’t lie next ti. Lying isn’t what good kids do."

Zhao Jing was secretly glad; she knew it: "Yes, Auntie, I won’t do it again. I won’t play outside anymore; I’ll stay ho."

Her words once more stirred Li Chunhua’s sympathy.

Li Rengui watched coldly, a bit speechless at his wife. His own child was hurt, and instead of comforting her, she comforts Zhao Jing, the ungrateful one.

Fortunately, today his parents were out, not at ho, or else...

In the evening, when Li Haoge and the others returned, they still learned about the incident.

Li Chunhua played peacemaker: "Jing’er knows her mistake. It was unavoidable playing together, and Daya is fine. Just tell them to be careful when playing next ti."
