Li Li was shocked and grabbed a young attendant’s sleeve to inquire.

The young attendant shook off her hand with disgust, reluctant to bother with her, but couldn’t help taunting, "What else could it be? Isn’t it another one of your lover’s good deeds? Not only did he cause Sister Lian’s death, but now everyone’s been left without a place to stay. You wretched woman, since you set foot in our Liangli Garden, nothing good has happened. You’re a curse!"

Several other young attendants also joined in the ridicule, calling her a curse repeatedly, leaving Li Li speechless in retort.

But those were not the most critical issues. Her most urgent concern now was her belongings!

Liangli Garden was suddenly sealed, and all her belongings were left inside, uncollected!

"Where are my things! My things are still in there, let go in and get them!"

Li Li pleaded with the two governnt officials guarding the entrance of Liangli Garden, but once a place was sealed, no outsiders were allowed to enter without permission.

Without a doubt, Li Li was coldly turned away by the two officials, unmoved by her tears and pleas.

Li Li cried for a while, then suddenly rembered sothing and turned to ask the young attendants, "What about my maid? Wasn’t she left in the garden? How co I haven’t seen her? Where did she go?"

Her maid, the one who spoke with a babyish voice.

She was supposed to bring the young maid along to Chanyin Pavilion today, but at the last mont, the little maid suddenly had a severe stomach ache, so she had to stay in the garden to rest.

Now that Liangli Garden was sealed, she should have helped her pack up her belongings, right?

"Her?"

One attendant sneered, "Who knows! As soon as you left, she took her bundle and snuck away. I heard she’s beco a concubine to so young master in the capital city."

Concubine?

When did that unassuming little girl latch onto a young master from the capital city?

These are all excuses, excuses!

If Li Li couldn’t figure out what happened by now, she would truly be foolish. That little maid deliberately found an excuse to ditch her and made off with all her belongings!

Bastard! Ungrateful little wench!

Li Li slumped entirely, too tired to even speak her curses. Her belongings, her lifeline for the rest of her life!

Now all gone, what was she to do, her future truly in ruins!

What did she ever do wrong to be treated like this?

From a distance, in a carriage, Lin Yuan lifted the curtain slightly and coldly observed everything, her lips curved slightly.

"Yin Xing, go ahead!"

Yin Xing lifted the small bundle in her hand, nodded, and headed towards the collapsed Li Li.

That small bundle was snatched back from that little maid, containing all of Li Li’s belongings.

Xia Zheng felt no sympathy for Li Li, didn’t even bother to look at her, casually let the curtain drop, and snorted with disdain, "That woman is ungrateful, why treat her so well!"

Lin Yuan was speechless; was she treating her well?

Though Li Li had indeed betrayed the Chanyin Pavilion before, even threatening her openly and secretly. But, in the end, it wasn’t all that despicable.

As the saying goes, "People die for wealth, birds for food," if Lin Yuan were in Li Li’s place, she might have done the sa.

"She never really did anything evil, a little punishnt is enough, no need to go to extres."

Lin Yuan gently caressed her belly, her smile softer, "Besides, as I get closer to childbirth, I should set a good example for the child!"

She was nearly seven months pregnant, expecting twins, and it had been tough on her. All her thoughts were centered on her unborn children, lessening her previous resentnt towards Li Li.

Seeing Lin Yuan endure the hardships of pregnancy daily, Xia Zheng also felt a shared sympathy, his heart softening, and he was gentler when touching Lin Yuan’s belly.

"Miss, she wanted to co and bow to you, but rembering your words, I didn’t let her. However, she still insisted on coming to bow her head to you."

Yin Xing returned, reporting through the curtain.

Lin Yuan’s lips moved slightly, saying nothing, nor did she open the curtain to look at the distant woman kneeling and weeping while bowing to her.
