Capítulo 1894: 100. How is it going_4

Compared to the front yard, the backyard is noticeably much cleaner, without so many scattered stone tables and benches. Clearly, those debt collectors haven’t made their way to the backyard yet.

Before reaching Madam Ming’s courtyard, Lin Yuan and the others first encountered a little boy about six or seven years old.

Lin Yuan had heard from Xiao Huan that Madam Ming had a six-year-old son nad Xiao Fei, who was born two years after Madam Ming got married, so she treasured him greatly.

The adorable, tiger-headed little boy in front of them was precisely Madam Ming’s only son, Zhong Xiaofei. He was being taken by the maid and nurse to see his mother in her courtyard.

Upon seeing Lin Yuan, the little boy widened his eyes warily and said in a soft milky voice, “Who are you? Are you here to ask my mother for silver? Let tell you, my mom doesn’t have any silver. All those debts were accumulated by my dad. Go ask my dad for it! Don’t co here to pressure my mom!”

Lin Yuan, who originally intended to tease the little guy, was suddenly taken aback. This little boy was about the sa age as Xiao Linshuang, but the sense of responsibility he exuded was akin to that of a grown man.

Zhong Shi glanced furtively at Lin Yuan’s face, anxious like an ant on a hot skillet. Although what the little master said was true, he shouldn’t offend the Consort Guiren!

If this young lady gets upset and runs to the Prefecture of Jingzhao to submit a letter or sothing, the Zhong family would truly be done for.

“Young master, you mustn’t speak recklessly!”

Zhong Shi glared at the maid and nurse behind Zhong Xiaofei, rebuking them sharply, “What kind of nonsense have you been feeding the young master daily! Hurry up and take the young master back to his room! It seems you all are itching for punishnt, spouting nonsense all day long!”

The maid and nurse exchanged glances, although they responded verbally, their expressions were hardly convinced.

Did they even need to teach the young master these words? Who in the mansion doesn’t know? They’re just putting on an act in front of these creditors.

After taking Zhong Xiaofei away, the maid and nurse secretly shot a glare at Lin Yuan who ca for the debt.

Yin Xing was a bit annoyed; they were here to help Madam Ming, why were they being glared at!

Lin Yuan found it both amusing and sad, signaling Yin Xing to calm down.

It seems even the servants are defending Madam Ming; evidently, Madam Ming runs the household well.

But managing the household involves many hardships; she truly is pitiful.

After sending Zhong Xiaofei away, Zhong Shi turned to Lin Yuan again, saying all sorts of flattering words, making Lin Yuan frown.

Fortunately, they arrived at Madam Ming’s courtyard shortly after.

Compared to the courtyard where Zhong Yingming resides, Madam Ming’s courtyard could simply be described as modest.

There are no expensive and rare flowers and plants in the courtyard, instead, it’s neatly planted with patches of vegetables. But it’s still not quite warm, so the seedlings in the vegetable patch are not abundant.

How is it that the head of a prestigious family is growing vegetables in her courtyard? Anyone unaware might think this is a rural farmhouse!

If there is one place in the courtyard that doesn’t seem rural, it must be the stone table in the center. However, that stone table is covered in dust, showing it hasn’t been used in a long ti.

Even the stone fish tank on the table isn’t ho to beautiful koi fish, instead, it’s planted with so green garlic.

Lin Yuan couldn’t help but sigh, and Yin Xing’s eyes began to glisten with tears.

Zhong Yingming seeks pleasure in the front yard, ignoring all matters, while Madam Ming drags her frail body tiringly managing everything — what kind of family is this!

As soon as Zhong Shi entered the courtyard, he grabbed a little maid to inquire about Madam Ming’s condition.

The maid seed a bit scared of Zhong Shi and responded honestly, “Madam has been very weak since her miscarriage. The doctor ca today and prescribed so new dicine. Sister Xiao Huan just helped Madam with her dicine. She is sleeping now.”

Miscarriage?

Lin Yuan was stunned, shocked by those two words.

Madam Ming was not just ill but miscarried?

No, when did she beco pregnant? Why didn’t she ntion it? Why didn’t Xiao Huan tell her either?

“Madam Ming miscarried? What happened? How is she now? Where is Xiao Huan, let Xiao Huan co see !”

Lin Yuan pushed Zhong Shi aside, who was blocking her way, and hurriedly asked the maid.

The maid didn’t know Lin Yuan’s identity but seeing Butler Zhong being pushed aside without any displeasure, she guessed this person was no ordinary individual.

She quickly replied, “Sister Xiao Huan is in the room taking care of Madam. Miss, please don’t worry, my mistress’s health is just sowhat weak, and there are no serious injuries.”

Won miscarrying is no minor issue, if minor it harms the body, if severe she may never pregnant again, even leaving lifelong illness!

Lin Yuan didn’t believe this little maid truly understood the gravity, so upon hearing Xiao Huan was inside the room, she directly pushed the door open and went in.

The maid was caught off guard as the lady barged in unceremoniously and was about to stop her but was reprimanded by Butler Zhong behind her.

Zhong Shi’s job was to bring Lin Yuan to Madam Ming. Now that he brought her there, his task was complete.

As for whether Madam Ming can get this great statue to leave, it’s not sothing he as a servant should worry about.

Perhaps one should say, even the master doesn’t care, why should he as an outsider ddle?

Lin Yuan quickly walked into the room, imdiately slling the dense herbal aroma and faint sll of blood.

The herbal scent was from the dicine Madam Ming took, the blood scent should be remnants left by the miscarriage.

“Who?”

Xiao Huan heard the door open and angrily ca out from the inner room, only to see Lin Yuan, and imdiately froze.

Lin Yuan hurriedly walked over and softly asked, “How… is Madam Ming?”

After a brief mont of being stunned, Xiao Huan imdiately reacted, her eyes reddened, bursting into tears, “Madam, she was beaten by the master and… and miscarried.”

Lin Yuan’s eyes widened in shock, Madam Ming’s miscarriage was caused by Zhong Yingming’s beating?!
