Lin Yuan almost laughed herself silly when she looked closely.

Wasn’t the stick Cheng Haoxuan was holding the sa one she used to stir the water a mont ago?

Except now one end of the stick had been sharpened, just right for spearing fish.

What was funnier wasn’t just the stick, but Cheng Haoxuan’s attire.

Clearly a suave young master, he was barefoot, with rolled-up pants, and his robe was pulled up and casually tied into a knot at his waist, which happened to sit awkwardly off to the side, making it look like he had a small basket tied to him—utterly ridiculous.

Cheng Haoxuan himself didn’t seem to mind his getup in the slightest; he was excitedly waving the stick around and shouting at everyone, while his handso face glistened—it was hard to tell if it was sweat from all the fun he just had or the water Lin Yuan had splashed on him.

Tian Xuan was also eagerly standing by Cheng Haoxuan, holding a small bamboo basket that seed to have co out of nowhere.

There weren’t any houses nearby at Yi Qing Mountain, so it seed like they had brought the basket along when they left.

"Oh, so you guys were prepared!"

Lin Yuan teased with a laugh, then turned to the Xia brothers who were still bickering: "Everyone else is catching fish, and if you keep going on and on, there won’t be anything to eat later!"

Not having anything to eat would be a problem.

Xia Zheng imdiately shut his mouth; he had already slled the aroma coming from the food box on the way here, and his wife’s delicacies couldn’t be eaten by outsiders!

Xia Zheng couldn’t help but glare at Cheng Haoxuan; this guy was his biggest rival for good food today.

"Catching fish is child’s play; only this guy would do that! Let’s go and hunt so ga in the mountains!"

With that, Xia Zheng stepped forward and headed toward the mountain path.

This idea was a hit; it imdiately won the enthusiastic approval of Wei Boyu and Xia Zhen, and the three of them seed to have forgotten their earlier dispute, rolling up their sleeves and heading up the mountain.

Their figures soon faded in the not-so-dense forest, but their spirited voices could still be heard faintly, as if they were competing over who would catch more ga and discussing the penalties for losing.

Lin Yuan couldn’t catch the rest of their chatter, as Cheng Haoxuan, feeling insulted by the stick comnt, loudly protested.

"Child’s play? Don’t you know catching fish is harder than hunting ga? You look down on ? Well, then I’ll make sure I’m out of your league! Xuanxuan, let’s go, my wife, let’s catch so fish!"

Tian Xuan blushed, responding crisply, and her step with the bamboo basket beca even more sprightly.

Wei Borong, who had beco rounder in the past month, stood next to Xu Muqing, making Xu Muqing appear rather "slim" by comparison.

The two little chubsters exchanged glances and smiled, eventually finding a comfortable spot to sit, leisurely enjoying the scenery while waiting for the feast.

Occasionally, their laughter could be heard.

"I think big brother’s ga will taste better, but Young Master Cheng’s fish, well, tsk tsk."

"Eh? I think Young Master Cheng’s fish will be better, Qinger, did you forget who his master is?"

"Ah, yes, it’s Lu Chong, Mr. Lu! But, I think Young Master Cheng seems a bit foolish and might not have learned all of Mr. Lu’s skills! Look, his stick has jabbed into the water six tis without even nicking a tail! No wait, it’s seven now!"

"Oh, it’s truly unbearable to watch! Let’s turn and watch the mountains instead; I bet big brother and the others have caught plenty of good things by now!"

With that, the two plump bodies hilariously turned with great effort to the other side.

Poof!

Several bursts of laughter broke out, and Lin Yuan and the others were at a loss for words with this codic duo, unsure if Cheng Haoxuan would stay soaked in the water out of frustration after hearing their remarks.

Cheng Haoxuan and Tian Xuan were busy catching fish, while the other four n were hunting ga in the mountains. Although there wasn’t much danger at the foot of Yi Qing Mountain, Lin Yi and the guards from several families dutifully protected the won left by the lakeside.

Yin Xing and a few maids were busy setting up tables and racks, with a tablecloth borrowed from Dong Tian by Lin Yuan. To match the outing’s vibe, she had specifically chosen a light green one decorated with beige flowers, making it look fresh and delightful when spread out.
