Bam!

As a firecracker symbolizing the start exploded into a strange blossom in the sky, the fireworks display in the Capital city began.

The Capital city truly lived up to its reputation, with one firework after another, first bursting into clusters of vibrant, colorful flowers flaring into the sky.

Soon, a few bizarre-shaped fireworks soared across the skyline, their scattered petals flickering with diverse shapes and light points.

Luckily, the night sky was devoid of stars tonight; otherwise, they would surely feel overshadowed by such beautiful fireworks.

Sitting at the highest point in the Capital city to watch the fireworks, Liu Limin found herself dazzled by the scene, yet those twinkling sparks seed to possess an enchanting allure, making it impossible for her to look away.

Such proximity, such grand fireworks, made Liu Limin montarily entranced, nearly believing they were not ascending into the sky but rather existing right before her eyes.

Xia Hen had been away from the Capital city for many years and hadn’t seen the fireworks display for a long ti. Even when he lived there before, he rarely saw it.

After all, his health condition previously didn’t allow him to watch such beautiful fireworks in the cold winter.

But seeing today’s fireworks, Xia Hen’s heart was inexplicably calm, and his enchanting eyes did not glance at the fireworks even for a mont. All his attention was on the woman beside him nad Liu Limin.

Having lived for nearly forty years, twenty of which were spent in illness, and the remaining dozen years in endless wandering escapades.

Initially thinking such free-spiritedness was his lifeti pursuit, yet unexpectedly, he found himself wanting to pause for soone.

Moreover, this sentint was so intense, he could hardly wait.

Xia Hen’s lips involuntarily curved up, his gaze locked onto her half-open, petal-shaped lips from her radiant and charming cheek.

Leaning slightly forward, Xia Hen felt his breathing suddenly quickening, his heartbeat accelerating by several beats.

Closer, closer, those lips red as cherries, as his nose seed to catch the faint maiden scent from Liu Limin mingled with an intoxicatingly subtle hint of wine.

Xia Hen puckered his lips and his hand unconsciously climbed onto Liu Limin’s shoulder.

Suddenly, exerting force, he turned her head towards him, and his lips pressed onto hers...

Smack!

A crisp slap rang out; Xia Hen startledly cradled his cheek marked with a fiery red palm print, looking astonished and hurt at the woman before him, unable to utter a single word.

anwhile, the woman across from him was equally surprised, raising her slightly stiff hand, unable to put it down or retract it.

Her slightly parted and seductively inviting petal-shaped lips, now flushed deeper with embarrassnt.

"I...I thought...it was so pervert..."

Stuttering out an explanation, further rembering the suddenly magnified handso face before her, Liu Limin’s stamring transford into awkwardness and shyness.

It was all the fault of the fireworks being too beautiful; her thoughts were entirely focused on them, forgetting there was actually a man beside her.

From her young age, she hadn’t had romantic desires, finally eting a man who moved her heart, yet she was oblivious due to the fireworks.

Inside, Liu Limin felt deeply helpless and regretful.

No wonder her mother often said she was a bit slow; indeed, she was a bit slow?

"I...I truly forgot...you, you were beside ..."

As she spoke, Liu Limin herself felt too embarrassed to continue, her voice like a mosquito’s buzz.

Xia Hen sniffled, pouting, sowhat resentfully watching Liu Limin with her head lowered and face flushed, taking a deep breath, accepting that the woman he chose, even if hit, he must endure it!

"Never mind, let’s watch the fireworks!"

Turning his head, Xia Hen reluctantly lowered his hand from his cheek and sorrowfully looked at the fireworks.

Just now, the romantic mont was extinguished by a cold splash of water, now leaving him truly with no thoughts of kissing Liu Limin.

Besides, he feared this fierce little girl might slap him again!

In his view, her words were all excuses; actually, she was still angry that he had left without saying goodbye.

Never mind, never mind, impatience leads to nothing good, better wait a bit longer!

"Um...well..."

In the midst of silently shedding tears, Xia Hen suddenly heard Liu Limin hesitantly speaking, seemingly having sothing to say, a thought flashed across his mind: could she be agreeing to be with him...
