Chapter 1732: 053, Important Grapevine News_4

Smack!

Although the sound of the slap wasn’t loud, it was more than enough to send the shaless man tumbling to the side.

Lin Yuan crossed her arms and flexed her fingers, smugly saying, “The paynt I’m reclaiming certainly won’t be the sa as what I handed out. If you ask , sewing that sexy yet adorable little mouth of yours shut with thread sounds like a great idea!”

She thought Xia Zheng would be angry, but to her surprise, the man chuckled cheekily. Tossing the nonexistent bangs on his forehead with a flamboyant flair, he replied with a hint of mischief, “Ah, so my darling wife prefers that kind of approach, huh? You’ve really broadened my horizons! But no worries—anything my wife desires, I’m always ready to deliver. Hmm, should I prepare a little whip as well? I’ve heard so people even use chili oil!”

Lin Yuan’s lips twitched. Xia Zheng was really pushing the limits with his shaless banter. Thankfully, the two of them were alone here; if anyone else overheard, she might as well kiss her dignity goodbye.

Fearing he might say sothing even more outrageous, Lin Yuan quickly cut him off, fixing her gaze on him with a serious expression. “Alright, alright, enough fooling around. Just tell what information you have.”

Just as Xia Zheng had been about to launch into another witty round of banter, Lin Yuan’s stern interruption halted him mid-sentence, leaving him with a slight lump in his throat.

Awkwardly rubbing his nose, he laughed sheepishly. “It’s all your fault, my dear wife. You keep steering my thoughts into improper territories, making almost forget what I ca here to say.”

Lin Yuan’s eyes widened. If not for the cooking competition she was rushing to, she might have taken up a knife and sliced this shaless man right in half just to see what he was really hiding in his brain.

With a weary wave of her hand, Lin Yuan gestured for Xia Zheng to speak quickly.

“Heh heh, the thing is, it’s just so secret stuff about the Emperor and Empress,” Xia Zheng said with a sly wink, leaning toward Lin Yuan to speak in a hushed tone.

“Let’s start with the Empress. Ever since the Eldest Prince and that guard got into trouble, she’s been consud with guilt and has since taken up vegetarianism and Buddhist prayers.”

So, for the Empress, the dishes should clearly be vegetarian.

Lin Yuan nodded, but before she could ask about the Emperor’s preferences, Xia Zheng’s next words completely startled her.

“Well, here’s the thing—her vegetarian lifestyle is common knowledge throughout the Palace. Those two Imperial Chefs are certainly aware of it too. But there’s sothing they definitely don’t know: when the Empress was younger, she absolutely loved at! She practically needed it at every al. So, you get the idea!”

Watching Xia Zheng’s exaggerated winks and hints, Lin Yuan finally grasped the significance of what he was trying to say.

“Got it. So, what about the Emperor?”

Given the example of the Empress, the Emperor must have so preferences or special quirks too, right?

This ti, Xia Zheng’s smile grew even more mysterious, tinged with a distinct sense of gloating.

“The Emperor, huh? Heh heh, now here’s a juicy tidbit that absolutely no one else knows. Even the Imperial Chefs and Imperial Physicians are in the dark.”

Lin Yuan’s ears imdiately perked up.

“Turns out, he’s just like the Empress—he loves at. But, here’s his little secret: he’s got bad teeth and can’t chew anything too tough! And yet, he’s absolutely obsessed with at. Hmm, that’s as far as your husband can help you. How you impress from here is entirely up to you.”

With a teasingly intimate pat on Lin Yuan’s shoulder, Xia Zheng’s hand naturally slipped to her waist, pulling her close as they made their way toward the grand hall.

Even though it was just a few words of information, Lin Yuan was incredibly grateful to Xia Zheng. For him to even know that the Emperor had trouble with his teeth showed just how much effort he had put into gathering intelligence.

With such a husband, what more could a wife wish for?
