Lin Yuan and Xia Zheng arrived at the Idle Tea House before the auspicious ti for the grand opening, yet the entire Idle Tea House was already buzzing with activity.
On the first floor, Da Ye and Shui Ling were in charge of the storytelling segnt.
Today, both of them were in high spirits. Since their storytelling content was different, their costus also varied accordingly.
Shui Ling was telling stories from "Dream of the Red Chamber", and with her petite, delicate, and lovely appearance, Lin Yuan prepared a costu for her modeled after Lin Daiyu’s attire in the book. She wore a soft, flowing dress, deliberately made a bit oversized to accentuate Shui Ling’s gentleness, as if she were a willow swaying in the breeze.
As for Da Ye, she represented an entirely different style.
With her straightforward and bold personality, and given that she was telling the highly adventurous "Journey to the West", Lin Yuan prepared a red martial arts outfit for her. Paired with her high ponytail and a simple yet elegant makeup, she was the very image of a heroine appearing on the scene.
When Lin Yuan arrived at the Idle Tea House, these two young ladies were sitting back to back on the performance stage on the first floor, practicing their storytelling.
Seeing the two of them practicing so earnestly, Lin Yuan felt both gratified and happy.
While Da Ye and Shui Ling were busy, the others were not idle either.
"Xiao Huan, take soone to do a final check to ensure all the tea sets in each room are complete. If anything’s missing or broken, co and replace it imdiately! Don’t forget to check the spares as well!"
"Qingxiang, have all the tea leaves been delivered? Delivered? Good! Xue Ya, don’t forget to check on the well water at the back. We can’t afford any mistakes!"
Madam Ming busily attended to one thing after another, and although she was slightly inexperienced in handling these matters, it was apparent that she took her duties very seriously and did not overlook even the smallest details.
Lin Yuan nodded slightly, and just as she was about to say sothing to Madam Ming, Tian Hui also arrived. Not only Tian Hui, but Xia Zhen ca along as well.
When brothers Xia Zheng and Xia Zhen t, they inevitably began to tease each other. Anyway, Lin Yuan and Tian Hui were used to it, so they simply ignored them and went hand in hand to the second floor to make their own preparations.
Lin Yuan had originally planned to ask Shopkeeper Liu to help with today’s opening ceremony, but Madam Ming, being a very proud woman, disagreed with the idea.
However, observing the scene before her, Lin Yuan was fully convinced of Madam Ming’s capability. Even though it was her first ti handling such affairs, Madam Ming managed everything very well with her ticulousness and patience.
Although Shopkeeper Liu was not invited, Lin Yuan still borrowed a few helpers from Dong Tian, as there were so tasks that required n’s strength.
A few helpers carried basins covered with red cloth to the entrance, wondering amongst themselves about what treasures were hidden within as they moved them.
In fact, by the shapes beneath the red cloth, one could guess a few things, but after guessing what was inside, the helpers beca even more puzzled—what kind of tea house opening would use these?
Just as they had finished placing the items and hadn’t even had ti to catch their breath, a sporadic sound of gongs and drums drew their attention.
Looking up, they saw a group of n in yellow silk cloth head wraps and yellow scarves coming their way. Apart from the unusual attire, the items they were carrying were also peculiar.
Being inexperienced, the helpers could only guess that the things the n were holding looked sowhat like gongs and suonas.
Upon arriving at the entrance, these people all stopped their work, and no more sounds were made.
The elderly man leading the pack saluted the helpers with a clenched fist and smiled, "Could you please announce that our drum and music band has arrived!"
Drum and music band? What in the world is that?
The helpers looked at each other in bewildernt, but one quicker-witted helper imdiately realized that such an unusual arrangent must be Princess Pingxi’s idea and promptly turned to run inside to report.
He guessed correctly; the drum and music band was indeed Lin Yuan’s arrangent.
Typically, store openings are celebrated with lion or dragon dances or variety performances, but Lin Yuan suddenly recalled the school team she was a part of during her school days.
As she wanted an unconventional opening ceremony, using a drum and music band was indeed a great choice. Plus, the tea house wasn’t very famous before, and now with her grand announcent of the opening, it would surely attract many visitors.
While the helper was reporting, Lin Yuan was having breakfast with Xia Zheng in the room. Since she was the one who organized the drum and music band, she had no worries and simply instructed the helper to let them rest on the spot.
