Chapter 1393: 212, Nonsense (Update 9)

From then on, Lin Family Hollow’s centennial record acquired an additional entry today, as Young Master Zheng dedicated himself to weaving a legend into the history of Lin Family Hollow, full of mystic allure.

Lady Liu, upon learning that Xia Zheng had fallen into the water, was quite worried. Even though it was sumr, one could easily catch a cold if completely drenched. She insisted that Xiao Linshuang prescribe Xia Zheng a few doses of dicine. It was unclear whether Xiao Linshuang blad Xia Zheng for missing out on fish at lunch, but the dicine she prepared for him was exceptionally bitter, even more so than coptis root.

On several occasions, Xia Zheng could barely stop himself from spitting it out. Yet, there were Lady Liu, Lin Jiaxin, Xiao Yongyan, Lin Wei, Xiao Linshuang, and, with Lin Yuan included, the six mbers of the family encircling him as if watching a monkey show. They stared unblinkingly at the dicine bowl in his hands. The mont he set his bowl down, they appeared eager to force the dicine down his throat themselves, leaving Xia Zheng no choice but to pinch his nose and down it all in one breath!

It wasn’t until later that Xia Zheng accidentally learned from Lady Liu that the whole incident had been Lin Yuan’s handiwork. She had told the family that Xia Zheng detested taking dicine and often stealthily spit it out into flowerpots. Since neither Lady Liu nor Lin Jiaxin had ever witnessed Xia Zheng taking his dicine, they believed her, and rallied the family to supervise him.

Xia Zheng was truly furious. Granted, he had intentionally used that stinky shoe for revenge, but that didn’t justify being treated so unfairly!

Regrettably for him, Xia Zheng’s lant went unheard by the heavens, but Lin Yuan heard it loud and clear.

She beckoned Xia Zheng with a crooked finger, a beguiling smile on her lips, “How about it? Do you find wicked? If so, you could always return to Miss Su or Miss Yao. I assure you, I absolutely won’t be angry!”

Like hell I believe your damned lies!

Xia Zheng, with righteous indignation, pushed away her hand that rested on his chin, raising his own hand to swear, “Wicked? I adore wicked won like you! The more malicious you are, the more I’m enchanted. I’d even relish being poisoned by you until my whole body rots away!”

Then, truly taking Lin Yuan to his room, he sprawled out on the kang bed in a spread-eagled fashion, looking heroically ready to be sacrificed, “Co on, hurry up and poison ! From head to toe, from inside out, from high to low, rcilessly poison !”

Lin Yuan’s mouth twitched, and she indeed looked him over following his directions, from head to toe, from inside out, from high to low. But wait, what did he an by high to low?

With his eyes closed and lying on the kang, Xia Zheng’s eyebrows lifted in a mischievous arch. He lifted his head to look at the only spot on his body that stood erect, and then chuckled.

Lin Yuan’s face flushed red imdiately, and she snatched up a pillow towel from the kang and hurled it at that spot!

“Pervert!”

Watching Lin Yuan turn and walk away with no hesitation, Xia Zheng looked perplexed, glancing down at his rigid toes and the small belly hidden by the pillow towel, not understanding why Lin Yuan would call him a pervert…

After falling into the water and taking his dicine, Lady Liu, afraid he would catch cold again, only allowed him to lie in his room and forbid him from going anywhere else. Thus, he spent that day boredom.

The next day was Jeng Ruyue’s son’s full-month celebration. The family got up early, preparing the gifts to be delivered. Although it was for a re one-month-old child, the gifts filled half a carriage. The remaining half was for Fan’s couple and Jeng Ruyue’s couple, and of course, there were presents for their second cousin Liu Zhiyang as well.

Nothing much had changed in Liu Family Village, but seeing the carriage from the Lin family of the Capital city still excited so folks, who pointed and discussed animatedly.

“Look, look! Those are people from the Lin Mansion of the Capital city!”

“His daughter opened a big, big tavern in the Capital city!”

When she heard the words “tavern,” Lin Yuan couldn’t help but laugh. She had just told the villagers about it upon returning ho, and it had only been a day before the news spread to ten villages and eight townships, even reaching people across the big mountain in Liu Family Village.

How interesting.

It was, after all, Xia Zheng’s first visit to Liu Family Village, and although all the villages were more or less the sa, he was still very curious about this particular village. What kind of place was it that could nurture a woman as dignified as Lady Liu, yet also produce a bandit-like woman like Liu Limin?

If Lin Yuan knew what he was thinking at that mont, she would surely be so angry that she would drag him back into the carriage.

Originally, Xia Zheng was just curious about Liu Family Village, but as he was peering out of the carriage window, he happened to be spotted by the young won and wives passing by on the road, and this caused a sensation throughout the entire village.

There were not a few n in Liu Family Village, but there were even fewer with a decent appearance. A handso and slightly charming man like Xia Zheng was even rarer.

Thus, on the main road entering Liu Family Village, a scene like this unfolded.

In the carriage, a handso man leaned against the window, delighting in the beautiful scenes of Liu Family Village. Behind the carriage, twenty or thirty young won chased after, waving their hands in an attempt to catch the attention of the handso man. So won even burst into tears and fainted on the ground from the sheer excitent of his unintentional glance.

The handso man, with his chin slightly tilted, showed his perfect side face in the sunlight for everyone to admire and chase after. The soft morning sunlight brushed his handso cheeks; it was so synchronized, so perfectly coordinated with him.

But then.

A sudden change occurred!

A delicate and fair hand suddenly pulled the handso man back into the carriage. Just when everyone was anxious about where the handso man had gone, sothing shiny and glinting with a threatening light suddenly appeared in the window where the handso man should have been. The object was backlit, making it difficult for everyone to see clearly.

So sharp-eyed won, from a good angle, suddenly pointed at the object and scread, “Ah! A knife!”

Following the woman’s scream, sothing red and reeking of blood fell from the shiny object. As everyone watched, it landed on the ground and quickly seeped into the soil.

The carriage continued to move forward, and the twenty or so young won, as if possessed, stopped in their tracks. They gathered around the object that had fallen to the ground, and then soone scread, “Blood! It’s blood!”

The twenty or so young won scattered like startled animals, but no one dared to chase the carriage or see that handso man anymore.

The hand with the knife was obviously a woman’s. Now, with blood dripping from the knife, was she warning everyone not to have designs on her man?

Everyone swallowed nervously, speculating what kind of formidable Mother tiger the woman with the knife must be, certainly more formidable than the Liu family’s Liu Limin!
