Chapter 1377: 201. Ho Again (Second Update)

Lin Yuan’s family t up with Lady Liu Limin and a few others outside the city and then headed together for Zhuma Town. The birth of Jeng Ruyue’s child was a great joy; even Liu Siliang, who was busy with the greenhouse, had put aside his tasks and ca back for the occasion.

The closer they got to Zhuma Town, the more elated Lin Yuan and her companions felt, their hearts having already flown ahead to the Lin family ho.

Xiao He was the most excited; she still rembered when leaving with Lin Yuan the reluctant and worried expressions of her aunt and uncle, as well as the way Xiao Shitou clutched her hand and quietly stuffed the six Copper Coins he had saved into her palm, and the way her grandmother had tried to smile, even though her eyes were brimming with tears.

Thinking about it, Xiao He couldn’t help but let the tears fall shalessly. It was a good thing she was leaning out of the window looking outside at that mont, or else if Lin Wei and the others had seen, they surely would have been worried.

Just as she wiped away the tears, Xiao He suddenly felt an extrely familiar figure flash by in front of her eyes. But when she wiped her tears dry and tried to take a closer look at the figure, she found that it had disappeared.

Yes, vanished.

This was an official road, bustling with carriages and n and won going to and fro, and it truly was just in the blink of an eye that she could no longer see Lady Chen.

“Mother, is that you? Or am I just missing you so much that I’m seeing things wrong?”

There were still several days before Jeng Ruyue’s son would be a month old, so Lin Yuan and her group were in no rush. They traveled leisurely, stopping here and there, and finally arrived at Zhuma Town.

Zhuma Town was still the sa as before, but perhaps having grown accustod to the bustling activity of the Capital city, they found the town to be sowhat desolate upon seeing it again.

“We should head back to the Lin family ho first. We’re not in a hurry after all, and we can co to the town in a few days to visit the old friends.”

Knowing that Lin Jiaxin and Lady Liu’s hearts had already flown back to the Lin family ho, Lin Yuan directed the carriage straight there. anwhile, Lady Liu Limin and the others took a different route toward Liu Family Village, agreeing to et there with the family the day after tomorrow.

The Lin family ho was also the sa as always, only the roads seed to have beco wider and cleaner, and the smiles of the villagers appeared more abundant.

Lin Yuan and her family’s carriage entered the village slowly. Because the carriage was so beautifully decorated, it drew the curious stares of many villagers. Although she had lived in the Lin family ho for a significant ti, Lin Yuan still wasn’t very familiar with the villagers; so faces looked familiar, but she had no idea what their nas were.

After all, the villagers were often interconnected by a web of relatives, and while one might appear young, they might hold a high standing in the hierarchy, while another – looking older – might actually have to address you as ‘Auntie’. To prevent any blunders in addressing soone in the wrong way, Lin Yuan just offered a smile to anyone familiar, and if she couldn’t avoid an encounter, she would breezily ask, “Are you heading out?” or “Have you eaten?”

Such phrases had always seed rather commonplace to her, but after coming to the Lin family ho, Lin Yuan realized that these were the most artistically charming phrases in the world, fitting any occasion without seeming trite or awkward.

However, Lin Jiaxin and Lady Liu did recognize these people from the village. Upon seeing familiar faces, Lin Jiaxin excitedly jumped down from the carriage, grabbed the hands of a few friends, and started to catch up.

Lady Liu also got down with Xiao Yongyan in her arms. Xiao Yongyan was adorably plump, which ironically made him often display an expression like a little old man, prompting many people to want to pinch his chubby cheeks.

This left Xiao Yongyan feeling speechless, and finally, after who knows how many people had pinched his cheeks, he pulled on Lady Liu’s hand and said with remarkable coherence, “Mother, I’m thirsty. I want to drink water.”

Despite the pause, this was the first ti Xiao Yongyan had spoken a complete sentence in the correct order.

Lady Liu, surprised and delighted, looked at her son; she was extrely happy.

It was her son’s first ti speaking such a pleasant sentence, so of course, Lady Liu couldn’t deny his request and imdiately took the little fellow by the hand, boarded the carriage, and headed ho.

Lin Jiaxin chatted even more enthusiastically with his friends, telling Lady Liu that he would walk back later and continued the conversation with his friends.

As Lin Jiaxin and his spouse were catching up with friends, Lin Yuan and her group had already gone ho.

Before coming back to Zhuma Town, Lin Yuan had sent people ahead to clean up the house and also sent a ssage to Sister Gui Zhi. Though Sister Gui Zhi and her family had a place in the town, they still preferred living in the village, especially now in the sumr when the days were long, so the whole family had returned.
