Yan Jinsu’s illness did not get better because of Xie Jingchen’s words, and heavy rain started pouring down the Primitive Mountains. It fell continuously from 2 pm during the day until 9 am the next day, without a pause.

After 11 pm, Yan Jinsu’s fever flared up again, and Xie Jingchen was filled with worry.

With each dose of dicine, Xie Jingchen’s heart ached.

After each dose, Yan Jinsu would sweat, maintaining four to five hours of peace. Once the dicine’s effects wore off, her body temperature began to rise again.

Xie Jingchen felt helpless; in this torrential rain, if he carried his sick wife through the mountains, it was simply impossible!

And driving down the mountain? That was even more outlandish. At this ti, they were deep in the Primitive Mountains, where it was too narrow for even a single person to pass, let alone driving a car.

Another point was that even if they made it back to the city hospital, Yan Jinsu’s recurring illness was likely to be incurable!

Although Xie Jingchen was very anxious and worried, he found that after each fever, Yan Jinsu’s spiritual power was gradually consolidating!

It was precisely because of this that he felt that going back to the city would still not solve the cause of his wife’s illness.

Xie Jingchen couldn’t explain the reason, but if she didn’t take dicine, her fever would cause her skin to almost crack and bleed, which was terrifying to behold!

And Xie Jingchen would think of that ti when Yan Jinsu was pregnant and dangerously lying in the hospital, when Wang Xiuxiu plotted against her, nearly causing the loss of their child!

Fortunately, this ti, Yan Jinsu’s spiritual power was not restrained; on the contrary, the fever seed to be fusing and solidifying her spiritual power as if repairing cracks!

Thus, while Xie Jingchen was worried, he also prayed that it was the side effect of the Purple Star Source repairing his wife’s body.

As dawn approached, Yan Jinsu’s body temperature rose again, but this ti, her spiritual power improved slightly, enough to withstand looking at Xie Jingchen taking care of her.

Xie Jingchen shared his findings with Yan Jinsu, and she was truly startled after hearing this, then nodded, "Let have a look."

After saying this, Yan Jinsu imdiately closed her eyes, cald her mind, and entered her brain space, where the Soul Crystal appeared beneath her spiritual power.

Indeed, upon closer inspection of the Soul Crystal, one could see that those hair-like fine cracks had indeed reduced by a fifth!

The Purple Star Source attached to the Soul Crystal was emitting a denser Star Source than the day before last, which was undoubtedly the reason for the accelerated healing of her Soul Crystal!

Moreover, she discovered that her spiritual power had indeed beco more consolidated!

Overjoyed, Yan Jinsu opened her eyes wide and threw herself into Xie Jingchen’s arms, exclaiming with her hoarse voice, "Husband, my Soul Crystal is truly healing at an accelerated pace!"

Xie Jingchen’s face showed happiness, but his tone was filled with worry: "Wife, can you make that damned rock slow down a bit? Your body can’t take this!"

Yan Jinsu was stunned then shook her head helplessly: "Husband, I can only absorb it into my brain space. As for controlling the energy it emits, that’s beyond my control. Unless my Soul Crystal is fully healed, that might be possible."

To control the Purple Star Source, her Soul Crystal must be intact, and only then can she use her spiritual power to control the Purple Star Source!

"So we just have to let it be and let your body stay feverish?" If it were just a mild fever, Xie Jingchen wouldn’t be so worried.

But whenever Yan Jinsu had a fever, it was so intense that blood patterns appeared under her skin, and her body temperature was nearly 40 degrees Celsius. How could he not worry?

Fortunately, the fever was confined to her head.

Now that she thought about it, it must have been the Purple Star Source causing trouble!

Yan Jinsu frowned and then recalled so rumors from her past life; she eventually realized that there were ’inter-species’ differences between her and the Fire Spirit, and being of the ’fire’ attribute, the Fire Spirit naturally wouldn’t dislike the ’heat source’ of the Purple Star Source.

"There’s probably no way to change it! Husband, how about I try now without dicine and see what happens, what extent it reaches. If it stays below forty degrees, then I should be fine once I get used to the temperature!"

The more Yan Jinsu spoke, the darker Xie Jingchen’s expression turned, but now there was no choice but to try.

Because even dicine without side effects, if taken continuously, would surely be harmful to the body!

"My heart aches!" Xie Jingchen’s large hand caressed his little wife’s forehead, wishing he could bear this tornt for her.

But things wouldn’t stop happening just because he felt upset and worried.

In less than four hours, Yan Jinsu’s small face turned as red as a cooked shrimp. She had fever bouts four tis. This ti, Yan Jinsu finally did not pass out.

This ti, even though Yan Jinsu was still feverish and dazed, the mont Xie Jingchen couldn’t hold back and took out the dicine, Yan Jinsu sensitively felt a sense of coolness circling her brain the mont she was about to lose consciousness and faint!

"Wait, wait..." Yan Jinsu pursed her lips, refusing the dicine Xie Jingchen brought to her lips, and grabbed his large hand.

"Don’t be mischievous, wife, your health is important!" Xie Jingchen’s breathing beca heavier as soon as fine red veins started to appear on Yan Jinsu’s face.

Had it not been for Yan Jinsu acting relatively normal, Xie Jingchen would have wanted her to take the dicine right then.

Xie Jingchen had personally witnessed the horrifying scene of his little wife’s skin cracking and bleeding. He could not accept even a hint of the ’premonition’ of her skin splitting open.

A nearly two-ter-tall Great Han, with a darkened face, stared at Yan Jinsu, his eyes almost moist with water, almost moving Yan Jinsu to softness, wanting nothing more than to simply comply with his wishes!

Still, Yan Jinsu was not swayed by his looks and took grasp of this brief mont of clarity to inform her husband of what she felt:

"Husband, don’t worry, look, my condition isn’t getting worse! A mont ago, I was almost unbearably hot to the point of losing consciousness, but now, I can still chat with you!"

Yan Jinsu’s grip beca stronger, no longer just weakly resting on Xie Jingchen’s arm.

Xie Jingchen stared at her small hand, took a deep breath, moved the dicine back into the Space Button, then his large hand enveloped her small one and discovered her hand, originally cold, was now quite warm!

Even Yan Jinsu’s complexion had changed from the previous ripe shrimp red to a healthier rosy red!

Xie Jingchen relaxed his body, gradually moving closer to Yan Jinsu, and could see the redness on her face receding as she described, from the earlier dense pattern to a fading spread.

"No problems then, good." Xie Jingchen swallowed, and seeing his little wife’s spirits improving, he truly felt relieved.

He helped her settle comfortably on the bed and covered her with a down quilt, his tiger eyes continuing to watch over her. Yan Jinsu, feeling much better past the heat, gazed back at him with sparkling eyes.

The couple just quietly looked at each other, not needing any words as their expressive eyes conveyed more than a thousand words could.

Xie Jingchen tucked the playful strands of hair behind her ear, his tall and sturdy body planted beside her bed like a mountain, one powerful hand on top of her head, stroking rhythmically, feeling her temperature gradually dropping, his tiger eyes finally calming down.

"Husband..." Yan Jinsu yawned, trying to keep her drowsy eyes open as she murmured softly, then gradually fell asleep under her husband’s rhythmic strokes.
